Introduction
The Photo Backup Stick is a photo & video backup tool. The Photo Backup Stick
Universal version supports Windows & Mac computers, iPhones & iPads, and Android
phones & tablets. The Photo Backup Stick for Computers supports Windows & Mac
computers. Both versions contain specialized apps to make it easy to back up your
photos.
Backup Options
The Photo Backup Stick allows you to back up using different methods.
Backing Up from Phones & Tablets – Direct Connect – The Photo Backup Stick
Universal can connect directly to iPhones/iPads and Android phones and tablets. One
end of the stick is an Apple Lightening connector used to connect to Apple iOS devices.
USB adapters for Android devices are also included. Connect the adapter for your
Android device to the stick and plug it in. See the sections below on how to install the
apps.
Note: The Photo Backup Stick for Computers does not connect directly to phones for
backups.
Backing Up from Computers – Back up photos and videos on Windows or Mac
computers by plugging the stick into the computer and running the backup app.
Backing Up from Phones and Tablets Using a Computer – You can back up photos
and videos from iPhones and iPads as well as Android phones and tablets by
connecting them to the computer, plugging in the Photo Backup Stick, and running the
backup app.

Backing Up Using a Mac Computer
To back up photos and videos from Mac computers and laptops, iPhones and iPads,
and/or Android phones and tablets, follow the steps below:
1. Plug the Photo Backup Stick into your computer and run the
PhotoBackupStickMac app.
2. Click the “Start Backup” button.
3. Select where to back up from. If you have phones or tablets connected to the
computer, they’ll show up on this screen under “Backup Photos from my device”.
You may need to trust the computer on the device screen. You can back up from
the computer and all connected devices at the same time.

Note: To backup videos, make sure the box is checked to backup videos. Videos
over 4GB in size are too large to back up on the FAT32 formatted Photo Backup
Stick drive and will be skipped.
4. Click the “Start Backup” button and wait for the backup to complete.
Note: Backups may take several hours to complete depending on the number of
photos and videos being backed up. Video files can be very large and may take
extra long to copy to the USB drive.
Changing the Interface Language
To change the language from the default English to another language, click on the
“Options” button from the main screen.
Select your language from the drop-down list and click “OK”.

Backing Up iPhones & iPads Using the iOS App
(Available Only in Photo Backup Stick Universal)
To back up from Apple iOS phones or tablets without using a computer, follow the
instructions below:
1. Plug your stick into your device. You should be prompted to install the Photo
Backup Stick app. If you are not, go to:
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/photo-backup-stick-universal/id1482134898
2. Plug the Photo Backup Stick Universal into your iPhone or iPad and open the
app when asked.
Note: Use the end with the same tip as your charging cable.
3. Tap to allow the app to communicate with the stick:

4. Start your backup:
Note that if you have photos stored
in iCloud, they are not likely to be on
the phone and can’t be backed up
unless you keep backups from
iCloud turned on.
Tap the settings icon to make sure
backing up from iCloud is enabled.
You can select to stop seeing this
message about iCloud.
Start your backup by tapping on
Start Backup to back up all photos
and videos, Backup Photos to
backup photos only, or Backup
Videos to backup videos only.

Choose to Backup All photos or
Select Content to manually select
photos to backup.
If you choose Select Content, you
can backup entire albums by tapping
the box by the album(s) you want to
backup or you can tap on an album
and select individual photos to
backup.

Backing Up Androids Using the Android App
(Available Only in Photo Backup Stick Universal)
To back up Android phones or tablets without using a computer, follow the instructions
below:
1. Go to the Google Play store and download the Photo Backup Stick DC app:

2. Install the app and open it.
3. Connect the adapter that was included with your Photo Backup Stick for Android
DC version to the end of the stick:
Note: Use the adapter with the same tip as your charging cable.
4. If you are asked to assign the drive to the Photo Backup Stick app, check the box
and tap “OK”.

5. Tap the “Start Backup” button to back up all photos and videos or tap the
“Backup Photos” to only back up photos or tap the “Backup Videos” button to
only back up videos.
6. Tap OK to give access to back up to the stick. Then tap the PHOTOBACKUP
drive (Note: if the drive is not available, you may need to click the three dots in
the upper right corner and select to show SD Card)

7. Next, tap SELECT “PHOTOBACKUP” to start the backup process:
View Backup Up Files
View / Edit Photos – Each app has a the Phone2Frame photo viewer and editor
feature. Here, you can view, delete, rotate, and crop photos so they fit digital picture
frames or TVs with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Mac App – Photo Viewer
Windows App – Photo Viewer
iOS App – View / Edit Photos
Android App – View / Edit Photos
Troubleshooting:
If you are unable to complete a backup, the confirmation screen has a button to “Send
logs to support”. Tap this button to attach logs for our support team to determine what
went wrong. Please note, you must have email setup on the device to send logs to us.
Help Files – The Windows app and Mac app both have a comprehensive help files that
can be accessed from the app. Please read the help file before contacting support.

Sichern mit einem Mac-Computer
Führen Sie die folgenden Schritte aus, um Fotos und Videos von Mac-Computern und -
Laptops, iPhones und iPads und / oder Android-Telefonen und -Tablets zu sichern:
1. Schließen Sie den Photo Backup Stick an Ihren Computer an und führen Sie die
PhotoBackupStickMac-App aus.
2. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche "Backup starten".
3. Wählen Sie aus, von wo aus gesichert werden soll. Wenn Sie Telefone oder
Tablets an den Computer angeschlossen haben, werden diese auf diesem
Bildschirm unter "Fotos von meinem Gerät sichern" angezeigt. Möglicherweise

zum Sichern von Videos aktiviert ist. Videos mit einer Größe von mehr als 4 GB
sind zu groß, um auf dem mit FAT32 formatierten Photo Backup Stick-Laufwerk

Um die Sprache vom Standard-Englisch in eine andere Sprache zu ändern, klicken Sie

Sichern von iPhones und iPads mit der iOS-App

Fehlerbehebung:
Wenn Sie keine Sicherung durchführen können, wird auf dem Bestätigungsbildschirm
die Schaltfläche "Protokolle an den Support senden" angezeigt. Tippen Sie auf diese
Schaltfläche, um Protokolle für unser Support-Team anzuhängen und festzustellen, was
schief gelaufen ist. Bitte beachten Sie, dass auf dem Gerät eine E-Mail-Einrichtung
eingerichtet sein muss, um Protokolle an uns senden zu können.
