Setup in Conned Space
2. Setup of Pelsue Airpac:
Choose a location where installation will provide suitable proximity to the work area yet minimize obstructions during use
and in the event a rescue is necessary. Once a location is chosen;
a. To attach the blower to the Airpac, align the handle of the blower with the rivet specied on the instruction plate.
Then insert the blower outlet into the Airpac inlet and rotate the blower clockwise briskly until the handles align.
(Refer to Fig. #5.2b)
b. The blower should be placed 1.5 meters upwind where possible, from the conned space, and have its inlet
pointed into the wind. This will reduce the chance of contamination being blown into the conned space. (Refer to
Fig. #5.2c)
c. Unbuckle the hose retainer then extend and place the blower hose as required.
d. To detach the blower from the Airpac, rotate the blower handle counter clockwise until the blower handle aligns
with the same rivet specied before and pull the units apart. (Refer to Fig. #5.2d)
d. Feed the hose back into the Airpac housing and buckle the retainer straps to hold the hose in for storage or trans-
portation.
5.2 - Start-Up & Operating Procedures (continued)
Important Notes:
- During conned space entry operations, it should not be assumed that the ventilator will maintain the air
inside the conned space at a safe condition. When the ventilator is in use, the air inside the conned space
should be monitored continuously for the presence of poisonous gases and/or toxic fumes.
- Ensure that the blower provides positive airow the entire time during usage. The axial blower can be used
with an accessory Pelsue Air Flow Alarm (#123717-001) in order to alert the entrants that positive ventilation
is lost.
!WARNING! - The user must ensure that
the power cord is correctly installed in order
to prevent damage to the product and injury
to the operator.
