b) Select the remote handset(s) that the operator wishes to communicate with
by pressing the push-button(s) on the Zone Control Module. A flashing led will
indicate that the remote handset is selected for communication.
c) A distinct audible signal will be heard at the selected remote handset. Upon
the raising of the remote handset, the audible signal will disappear and
communication with the master handset is established. The flashing led on
the Zone Control Module will be replaced by a continuous lighted indication
3.4 Additional Remote Handsets calling Master Control Console
During the course of a conversation between the master handset and a remote handset,
if one or more additional remote handsets are raised, this condition will be indicated by
a flashing led on the respective Zone Control Module. These additional remote
handsets will have a “busy” tone. This tone will disappear and these handsets will be
able to join in the conversation once the operator at the Master Control Console presses
the corresponding selector switch on the Zone Control Module.
3.5 Privacy and Conference Mode
When more than one remote handset are calling or in the conversation, the lighted
“Private” led on the System Control Module will be replaced by a lighted “Parties” led.
In the event when the operator at the Master Control Console wishes to engage a
private conversation with a particular remote handset, the operator can press the
“Privacy” button. This will terminate conversation with all raised handsets which will then
receive a “busy” tone. The operator will then press the selector switch to select the
remote handset in question so that conversation can be established.
If the operator at the Master Control Console wishes to talk to all raised remote
handsets at that moment, the “Conference” button can be pressed.
3.6 Ending Conversation
To end a conversation between the operator at the Master Control Console and the
remote handset, the operator will press the corresponding selector switch. The
continuous lighted led will change to a flashing indication. The remote handset in
question will receive a “busy” tone. Upon replacing the remote handset back to its
cradle, the flashing indication on the Zone Control Module will disappear.
Replacing the master handset back to its cradle when all remote handsets are hooked
will make the Fireman Intercom System resume its normal operating condition.
