Installation Guide
This product was designed to be installed on wood stud walls and solid concrete (2000 psi
density minimum) or cinder block walls. Before installing make sure the supporting surface will
support the combined load of the equipment and hardware. Screws must be tightly secured.
Do not overtighten screws or damage can occur or product may fail. This product is intended
for indoor use only. Use of this product outdoors could lead to product failure or personal

Installation to Wood Stud Wall

NOTE: If installing SmartMount® A/V Component Shelf (sold separately) or additional SmartMount®
Cable Management Columns remove end caps before installation.
Level column (A) and use as a template to mark two mounting holes along the center line of the wood
stud. Drill two 5/32" (4 mm) diameter holes 2.5" (64 mm) deep. Attach wall mount (A) to wall with
two wood screws (C) into stud center. Warning: Do not overtighten screws or damage may occur.
Warning: Wood screws must center in stud. Tighten fasteners then cover #14 x 2.5" wood screws (C)
with rubber caps (B).

Installing to Solid Concrete or Cinder Block

CONCRETE CINDER BLOCK
NOTE: If installing SmartMount® A/V Component Shelf (sold separately) or additional SmartMount®
Cable Management Columns remove end caps before installation.
Level wall mount (A) and use as a template to mark two mounting holes. Drill four 13/32" (10 mm)
diameter holes 3" (76 mm) deep. Insert two anchors (D) into holes. Secure wall mount (A) with two
wood screws (C). Warning: Do not overtighten screws or damage may occur. Warning: Wood
screws must center in stud. Tighten fasteners then cover #14 x 2.5" wood screws (C) with rubber
caps (B).

CONCRETE
Drill holes and insert anchors (D).
• When installing Peerless wall mounts on cinder block, verify that you have a minimum of 1-3/8"
(35 mm) of actual concrete thickness in the hole to be used for the concrete anchors. Do not drill
into mortar joints! Be sure to mount in a solid part of the block, generally 1" (25 mm) minimum
from the side of the block. Cinder block must meet ASTM C-90 speci¿cations. It is suggested that
a standard electric drill on slow setting is used to drill the hole instead of a hammer drill to avoid
breaking out the back of the hole when entering a void or cavity.
• Never attach concrete expansion anchors to concrete covered with plaster, drywall, or
other ¿nishing material. If mounting to concrete surfaces covered with a ¿nishing surface is
unavoidable, the ¿nishing surface must be counterbored as shown below. Be sure concrete
anchors do not pull away from concrete when tightening screws. If plaster/drywall is thicker than
5/8" (16 mm), custom fasteners must be supplied by installer.

Cables can be routed along the side interior of
the column as shown in ¿gure 2.1.
NOTE: For best system performance, route the
power cables separately from the signal cables.
Cable Management
Attach column connector (E) to mounted
column (A). Then attach additional column (sold
separately) to column connector (E) as shown in
¿gure 3.1.
See step 1 to secure additional column (sold
separately) to wall.

POZNÁMKA: Pokud instalujete poliþku SmartMount® na AV komponenty (prodává se samostatnČ)
nebo další stojany SmartMount® se správou kabelĤ, pĜed montáží odstraĖte koncová víþka.
Vyrovnejte nástČnný držák (A) a použijte ho jako šablonu pro vyznaþení dvou montážních otvorĤ
podél stĜedové linie dĜevČného sloupku. Vyvrtejte dva otvory s prĤmČrem 5 mm hluboké 76 mm.
Nasaćte nástČnný držák (A) na stČnu pomocí dvou šroubĤdo dĜeva (C) do stĜedu sloupku.
Výstraha: Šrouby nedotahujte pĜíliš silnČ, jinak mĤže dojít k poškození. Výstraha: Šrouby do dĜeva
musí být ve stĜedu sloupku. UtáhnČte upínadla a potom zakryjte šrouby do dĜeva þ. 14 x 2,5" (C)
