Important: The dental operatory system is designed for use in a dental environment and must be operated
under the supervision of a trained, licensed professional.
Safety Notes
This unit is not used in rooms where an explosion hazard exists.
The pre-installation of the facility must be performed in accordance with the requirements outlined in our "Pre-installa-
tion" Instructions.
As the manufacturer of dental equipment, we can only assume responsibility from the safety related performance of the
unit, if maintenance and repair are carried out by the manufacturer, or by agencies authorized by Pelton & Crane for this
purpose, and if needed components affecting the safety of the appliance are replaced exclusively by original spare-parts.
We suggest that you request a certificate stating the type and extent of the work performed, from those performing such
work, if necessary stating any alterations of the rated parameters or operating ranges, as well as date, name of organi-
zation and signature.
This type of appliance is in classified with the requirements of UL60601-1 and CSAC22.2, No. 60601.1-03. Due to legal
regulations, alterations of the treatment unit, which could impair the safety of the operator, patient, or third parties, are not
lawful! For reasons of product safety, only original Pelton & Crane accessories approved for this product, or accessories
by third parties, which have been approved by Pelton & Crane, may be used. Using non-approved accessories is at the

Upper Storage
1. The left and right center pull down modules (A) provide
storage for most optional dental equipment.An elec-
trical cutout (B) is located inside of each of module.
These cutouts provide access to the electrical supply
when storing optional equipment inside of modules.
Optional modules are available and are interchange-
able in place of the standard pull-down module.
2. The center two drawer storage (C) and the integrated
control panel are in a central location at fingertip reach.
The two drawers can be utilize for frequently used den-
tal supplies or storing patient information.
3. The integrated membrane touchpad with clock and
timer (D) provides controls to activate the optional
auxiliary equipment at a press of a button. Also, the
control panel’s power switch controls power to the task
lights located in the midsection modules.

Base Section
5. The left and right center door modules (H) comes stan-
dard with two adjustable shelves. These modules pro-
vides ample storage area when storing a CPU.
Vented door modules are available for CPU storage
along with other optional modules that are inter-
changeable with the door module.
6. Center base bi-fold section (J) houses the doctor’s
and assistant’s delivery system including integrated
water. When not in use, the deliveries can be stored
behind the bi-fold doors.

Midsection
4. The left and right center flip up modules (E) provide
two dedicated electrical outlets and can accommo-
date frequently used dental equipment such as amal-
gamator and x-ray view box. Once procedure is com-
pleted the equipment can be stored inside the mod-
ules.
Optional flat screen monitor mount (F) can be installed
in place of the pull down module located in Zone A.In
addition, an optional multi-position tray holder with tray
(G) can be installed inside the module and can be
stored away from view.

Base Section (CONT’D)
1. Center base bi-fold section (Q) houses the doctor’s
and assistant’s delivery system including integrated
water. When not in use, the deliveries can be stored
behind the bi-fold doors.

Executive doctor’s delivery (K) is equipped with one
quick clean syringe and three handpiece holders that
swivels for custom positioning. Also standard is a
stainless steel tray positioned on the delivery control.
Assistant’s instrumentation (L) is equipped with one
quick clean syringe, an autoclavable HVE and saliva
ejector. It is also equipped with a detachable delivery
that can be mounted to the cabinet’s quick connect
(M) attachment when in use or stored away along
with the doctor’s delivery.
The water bottles (N) for integrated water system or
the optional Vista Clear integrated water line treat-
ment system are located underneath the doctor’s de-
livery system.
Located on the wall of the center base cabinet, is the
main power switch (P) and the four electrical outlets
(Q).Two of these outlets are controlled from the con-
trol pane when running auxiliary equipment.

Cabinetry Function
Electrical Supply
Electrical power for the cabinet is supplied by the 115V
main power source for the operatory.
The Executive is equipped with a constant power switch
(A) located on the wall of the center base cabinet. Flip
switch up to have constant power to the cabinetry and
to operate the control panel. It is not necessary to turn
the power switch off at the end of the day.
CAUTION: The total electrical capacity for
the cabinet is listed at 12 amps., 15 amp.

1. Four Electrical outlets are located in the center
base. Two of these outlets are controlled by the
control panel’s auxiliary switches Aux.1 and Aux.
2that can control the on/off function of optional
equipment such as x-ray view box.
The other two outlets run constant power.
2. Electrical outlets are located in the midsection
inside the flip up modules. These outlets are pow-
ered by the cabinet’s On/Off switch located on
clock/timer module. Optional equipment may be
powered by these outlets.
The control panel is powered by the cabinetry’s
main power switch located in the center base cabi-
net. Press control panel’s ON/OFF power switch
to “ON” (A). NOTE: The light on the switch will
illuminate to indicate power is available.
When an accessory is plugged into the auxiliary
outlets in the center base, it is remotely controlled
through the control panel’s auxiliary switches (B
& C). Ensure power is on to the control panel.
Press the Aux. 1 and Aux. 2 to operate optional
equipment. Press buttons once more to turn power
off.

Cabinetry Function
Control Panel Function
The control panel is located in the upper center sec-
tion below the drawer modules.
This panel controls power to the auxiliary equipment
and the year, month, date, and time can be set. Also
a timer is available when monitoring the time for a
dental procedure.
To set the panels functions, proceed as follows:
Press control panel’s ON/OFF power switch to “ON”
(A). NOTE: The light on the switch will illumi-
nate to indicate power is available.
As previously stated, when an accessory is plugged
into the auxiliary outlets in the center base, it is
remotely controlled through the control panel’s aux-
iliary switches (B & C). To activate the auxiliary
equipment, press Aux. 1 or Aux. 2. Press auxil-
iary switch again to turn power off.
An integrated clock (D) is located in the panel for
added convenience.
YEAR/MONTH/HOUR/MIN: Pressandhold MODE
switch(E)for three seconds. Once display flashes,
press the UP(F) and DOWN (G) switch to set. Press
MODE switch again to set month, hour and minutes.
Continue to press MODE switch and display will re-
turn to time mode.
TIMER (H): The timer is programmable from one
second to 99 minutes and 59 seconds.

timer, presstimer switch.Press the UP(F) or DOWN
(G)buttontosetincrementalseconds.Whenpress-
ing and holding the up or down buttons, the timer
will set seconds automatic increments.
To activate the count down time press the TIMER
switch once more. The display will start counting
down. Once count reaches zero, three (3) beeps
will sound and continue to sound every five sec-
onds until the timer switch is press to deactivate it.
To stop a countdown or return to clock mode, sim-
ply press the TIMER switch.

WARNING: Maximum additional weight
that can be added to the control head is
10 lbs. Do not exceed the maximum
weight capacity.
Doctor’s Delivery System Function
Handpiece Holder
Ensure that the handpiece to be installed have the
proper connectors for the supplied tubings.
Install the connectors onto handpiece and place
handpiece into their appropriate holders. Standard
handpiece positions for a right handed operator is as
follows (viewed from left to right):
(1)- Air/Water Syringe
(2)- High/Low Speed

CAUTION: When installing and using in-
struments and attachments, refer to all
manufacturer’s instructions and recom-
mendations before operating instruments.
CAUTION: Do not activate syringe while
tip is in direct contact with skin.
CAUTION: Avoid running handpiece for
extended periods longer than what is nec-
essary to check pressure. Extended run-
ning with no load can damage the hand-
piece. After operating handpiece, ensure
that it is returned to it’s original hanger.

Foot Control Function
The foot control controls drive air and coolant wa-
ter for the treatment instruments.
•For Drive Air: Depress the center pedal (B). For
more drive air, further depress pedal.
•For Coolant Water and Air: Switch the toggle
(C) right, to the ON position. Depress the center
pedal (B).
• Further depressing of the pedal (A) will gradually
increase drive air and coolant water/air when acti-
vated.
Florescent Light (A)
Two 12”-10 watt fluorescent task lights located in the
midsections, are automatically activated when the
control panel’s power switch is ON. The lights will
remain on until the control panel power is deacti-
vated.

Doctor’s Delivery System Function
OPERATION
Master On/Off Toggle (A)
Flip switch to “ON” to activate air and water to the
doctor’s delivery. When unit is not in use, switch unit
to the “OFF” position.
CAUTION: To prevent accidental flooding, it
is required that the control head

not in use.
Air Coolant Control (B)
The air coolant flow control will affect all of the hand-
piece positions in unison. Since the air coolant charac-
teristics of most handpiece are similar, one setting is
normally acceptable for all of your handpiece.
Note that some handpieces draw their air coolant from
the drive air. These include any handpiece that uses a
2-hole handpiece tubing, as well as some that have a
coaxial swivel connector. These handpiece will not be
affected by the air coolant adjustment.
1. On the foot control, flip the wet-dry toggle OFF (away
from the blue dot). Install a bur in the handpiece that
you are going to run while making this adjustment.
2. Step on the foot control to run the handpiece at half
speed. While the handpiece is running, turn the air
coolant flow control to achieve the desired flow.
3. If you have the optional chip blower button on your
foot control, you may wish to double-check your ad-
justment to be sure you have satisfactory air flow for
this function as well.
Water Coolant Control (C)
The water coolant characteristics vary significantly from
one handpiece to another, so individual flow controls are
provided. Perform the following steps to adjust the water
coolant for each handpiece.
1. After adjusting the air coolant as described above,
flip the wet-dry toggle on the foot control ON (toward
the blue dot). Install a bur in the handpiece for which
you are making this adjustment.
2. Turn the water coolant flow control knob clockwise
to its stop. Step on the foot control to run the hand-
piece at medium speed. Gradually open the flow con-
trol (counterclockwise) until a fine mist appears
around the bur.
3. This setting achieves optimum cooling, while mini-
mizing the creation of potentially hazardous aerosols.

Doctor’s Delivery System Function
Flush Function (D)
This is a momentary toggle that flushes out the hand-
piece with water when activated. Hold the handpiece
over a suitable container and activate the toggle to
flush the handpiece and water lines for at least 20
seconds.
NOTE: It is recommended that the flush feature
be activated after each patient. This helps elimi-
nate possible bacterial contamination in hand-
piece and water lines.
E-Motor Control Valve (E)
This valve adjusts the speed intensity for the e-motor.
To obtain maximum speed, turn valve clockwise fully
and depress the foot control completely. To lower
speed, turn the valve counterclockwise.
Scaler Control Valve (F)
This valve adjusts the speed intensity for the scaler.
To obtain maximum speed, turn valve clockwise fully
and depress the foot control completely. To lower
speed, turn the valve counterclockwise. Scaler will
deactivate when returned to the handpiece holder.
Forward/Reverse Switch for Scaler or E-Motor (G)
This toggle switch allows the handpiece bur to re-
verse rotation. When toggle is flip forward, and foot
control is activated, the bur rotates clockwise. When
flipped to the back, the bur rotation becomes coun-
terclockwise.
Handpiece Oil Collector (H)
The handpiece oil collector is located on the under-
side of the delivery head. It collects the excess oil
coming from the handpiece. Before using the hand-
piece, remove the collector by turning it counterclock-
wise. Place 3 pieces of 2 x 2 gauze inside the col-
lector. Reinstall collector but do not overtighten.
Integrated Water System (J)
The city/water control knob allows the user to choose
between controlled water from the water bottle or city
water from the city municipal water supply.

CAUTION: Never operate any handpiece with-
out a bur in the chuck. When there is no bur
in place, parts of the chuck are loose, caus-
ing the turbine to be out of balance, poten-
tially damaging the handpiece.

WARNING: When using or replacing an instru-
ment or syringe accessories i.e., tips, drill bits,
ensure that accessories are securely engaged
into the instruments locking mechanism to
prevent accidental injury.
NOTE: After using instruments, ensure that
handpiece are returned to it's original holder.
CAUTION: Do not activate syringe while tip is
in direct contact with skin.
Vacuum System
The levers on the HVE (F)and saliva ejector (G)
valve bodies manually control vacuum flow. To in-
crease flow, lower lever downward.To decrease flow,
raise lever upward. Maximum flow occurs when le-
ver is in lowermost position.
High Volume Evacuator (F)
The saliva ejector accepts disposable and non-dis-
posable tips with an outside diameter of 7/16" (1.1
cm).
Saliva Ejector (G)
The saliva ejector accepts disposable and non-dis-
posable tips with an outside diameter of 1/4" (.64
cm).
CAUTION: Care must be taken when using the
saliva ejector or HVE. Do not point the tip of
the instrument directly on the patients cheeks
or gums.

Unit Quick Connect
The assistant’s instrumentation can be utilized in
four different locations.Two connectors are located
on each front bottom corner of the doctor’s delivery
(A). The other two are located underneath the front
corner of the pull out countertops (B) therefore pro-
viding left or right assistant’s delivery.
To remove the assistant’s instrumentation, Simply
press the two buttons (C) in on the unit. To install
unit into preferred connector, press buttons and snap
unit in place.

OPERATION
Self Contained Water Supply (A)
This unit is equipped with a self-contained water
system that allows the user to isolate their
practice from the municipal water supply. The
self-contained water system use pressurized
bottles to supply water to the unit, giving full
control of the source and quality of the water.
A selector valve on the doctor’s delivery allows
the user to select either city water supply or
bottled water supply.
Using Bottled Water
Fill water bottles and install it on the receptacle
located under the doctor’s delivery.Tighten the
bottle firmly to prevent leakage.
Turn the unit ON (B) and check for leakage at
the bottle. If air or water leakage is observed,
turn the unit OFF (B) to release all pressure
before tightening the bottle to stop the leaking.
Select either bottle by flipping the selector
toggle (D) to right bottle or to the left bottle.
Select either city water or bottled water, using
the selector valve.
Changing the Bottles
Turn unit OFF (B) and allow several seconds for
air pressure to be released from the bottles.
Never attempt to remove the bottles while it
is pressurized!
After releasing pressure, remove the empty
bottles and install a full one.
Turn unit ON (B) and check for leakage at the
bottle, as previously described.
WARNING: Do not use any bottle other than
the pressurized bottle provided. Never use
standard soft drink bottles, which my fail
under pressure. Do not attempt to adjust the
water pressure, which is preset at the
factory. Pressurizing the bottle over 40 psi
may cause it to rupture.

DISINFECTING AND STERILIZATION
Infectioncontrol in the dental office continues to
be a high priority for our customers and end users.
OSHA,theADAand the CDCare also involved in this
complex issue.
TheManufacturer will not attempt to specify the
requiredintervals for disinfectionnor canit recom-
mendthe overallbest surface disinfectant. Please
refertothe Infection ControlRecommendations
publishedby theAmerican DentalAssociationfor
furtherinformation. The questionis oftenasked,
“What should I use to disinfect my dental unit, chair
and light?” This question is more complex than it
seemsbecause of the wide variety of products on the
market as well as formulations of the products
changing to meet the needs of increased asepsis.
Barrier Technique
TheManufacturerstronglyadvocates the barrier
techniquebeused wheneverpossibleto preserve thefinish
andappearanceof theequipment. Whereverpossible
disposablebarriersshould beused and changedbetween
patients. Thebarrier techniquewill ensuremaximum long
termdurability of the surfaces and finishes ofthe equip-
ment.
Chemical Disinfection
Regardless of the chemical disinfectant used, it is
imperativethat the equipmentbe thoroughly washed with
mild soap and warm water at least once per day. This
washdown willminimize the harmful effects ofchemical
disinfectantresidues beingallowed to accumulate on the
equipment.
When using chemical disinfectants, always pay
strictattention to the manufacturer’s disinfectant direc-
tions. When using concentrated disinfectants, measure
the concentrate carefully and mix according to package
directions. Disinfectantsolutions that are relatively
harmlessto surfaces attheir recommended strengths can
becorrosive at higherthan recommendeddilution ratios.

warrantyexpressed orimplied that these disinfectants willnot damagethe surface finishes. Damage and discolora-
tionof thesurface finishes are not coveredunder thewarranty.
**Iodophor-baseddisinfectants will cause yellow stainingon manysurfaces. Regular washingwith soapand
waterwill minimize thisstaining. Iodophor neutralizers suchas Promedyne are also available.
Vacuum Utilities Note: To ensure unrestricted flow of the assistant vacuum utilities, it is recommended that
they be flushed with a non-foaming detergent at least once weekly. This process will greatly reduce buildup and will
allowfor propervacuum operationat alltimes.
Syringe Note: Toavoid damageto your syringe, it isnecessary thatonly the Manufacturer’sreplacement
partsare used. Useof any other manufacturer’spart willdamage thesyringe and void itswarranty.

Disinfecting the Surfaces
Disinfect cabinet surfaces by spraying or wiping with surface disinfectant using the spray-wipe-spray technique as
endorsed by OSAP (Office Sterilization and Asepsis Procedures).
CAUTION: Follow the manufacturer’s directions for use of disinfectants! Use only the disinfectants
that have been tested and approved!
For additional infection control as well as to reassure your patients that you are following strong protective prac-
tices, we strongly recommend the use of coverings such as plastic, foil or treated paper or autoclavable compo-
nents (such as light handles, assistant’s instrumentation cover, tray mat, etc.) as well as the use of surface
cleaners and disinfectants either daily or following each patient, depending on the circumstances.
Cleaning the Surfaces
To remove dirt and disinfectant residues, clean the surfaces regularly with a normal commercial cleaning agent.
CAUTION: DO NOT use abrasive cleaners! Doing so can cause damage to the cabinet surface.
Cleaning Agents
Because of their high concentration and the substances they contain, many cleaning agents can affect surfaces by
dissolving, etching, bleaching or discoloring! Carefully wipe surface with a damp cloth and use a appropriate
cleaning agent to lessen potential damage!

General Care
Wipe the surface with a damp cloth. If stain develops, clean with soap and water. Or if preferred,
Windex® can be used. Always towel dry to prevent spotting.
CAUTION: Do not use Formula 409

or Fantastik

to clean the solid surfacing. Chemicals in these
products could fade the surface .
Removing Stains
When stains do not clean with soap and water, take the following steps.
Using a circular motion, apply an abrasive cleaner such as Bon Ami and buff with a Scotch-Brite® pad.
IMPORTANT: When buffing, sanding or applying abrasive cleaners, always use a circular motion to
preserve original countertop finish.
Cuts and Scratches- SINK ONLY
Minor scratches are repairable by using 040 steel wool (provided with unit). Using the steel wool, rub
surface lightly in a circular motion. Wipe the surface, then follow with an abrasive cleaner. End by
buffing with a maroon or green Scotch-Brite® pad.
Hygiene
Pelton & Crane Solid Surfacing is nonporous and provides an inhospitable environment for germ or
mildew growth.With proper care and cleaning, the countertop will remain very sanitary.
General Precautions
•Do not set hot items directly onto the countertop. Excessive heat can mar the countertop.
•Do not use sharp objects directly on the countertop.Although minor scratches and cuts can be repaired,
care should be taken to keep the surface looking new.
•Do not expose surface to harsh chemicals such as paint remover, turpentine, nail polish remover contain-
ing acetone, or stove or drain cleaners. If these chemicals comes in contact with the surface, immedi-
ately wash surface off with water using appropriate precautions. Buff in a circular motion with Scotch-
Brite® pad.

Cleaning Stainless Steel Fixtures
General Care
Clean surface using warm water with a mild non-scratching abrasive powders such as typical household
cleaner. Wipe with a sponge or a clean cloth. Do not use steel brushes or steel wool as they may cause
scratches and will leave particles embedded on the surface which can lead to RUSTING.
For more aggressive cleaning, a small amount of vinegar can be added to the cleaner. Rinse the surface with
warm water. Once thoroughly rinsed, wipe the surface completely with a dry towel to avoid water spots.
Stains
Stains resulting from normal use are the most common surface contaminates. Using a glass cleaner, spray
and gently wipe the surface with a soft cloth. Thoroughly rinse with warm water. Wipe surface completely
with a dry towel to avoid water spots.
Tough stains may require a combination of detergent plus a solvent such as non-halogenated products that
does not contain chlorine, iodine, bromine or astatine. Pour solvent onto the stain, rub in the direction of the
grain. Rinse the surface with warm water. Once thoroughly rinsed, wipe the surface completely with a dry
towel to avoid water spots.
ScratchRepair
Repair surface scratches using the following technique. Using 120 grit emery cloth or paper, sand in the
direction of the grain using firm pressure. Once scratch is removed, polish surface using a 3M scotch brite
pads. Polish in the direction of the grain until the original finish is restored.

Daily Maintenance
Purging with air: At the end of every day, the lines should be purged with air to reduce the growth
of biofilm.
1. Remove handpiece from tubings.
2. Empty the water bottle, then reinstall it.
3. Hold the handpiece tubings and syringe over the sink. Turn the unit on, wait a few moments, then operate
the flush toggle, syringe and foot control until the water is purged from the system.
4. Turn the unit off.
Weekly Maintenance
The weekly cleaning procedure should be performed at least once a week, preferably at the start of
the week before treating patients. If the unit is to be stored for any length of time, perform the weekly
maintenance routine immediately before and after storage.
1. Purge the unit with air (see Daily Maintenance).
2. Flush the system with disinfectant solution:
a. Turn the unit off. Empty the water bottle, replacing the water with cleaning solution (see Disinfectant
Solution).
b. Hold the handpiece tubings and syringe over the sink. Turn the unit on, wait a few moments, then
operate the flush toggle, syringe and foot control until a continuous stream of solution is running
through the system.
3. Allow the disinfectant to remain in the unit for 10 to 20 minutes, then flush the system again until all the
solution is used up.
4. Purge the unit with air:
a. Hold the handpiece tubings and syringe over a container. Turn the unit on, wait a few moments, then
operate the flush toggle, syringe and foot control until all solution is purged from the system.
b. Turn the unit off. (If the unit will be stored, stop here.)
5. Fill with clean water:
a. With the unit turned off, remove the empty disinfectant bottle. Replace with clean bottle and water.
b. Hold the handpiece tubings and syringe over the sink. Turn the unit on, wait a few moments, then
operate the flush toggle, syringe and foot control until a continuous stream of water is flowing through
the system. Replace handpiece and the unit is now ready for use.
Cleaning System’s Waterline
Disinfectant Solution:
Use 100 ml of disinfectant solution for each application per week. Always use a fresh mixture every
week.
9 parts (90 ml)
Tap water
1 part (10 ml)
Disinfectant Solution
Disinfecting the bottle: Add 100 ml disinfectant solution such as Team Vista into bottle, shake
vigorously and let it settle for 10 minutes. Shake again, then rinse twice with water.
CAUTION: Disinfection and sterilization of instruments and tips
must occur between patients to avoid cross contamination.
CAUTION: Wear gloves and eyewear
during dental procedures or before
performing maintenance on the unit.
CAUTION: Disinfect new water bottle prior to use.

Cleaning Assistant’s Instrumentation
After Each Patient
Draw clean water through each valve, while
opening and closing it several times. Leave the
valve open for several seconds to allow all of the
water to clear the hoses. The HVE and Saliva
Ejector tips should always be replaced with sterile
ones before each patient.
At the End of Each Day
We recommend that you draw a vacuum system
sanitizing solution through each valve, while
opening and closing it.
Cleaning
Clean the external surfaces of the vacuum
instruments using a solution of mild detergent and
warm water. Thoroughly rinse the syringe with
clear water, then dry with a clean, soft, lint-free
cloth.
CAUTION: Do not use ultrasonic cleaning
methods, since the chemicals involved may
damage the surface finishes of the instrument.
CAUTION: Do not use sodium hypochlorite on
these instruments doing so will cause perma-
nent damage.
Never use powdered cleansers, scouring pads or
abrasive scrubbers, any of which can damage the
finishes.
Sterilization
Remove each valve from its tubing for sterilization.
In any situation involving high-risk patients, it is
recommended that the instruments be removed for
sterilization after every patient. Instructions for
disinfecting and sterilizing the vacuum instruments
may be found on page 22 of this manual.
CAUTION: Temperature should never exceed
275° F or 135° C. Do not allow the instrument
to contact the walls of the sterilizer, and avoid
placing it in close proximity to the heating
elements.
As Needed
Disassemble the valve and lubricate the internal
parts when operation becomes stiff or sticky.
Clean the inner surfaces and apply a small amount
of lubricant to the moving parts and O-rings.
