"Installation" of the Installation Guide carefully, and install it safely and correctly.
RDoor station is described as "doorphone" in this guide.
RThe suffix of each model number (e.g., the "EX" in "VL-V555EX") is omitted unless
necessary.
RAfter installation,make sure to leave this guide with the customer.

ensure proper and safe operation of your product.

Preventing fire, electric shock and short circuits
RLeave installation work to the dealer.
Installation work requires technique and experiences. Failure to observe this may cause fire, electric
shock, injury, or damage to the product. Consult the dealer.
RDo not attempt to disassemble or modify this product. Contact an authorised service centre for repairs.
RNever install wiring during a lightning storm.
RDo not connect non-specified devices.
RDo not make any wiring connections when the power supply is turned on.
RDo not directly spray the product with water from a hose or other objects.
RWhen existing chime wires are used, it is possible that they contain AC voltage.
Contact an authorised service centre.
CAUTION
Preventing electric shock
RIf the wiring is underground, do not make any connections underground.
RIf the wiring is underground, use a protection tube.
RIf the wiring is outdoors, use a protection tube or a surge protector.
Preventing injury
RInstall the product securely adhering to the instructions in this guide to prevent it from falling off the
wall. Avoid installing onto low-strength walls, such as gypsum board, ALC (autoclaved lightweight
concrete), concrete block,or veneer (less than 18 mm thick) walls.

RYou will need the following additional items to install and configure the doorphone. [Locally
procured]
– Screw × 2 (for mounting base): VL-V555EX/FX models only
Prepare the screws ( → the drawing on the right) according to the material,
structure, strength and other factors of the mounting area and the total weight
of objects to be mounted.

Prepare cables and wires of the appropriate specification.

RIn the event of problems, you should contact your equipment supplier in the firstinstance.

the doorphone so that the vistor’s face can be seen in the
dark.

Doorphone image quality
The following phenomena may occur. They are not malfunctions.
RIf strong light such as sunlight shines into the camera lens, uneven colouring from reflected light, or
white lines or circles may appear in images.
RImages may appear distorted because of the characteristics of the camera lens.
RWhen there is poor light in the area around the doorphone or at night:
– Areas lit with external lights or white objects may appear greenish.
–Even when the doorphone’s LED lights are lit, because the light from the LED lights cannot illuminate
the edges of the visible area (the areas directly next to the doorphone), faces of people may not be
identifiable even when they are close to the doorphone.
(We recommend installing extra lights in the area around the doorphone.)
