About PAX
With over 1 million devices sold, PAX premium vaporizers
apply advanced technology and intuitive design for an
unforgettable vapor experience.
PAX 1 arrived in 2012, entering the category with a bold
attempt to change the way people consume loose leaf.
PAX 2 followed in 2015, bringing unprecedented technical
features that changed the category forever.
Now introducing PAX 3, the best-in-class portable vaporizer
that sets the standard for simplicity, elegant design, and
an exceptional vaporization experience. Built for use with
both loose leaf and extracts, and with PAX Mobile App
connectivity for an ultimately personal experience.

About Vaporization
Vaporization gently heats plant materials releasing active
ingredients in the form of a smokeless vapor. A vaporizer
preserves your materials and keeps them below the burning
point for a smooth and flavorful experience, every time.
PAX devices use conduction heating and does not heat
to combustion. There is no smoke nor secondhand smoke
produced from using PAX.

In The Box

PAX Temp Control
PAX 3 features four temperature ranges to customize your
experience. Your preferred temp settings will aect material
longevity, material flavor, and vapor production.
Temperatures are adjustable through the device interface,
using the ON / OFF button. Press and hold the on/o button
when device is on to activate/exit temperature mode.
You can also shake the device to exit temperature mode.
When PAX 3 is connected to the PAX Mobile App, the full
temperature range from 360° - 420° F becomes available
in 1 or 10 degree increments, giving you a 5th customizable
temperature setting in addition to the four default settings
available when not connected to the App.
Initial “X” petal, 340° F / 174° C
(PAX 3 only)
Initial low-level heating phase.
First petal, 360° F / 182° C
(Green light for PAX 3, Yellow light for PAX 2)
A lighter, fresher vapor flavor. Vapor quality may be
very light and wispy. Great for loose leaf that may
have a higher moisture content.
Second petal, 380° F / 193° C
Fuller vapor quality. Great standard heat setting for
fresher, moister material. Slightly intensified flavor.
Third petal, 400° F / 205° C
Most commonly selected temperature range.
Vapor output is full and richer. Most optimal for
various loose-leaf densities and moisture levels.
Fourth petal, 420° F / 215° C
Intensified flavor. Users often mention a ‘toasted’ aroma.
Best temperature range for dry loose leaf, or loose leaf that
has been used in an ongoing or previous vape session.

PAX 3 PAX 2

Loose Leaf Quick Start
1. REMOVE THE LID
Remove the magnetic oven lid and pack with ground, loose-leaf material.
2. FIRMLY PACK YOUR OVEN.
PAX provides the best vapor when the oven is packed firmly— and at least
halfway full. Use multi-tool to firmly pack ground material inside of oven.
For a more eicient session with less material, use the half pack oven
lid. You can pack and fill the PAX device to the top edge of the oven for
a longer session. If you like, you can use the lid to firmly tamp down the
contents of the oven. Once your oven is nicely packed, replace the lid.
CAUTION: Please always make sure PAX 3 is not powered on or has been o for
at least 20 minutes before attempting to pack the oven.
3. TURN ON YOUR DEVICE.
A short press in the center of the mouthpiece will turn your device on.
PAX 3 heats in as little as 20 seconds, with PAX 2 in under 45 seconds.
The LED petals will pulse purple while heating.
4. GREEN MEANS GO.
Once the LED lights turn green, you’re good to go. A gentle, cigar-like
draw is best to start. Ensure your lips are placed around and not directly
in the opening of the mouthpiece. When drawing, PAX’s green lights will
pulse faster than usual.
*One full oven should last anywhere between 10 and 15 draws.
**A full battery charge should last approximately 10 sessions with PAX 3, and 5 sessions with PAX 2.
***Session and battery life are dependent on a number of factors including plant material and temperature settings.

More Concentrate Info
• WARNING! The adapter gets extremely hot! Let it cool down
before handling.
• For best performance, we recommend using only 10 - 20 milligrams
of material (about the size of a lentil) and setting the device to the
Med-High or High temperature settings. You may find that your
vapor is slightly richer than using loose-leaf.
• If the adapter seems to be stuck, turn on the device for 2-3
seconds until it loosens up and then remove it.
• Compared to the standard or Half Pack Oven Lid you’ll find that
the concentrate insert will sit slightly raised from the bottom of the
device to increase airflow, making it easier to remove once you’re
finished with a session. Although the neodymium magnets are
incredibly strong and should keep the insert in place inside pockets
or bags, you may wish to replace the insert with the standard oven
lid before storing.
• Avoid allowing concentrates into the two chamber tubes.
• Although the magnets are incredibly strong and should keep the
insert in place inside pockets or bags, you may wish to replace the
insert with the standard oven lid before storing.
• You may find that your vapor is slightly richer than using loose-leaf.
• The concentrate insert is a precision CNC machined aluminum oven
that works well with a variety of concentrate materials using PAX 3’s
conduction heating. Its unique design and aluminum construction
provides faster heat transfer and ensures a mess free experience
no matter how you hold your device.
• Unlike other oil pens that utilize coil heaters and have a greater
chance of overheating and regular cleaning, the PAX 3 insert,
and its algorithm controlled heating, is much gentler and doesn’t
overheat your concentrate.
• The insert does not need to be loaded or cleaned after every
use, unless you’d like to minimize mixing flavors. We recommend
cleaning the insert every 5-10 uses.

PAX Device Care
Taking care of PAX devices has never been easier.
For Frequent Users
• 1-2 times a month, clean the vapor path using pipe cleaners
and isopropyl alcohol or warm soapy water.
• Clean or replace the screen after approximately 15-20 sessions.
• The oven screen and mouthpieces can be soaked in isopropyl
alcohol or warm soapy water while your PAX is charging.
• Never submerge the oven lids in liquid.
Concentrate Insert Cleaning
• Soak concentrate insert in isopropyl alcohol or warm soapy
water and use pipe cleaners or cotton swabs for a detailed
cleanse of the inside of the chamber.
• While stains and signs of use are normal, they should
not aect functionality.

PAX Pro Tips
Maximizing Vapor with Loose Leaf
and Concentrates (PAX 3 only)
Grind and pack firmly
Grinding and packing loose leaf firmly will produce thicker,
richer vapor and provide more draws per single session.
Draw restriction creates more vapor
Use the draw restriction to gently pull vapor from the heating chamber.
Use a small amount of solid concentrates (PAX 3)
Prevent concentrate from leaking out by using just a small amount
of material in a waxy or buttery consistency.
Temperatures
Loose leaf
Start on a lower heat setting and working your way up to the
highest through out your session. For drier loose-leaf material,
start on a Med to High temperature setting.
Concentrate:
Start on the highest temperature setting.

Lip Sensing
A capacitive touch sensor quickly boosts the oven chamber
to the selected temperature when you draw from the mouthpiece.
This not only ensures a consistent temperature throughout the
loose leaf, but also preserves battery life during your session.
• When a PAX device is on, but not in use, the heating chamber
temperature is reduced by a few degrees.
• When your lips are in contact, PAX slightly boosts heat to the
selected temperature setting.
• When you’ve finished drawing, the oven temperature reduces
by a few degrees
• If PAX doesn’t sense your lips for 3 minutes, it will
automatically shut o.
Charging and Battery
• Three red LED blinks means it’s time to charge your PAX device.
• Connect the charging dock and cord provided to your computer,
then place PAX on the magnetic dock.
• Watch for the pulsing white petals, which indicate approximate
charge percentage.
• PAX is 75% charged when all three petals are solidly lit,
and 100% when all four are solidly lit.
• We do not recommend using 3rd party AC adapters.
PAX 3 Battery Specs
and Charging
PAX 3 comes with a rechargeable 3500mAh Lithium-ion battery
and lasts approximately 8-10 sessions with a full charge.
• Charge time via USB: 150 min
• Charge time via PAX AC Adapter: 90 min
• A full battery charge is indicated by four solid white petals
• All four petals blinking red, three times, means it’s time to recharge.
* If irregular charging behavior is observed, try using an alternate power source to ensure PAX
is receiving suicient power. If problems persist, please contact PAX Support.

Setting Temperature
• Once the PAX device is on, give the power button on the
mouthpiece a longer press (approximately 2 sec) to reach
temperature setting mode.
• You’ll know you’re in temperature set mode once the
LED petals change from green to yellow, then orange
and finally, red as you increase the temperature setting.
• Cycle through the temperature settings with a quick press
of the power button / mouthpiece.
• Exit temperature setting mode by holding down the mouthpiece
button for another extended press, or by shaking the device.
• If PAX ever feels warm during use, wrap your hand around the
shell and you’ll feel the heat immediately dissipate once in
contact with your hand.
• Holding PAX in your hand during heat-up will help prevent
the exterior of the shell from feeling too warm to hold.
Cool Down Mode
• If PAX 3 doesn’t sense your lips for 20 seconds the oven
temperature will lower by a few degrees to preserve the
internal temperatures of your material
• After 30 seconds of sitting idle, PAX will indicate it’s in
“Cool Down” mode with a Blue LED.
• Pick PAX up again to begin to heat the chamber.
• After 3 minutes of idle time, PAX automatically shuts o.
Oven Capacity
• PAX 3’s oven holds about 0.35 grams of ground flower material.
The Half Pack Oven Lid (included in the PAX 3 box or sold
separately for PAX 2), holds about 0.17 grams of material. These
amounts may vary with moisture content and level of grind.

Finish & Materials
• The vapor path and oven are constructed from surgical
grade, stainless steel and are sealed from the rest of the
internal components.
• All plastic materials are made from heat resistant,
food-grade, BPA free plastics.
• PAX devices use a proprietary, non-ceramic tuned,
thin film heater bonded to the laser-welded stainless
steel oven, separate from the air path.
• The concentrate insert is a precision CNC machined
aluminum oven.
• PAX 2 colors come in a brushed aluminum finish.
• PAX 3 colors come in a matte finish.
