Read This First
Please read the following important safety instructions carefully before
using this thermal printer. Failure to observe these instructions may
result in personal injuries or damages to this printer.
Important Safety Instructions
Do not place this printer under direct sunlight or near
heat sources, such as in a closed car under sunlight
or near a stove. The outer casing of this printer may
become deformed and the sophisticated components
inside may become damaged due to excessive heat.
Do not use this printer near water, in the rain or allow
any liquid to get inside this printer. Water and moisture
may cause short-circuit to the electronic components
and lead to malfunctions.
Do not use this printer near strong electromagnetic
sources, such as a microwave oven. The
electromagnetic interference may cause this printer to
malfunction.
Do not drop or apply shock/vibration to this printer.
Strong impacts may damage the components inside.

Important Safety Instructions
Do not use an unknown power adapter other than the
one supplied with this printer. Connecting this printer
to an unknown power adapter is very dangerous and
may lead to fire or explosion.
Do not cut, bend, modify, place heavy objects, or
step on the cable of the power adapter. Otherwise
the external insulation may be damaged and result in
short-circuit or fire.
If there are strange odors or heat emitting from this
printer or any signs of malfunction, disconnect this
printer from the power immediately and contact your
dealer for inspection or service.
If a foreign substance or water gets in this printer, turn
the power off immediately and disconnect the power
adapter. Send the printer to your nearest service
center.
Do not attempt to dissemble or modify this printer.
There are no user serviceable parts inside this printer,
and unauthorized modifications will cause the warranty
to void.
Do not place your fingers near the cutter edge,
especially when lifting the roll paper cover or tearing
off the paper. The sharp edge of the cutter may injure
your fingers.

towards the wall mounting screws on the wall , and hang
the printer securely against the wall in the directions illustrated
above . Make sure the wall mounting screws are inserted

12 Connecting to a POS System
Installation
To get your thermal printer ready for use, complete the following
installations step by step.
Connecting to a POS System
You can connect the printer to a POS system via the USB connector or
the interface card.

WARNING: Before connecting the printer to power, make sure
the printer power is switched off ( ⍄page15) and the power
cord is unplugged from the electric outlet. Failure to do so may
result in damage to the power supply unit and the printer.

1 Connect the female connector of the power cord to the power
inlet of the AC adapter.
2 Insert the DC output connector of the adapter (with the flat side
facing down) into the power socket of the printer.
3 Plug the power cord into an electric outlet.
NOTE: Plug type and electrical outlet vary by country/region.

14 Routing the Cables
Routing the Cables
After you have connected the power cord and other interface cables
to the printer, you may need to route these cables properly for safety
concerns.

1 Pass the power cord through the cable collector at the rear side of
the printer.
2 Repeat Step 1 to route other cables. Make sure all the cables are
not pinched or tangled.
NOTE: Always keep a safe distance (approximately 30 mm)
between the cables and the wall or other objects behind the
printer.

1 Press the Cover release button to open the roll paper cover.

2 Lift the cover with both hands.
WARNING: Do not lift the cover with your fingers near the cutter
as its sharp edge may injure your fingers.
Installing the Roll Paper
This printer can print roll paper with two different widths, 80 mm and
58 mm. To print the latter, you will need to install the 58 mm roll paper
guide (please refer to “Changing the Paper Width” on page 21).

Installing the Roll Paper
1 Open the roll paper cover. If roll paper is placed inside, remove it
from the printer.
2 Place the 80 mm roll paper in the correct direction as illustrated
below.

3 Pull out some paper to align it with the edge of the printer, and
then close the cover.

Adjusting the Paper Level Sensor
4 Gently tear off the paper.
WARNING: To avoid injuring your fingers, do not place your
fingers near the cutter edge when tearing off the paper.
Adjusting the Paper Level Sensor
This printer contains a paper level sensor that detects the remaining
amount of paper by measuring the diameter of the roll paper. You can
follow the steps below to adjust the sensor.
NOTE: The printer cannot detect the remaining paper exactly
since the paper cores may vary in shape and design.
1 Open the roll paper cover. If roll paper is placed inside, remove it
from the printer.
