Note:
• The KX-TD789.5 can be used as a single line telephone for ho e use. This is called
I SLT I ode.
The KX-TD7895 can be connected to an Electronic Modular Switching Syste
(Panasonic KX-T, KX-TA or KX-TD series). This is called |EMSS| ode.
The functions described in |EMSS| are available only when the KX-TD7895 is
connected to the syste .

Noise
Calls are trans itted between the base unit and the handset using radio waves. For
axi u distance and noise free operation, the reco ended base unit location is:
Away fro electrical appliances
such as a fax, radio, or personal
co puter.
In a HIGH location, with no
obstructions or interference
fro electrical appliances.
The 900 MHz wireless telephone (including Panasonic wireless telephone KX-T7885
and KX-T7880) cannot be used together.
If you are out of range, an alar tone sounds continuously during a conversation.
Operatin Distance
When using ore than 2 base units, the distance between one unit and the others ust be
at least 10 feet (3 eters), or else proper radio trans ission cannot be obtained.
Battery Char in
You ust charge the battery for about 5 hours before initial use. When charging has
been co pleted, the charge indicator on the handset turns fro red to green.

Battery
' Char in
You need to charge the battery before initial use and when -{Z2- (needs to be
charged) flashes.
Put the handset with the battery in the charger (see page 5).
Charge the battery for about 5 hours. When charging has been co pleted, the
charge indicator turns fro red to green.
DO NOT PLACE THE CHARGER IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
E> Standard Battery Life
If your Panasonic battery is fully charged [at 25 “C (77 ’F)J:
In Talk ode Up to about 5 hours
In Stand-by ode Up to about 7 days

• Ti e to recharge the battery:
— when beep tones sound every 15 seconds,
— when -CH"- (needs to be charged) flashes.
• When -'CZ' (needs to be charged) flashes, a call will hang up within 3 inutes.
• If you re ove or reinsert the battery, the battery strength on LCD beco es low.
• The battery will discharge even while the handset’s power is OFF.
• Battery life ay vary depending on usage conditions and a bient te perature.

Before using the KX-TD7895 in EMSS mode
This unit does not have speaker phone and onitor features, set the following
preferences before using the KX-TD7895 in EMSS ode
Refer to your PBX anual for ore infor ation
Alternative Calling
— RingA^oice This unit cannot receive alternative voice calls, infor
other extension users not to use voice calling
Live Call Screening
(LCS) Hands-free Mode:
LCS hands-free ode is not available on this unit,
set to pnvate mode only by station programming.
To change the setting, refer to your PBX anual
Private Mode:
In this ode, the user can onitor or answer a call
1) To onitor a call
Press or the LCS key* when you hear the
alert tone
2) To answer a call
Press the LCS key* when onitoring a call or
when you hear the alert tone
* The LCS key has to be assigned to a Flexible CO Key
before using this feature
Parallel Connection This unit cannot be connected in parallel with a single
line telephone EMSS ode so that it will not work
properly in the parallel connection If the parallel
connection ode of the PBX port is set to “Parallel ON
(SLT ringing IS enabled)”, set to “Parallel OFF (SLT
ringing is disabled)” Refer to your PBX anual for
