PARTICLES
USER MANUAL

Particles, is 4 channels of trigger modulation, capable of mathematically variating
and manipulating your patterns with a combination of fun features to play with.
It can evolve your rhythmic idea into more complex and groovy patterns which
are difficult to achieve without music knowledge.
You can create your algorithms from the rhythmic tools provided to be able to
change the patterns instantaneously in many ways without worrying to sacrifice
the original idea.
You can shift and scramble the outputs, you can repeat the triggers with different
time signatures to transform the grooves, mute in different ways, disappear by
probability trigger inputs, disappear by probability repetitions, use sequential
switching to shift randomly with a different kind of resetting, bypass each channel
and set it individually the amount of each feature per channel when feeding
external CV.
The idea of Particles, was designed to provide features for building complex
breaks, grooves, organic-evolving percussion sounds, different options for
arpeggios, and even bass line grooves, the limits are decided by you.
.
INTRODUCTION:
* Disconnect your synth from the power source.
* Double check polarity from the ribbon cable, unfortanetly if you damage
the module by powering in the wrong direction it will not be covered by
the warranty.
* After connecting the module check again you have connected the right
way, the red line must be on the -12V

1. Default mode:
Particles needs 4 triggers & clock to make calculations, in default mode you
can set the amount of global repetitions by rotating the encoder, the display
will reflect the repetitions selected. Also you can select the distribution of the
repetitions in clock length, by default is 16 clocks = C16
Set the amount of Global repetitions by rotating the encoder
or sending CV to RATE input.
Rate=1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12, 16, 24, 48, 64, 96, 128
Set bar length for repetitions distribution, by default C16 is
selected wich means the repetitions selected will be
distributed in 16 clocks x/16, when changing the distribution
you can get interesting grooves to play with. You can choose
from x/16, x/24, x/32, x/40, x/48, x/56, x/64.
Pressing the buttons toggles Triplets ON/OFF, for musical results
select “no triplets/ON”
The sliders works together with the encoder + CV input, they will
reach the maximum of what the screen shows, each slider can limit
the amount of REP, even if the CV or the encoder goes further.
The sliders will keep the last value adjusted until moved back. This
is very useful when you send LFO to RATE input and you want
each channel to reach a maximum of repetitions.
Selecting odd numbers in bar lentgh and adjusting the repetitions with the
sliders you can get interesting polyrhythms, hip hop and african grooves.
Triger input + RATE = 16 & C16
Triger input + RATE = 16 & C24
Pressing the buttons toggles Mute ON/OFF per output channel
You can manually or with CV shift the inputs to outs selected.
Random output will deliver random voltages from 0-10V
based in the random values used to shift the inputs when
random stage is selected.
Pressing FUNCTION btn + pressing encoder will take you to
RESET POSITION menu you can select from 4 options:
R.P.1 Every time a trigger is received to RESET input will
shift the inputs to the FIXED position
R.P2 Every time a trigger is received to RESET input will
shift the inputs to shift> 1 position
R.P3 Every time a trigger is received to RESET input will
shift the inputs to shift> 2 position
R.P4 Every time a trigger is received to RESET input will
shift the inputs to shift> 3 position
Fixed, not shifting
Shift sequenced forward by clock input.
Shift sequenced randomly by clock input.
Shift > 1 time = in1 to out2, in2 to out3, etc..
Shift > 2 times = in1 to out3, in2 to out4, etc..
Shift > 3 times = in1 to out4, in2 to out1, etc..

2. GATER mode:
GATER feature uses clock divisions from the clock input to mute the triggers
per channel. You can enable/disable GATER on each channel by pressing
their btns.
When GATER is OFF the BTN-LED will blink shortly every 16 steps of the
clock, also the short blinking will show you the phase of the clock divisions.
When GATER is ON the BTN-LED will toggle ON/OFF clocked by divisions
selected.
When the clock is high, MUTE toggles ON. The BTN-LED from each channel
will toggle ON.
When the clock is low, MUTE toggles OFF. The BTN-LED from each channel
will toggle OFF.
With the encoder or CV you can set the maximum amount of
divisions, DIV are 1/1, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4, 1/6, 1/8, 1/12, 1/16, 1/24 1/32,
1/48, 1/64,1/96, 1/128.
The sliders adjusts and limits the amount of divisions set
on the screen, the BTN-LED will show the divisions when the
sliders are moved.

3. BYPASS:
Pressing FUNCTION btn + BYPASS btn will go to BYPASS menu,
the btns toggles BYPASS ON/OFF, when the btn is pressed it will wait
for the next trigger to toggle.
4.PROBABILITY:
Probability could be useful if you want less musical or organic results.
PROBABILITY feature, disappears all repetitions by probability set
by the encoder or CV.
Pressing FUNCTION btn + PROB btn will go to PROBABILITY menu,
the amount of the global probability is displayed on the screen.
The sliders limits per channel the amount of probability adjusted from
the encoder or CV.
Pressing each BTN can lock PROBABILITY to 100% per channel so
even if you adjust global probability with the encoder & CV or if you
adjust probability with the sliders the channels locked to 100% are
not affected and the BTN-LED is ON.
When the channel is not locked to 100% when you move the slider,
the BTN-LED will blink showing the percentage limited selected.
BTN-LED slowly blinking means low percentage, fast blinking means
high percentage, sliders values are kept until moved back.

4. ABSORB:
Pressing encoder for 3 seconds will save the adjustments to the SD card.
ABSORB feature, disappears by the probability the repetitions set
by the encoder or CV except trigger input.
Pressing FUNCTION btn + PROB btn will go to ABSORB menu,
the amount of the global probability is displayed on the screen.
The sliders limits per channel the amount of ABSORB adjusted
from the encoder or CV.
Pressing each BTN can lock ABSORB to 100% per channel so
even if you adjust global ABSORB with the encoder & CV or if
you adjust ABSORB with the sliders the channels locked to 100%
are not affected and the BTN-LED is ON.
When the channel is not locked to 100% when you move the slider
the BTN-LED will blink showing the percentage limited selected.
BTN-LED slowly blinking means low percentage, fast blinking
means high percentage, values are kept until moved back
