<CAUTION>
The Spikes are sharp and can cause bodily injury or property damage.
To prevent mishaps, use extreme care when handling the hi-hat
especially when the Spike Tips are exposed. Rugs or carpets should
be used to protect floor surfaces.
Swivel Leg Adjustment
Loosen the Wing Bolt and swivel
the legs to the desired position.
Make sure that the tripod is
stable and re-tighten the Wing
Bolt (Fig. 2).
<CAUTION>
Test the stability of the hi-hat before playing. Readjust the legs as
necessary to achieve a stable tripod before proceeding.
Reversible Spiked / Rubber Tipped Feet
For maximum slip prevention, the Spike Tip should be used.
Loosen the Key Bolt until the Spike is easily turned then rotate
the Spike downward. Tighten the Key Bolt to lock the Spike
(Fig. 3).

Footboard Attachment
Squeeze the Radius Rods together and insert the ends into
the holes in the Support Casting as shown (Fig. 1). Stand
the hi-hat base vertically by adjusting the width of the legs.
Set the bottom of the Support Casting squarely on the floor
to form a solid tripod.
Note: Reverse the above procedure for disassembly.

Upper Section Assembly
Thread the Upper Pull Rod into the Connector as shown in (Fig.
4-A) until the Lock Nut presses securely against the Connector.
The Connector is specially designed to spin when the
Connector and Upper Pull Rod are fully engaged and won't
tighten further. Insert the Upper Tube into the Die Cast
Joint and set the height to your preference. Set the Stop
Lock by loosening the Key Bolt and sliding the Stop Lock
against the Die Cast Joint with the tab fitted into the slot
then retighten the Key Bolt. Place the lower hi-hat cymbal
on the Hi-hat Cup then assemble the Hi-hat Clutch with the
top hi-hat cymbal between the Felt Washers and securely
tighten the Bottom Nut as shown in (Fig. 4-B). Tighten the
Key Bolt to lock the Bottom Nut
as shown in (Fig. 4-C). Mount the
Clutch with the top cymbal
attached onto the Upper Pull Rod
as shown in (Fig. 4-B). Adjust the
distance between the top and
bottom cymbals to your
preference then secure the
Clutch by tightening the Wing
Bolt. When disassembling the
hi-hat, it may be necessary to
grasp the knurled surface of the
Connector while unthreading the
Upper Pull Rod.

Hi-hat Cup Tilt Adjustment
Turn the Knurled Knob to tilt the
bottom cymbal to help prevent "air
lock" between the cymbals (Fig. 5).

Footboard Angle Adjustment
To change the footboard
angle, loosen the Key
Bolt and slide the Chain
End Connector up or
down until the desired
angle is achieved. Make
sure that the Chain End
Connector is securely
engaged with the teeth in
the Casting before
tightening the Key Bolt.

Spring Tension Dial. This

TractionPlate / Traction Grips
The Traction Plate is reversible to provide just the right
amount of grip at either the front or rear of the footboard.
The Traction Grip dots can be removed as needed to
custom tailor the amount of traction for your personal
playing style. For either adjustment, remove the four Allen
screws holding the Traction Plate with the included Allen
Wrench (Fig. 8-A). The Traction Plate can then be reversed
(Fig. 8-B), the Traction Grip dots removed and rearranged,
or both. Note: When reattaching the Traction Plate,
finger-tighten the four screws to prevent cross-threading
then tighten the screws securely.
To protect the chain from damage when transporting your
H-1000K it is advisable to remove the chain from the
footboard. To remove the chain, remove the Key Bolt as
shown in (Fig.10.) After removing the chain, thread the Key
Bolt finger tight back into the footboard for safe keeping until
the chain is reattached.
<CAUTION>
1) To prevent damage to the footboard, periodically inspect the screws
on the TractionPlate to ensure that they are tight and evenly tensioned.
An Allen wrench is provided for this purpose.
2) Always use the pedal with the Traction Plate mounted to prevent
possible injury to your foot.
Maintenance
The Base Tube is secured to the Support Casting with an Allen
screw. In the event the Base Tube becomes loose, tighten the
Allen screw with the provided Allen wrench to restore stability
(Fig. 9).

CAUTION
Periodically check all Allen Screws for tightness and tighten
them with the provided Allen Wrenches as needed.
Periodically lightly lube external moving parts such as the
Chain, Wing Nuts, Wing Bolts, Key Bolts, and Footboard Hinge
to achieve optimum performance from your hi-hat.
To maximize traction of the rubber mat beneath the heel plate,
keep it clean and dust free using a damp cotton towel.
