Introduction
Thank you for purchasing PENTAGRAM Vanquish VOLT (P 5103).
This player perfectly combines digital audio playing (MP3, OGG, WMA,
WAV, FLAC and APE), voice and FM recording, FM radio, FM
transmitter and USB mass storage (pendrive).

Getting started
Safety precautions
•Please avoid placing player directly in the sunlight or dusty, humid
place or place with extremely low or high temperatures (i.e. car with
closed windows in summer);
•Please avoid dropping or impact upon player;
•Don't let liquid or objects into player;
•Don't use chemicals, such as gasoline or other diluents, upon
player's surface;
•Clean player only with soft cloth;
•Before cleaning, disconnect player from computer or other power
source;

•Please do not disassemble any part of the unit, any unauthorized
disassembling will cause termination of PENTAGRAM official
warranty;
•Please don't use wet hand to plug/unplug or contact player for
preventing shock or damage;
•Please don't unplug player while data is transferring with the
computer, otherwise the data may be lost;
•Please don't judder, otherwise player may be damaged;
•Files or data stored in player cannot completely avoid being
destroyed or lost due to improper use or other reasons. Please
backup files and data when necessary;
Battery charging
When you start using the unit, please fully charge and discharge the
battery 2 - 3 times to ensure maximum battery life and power capacity.

To charge battery:
•connect player to computer’s USB port;
•connect player to power outlet via attached power adapter;
•connect player to car lighter socket via car USB charger (not
included).

Turning the player on
To turn the player on / off, press and hold Power button for 3 seconds.
Buttons
All buttons have their main functions available at all times and functions
which depend on current selected mode.
General
Power (short press) – displays current time and date (works also when
player is turned off).
Power (hold for 3sec) – power on/off the player.
REC (short press) – enter Recorder mode and start recording.
REC (hold for 3sec) – enable/disable key lock.
–and +– volume control.
BACK (hold) – return to previous/main menu.
Main Menu:
◄and ►– select main menu options.
PLAY – confirm selection.
BACK (hold) – return to previous/main menu.
Submenu / file list
◄and ►– select submenu/list option.
PLAY – confirm selection.
BACK (hold) – return to previous menu.
BACK (short press) – display menu for selected item.
Navigation
Main Menu
Use ◄and ►buttons to navigate through the main menu and press
PLAY to confirm selection. You can return to Main menu anytime by
holding BACK button pressed.

Now Playing Mode
This mode is used to play files selected in Music mode (MP3, OGG,
WMA, FLAC, APE) or Recorded files mode (WAV). This mode is
activated when player is turned on. Buttons functions in this mode are:
PLAY – play / pause current audio file.
PLAY (hold) – change equalizer mode.
◄/ ►– previous / next song.
◄/ ►(hold) – rewind / fast forward current song.
BACK (short press) – enter A-B Replay mode (see below).
A-B Replay
In A-B Replay mode, player will repeat the fragment of music file
selected by the user.
•Press BACK button while file is playing (in Playback mode) to set
starting point A(icon A- will appear on screen).
•Press BACK button (in Playback mode) to set the ending point B.
A- icon will be changed to A-B icon and selected fragment between
point Aand Bwill be repeated indefinetely.
•To disable A-B Replay press BACK button (in Playback mode).
Music Mode
In this mode you can select music files (MP3, OGG, WMA, FLA and
APE) to be played in Now Playing mode. WAV files can be selected in
Recorded files mode. There are two methods of playlist creation:
•By browsing category/file list and selecting single file.
If file was selected in All songs, all files found in player/card
memory will be played starting with selected file.
If file was selected in category other than All songs, whole
album will be played starting with selected file.
•By using Folder Play option from category menu (see below).
Category Menu
You can access this menu, by pressing BACK button while category is
selected. Using Play folder option in this menu will create playlist,
which contents and sorting type will reflect contents of this category.

Below you can find example, on how playlist is created with Play
Folder option for different selected category:
•For Artists category – playlist will contain all songs of all artists and
will be sorted by artist name, album name and track number (or
filename).
•For artist name in Artists category – playlist will contain all songs
of selected artist and will be sorted by album name and track
number (or filename).
•For album name of artist selected from Artists category – playlist
will contain all songs of selected album and will be sorted by track
number (or filename).
File Menu
You can access this menu, by pressing BACK button while file is
selected. Use Delete File option in this menu, to delete selected file or
use Add to Favourite option, to add file to the Favourites category.
Recorder Mode
This mode can be used to record sound using a built-in microphone
(select Recorder option from Main Menu) or FM Radio mode (select
Record from FM Radio option in FM Radio mode submenu). Buttons
functions in this mode are:
PLAY – start / pause recording.
BACK (hold) or REC – save recorded file and exit mode.
You can also enter Recorder mode for quick-start recording by
pressing the REC button directly.
Recorded files Mode
In this mode you can select recorded files (WAV) to be played in
Playing mode. MP3, OGG, WMA, FLAC and APE files can be selected
in Music mode. File selection and playlist creation is identical as in
Music mode, but only two category are used:
•Voice – files recorded with builtin microphone.
•FM Radio – files recorded from FM Radio.

FM Radio Mode
This mode is a FM tuner. In this mode the earphones are used as
antenna and they should be connected before station searching.
Buttons functions in this mode are:
PLAY – change equalizer mode.
BACK – FM mode submenu.
◄/ ►(Manual search mode) – change frequency by 0,1MHz, hold to
fast frequency change.
◄/ ►(Preset mode) – previous / next preset.
Submenu
Preset stations – using ◄and ►buttons, select saved preset and
press PLAY button, to tune radio to this frequency.
Save Preset – using ◄and ►buttons, select preset and press PLAY
button, to save current frequency to this preset. Frequency won’t be
saved, if it’s already on preset list.
Delete Preset – using ◄and ►buttons, select preset and press PLAY
button, to delete it.
Manual search – use this option to manually tune stations. To exit this
mode save station using Save Preset option or select previously saved
preset from Preset stations option.
Auto search – use this option to perform autoscan of radio band. All
found stations will be saved as presets. This will overwrite existing
preset list.
Record from FM Radio – record from FM radio. Please refer to
Recorder Mode section for more details.
FM Transmitter Mode
In this mode you can enable and configure FM transmission function of
the player. Entering submenu and changing frequency is available only
when FM transmission is disabled. Buttons functions in this mode are:
PLAY – enable or disable FM transmission. Enabling transmission also
saves current frequency to the preset list.
BACK – FM Transmitter mode submenu.
◄/ ►(Manual search mode) – change frequency by 0,1MHz, hold to
fast frequency change.
◄/ ►(Preset mode) – previous / next preset.

Submenu
Manual search – use this option to manually tune frequency. To save
frequency, enable transmission on desired frequency. To exit this mode
select previously saved preset from Preset stations option.
Preset stations – using ◄and ►buttons, select saved preset and
press PLAY button, to tune transmitter to this frequency.
Delete Preset – using ◄and ►buttons, select preset and press PLAY
button, to delete it.
eBook Mode
In this mode you can read text files in TXT and LRC format. These files
must be located in root folder of player’s memory. First screen
displayed after entering this mode is file selection. If selected file was
viewed before you will have opportunity to resume from last page.
Buttons functions in this mode are:
◄/ ►– previous / next page.
BACK (short press) – eBook mode Submenu.
BACK (hold) – return to file selection.
Submenu
Turn the page – select time after which page will be changed.
Set bookmark – select position in witch bookmark will be saved.
Go to bookmark – select position of the bookmark you wish to go to.
Explorer Mode
In this mode you can browse through internal and external memory of
the player. Pressing PLAY button on supported file will open it in
corresponding mode. Pressing BACK on folder will display menu with
option of creating playlist from it’s content. Pressing BACK on any file
will display menu: use Delete File option in this menu, to delete
selected file or use Add to Favourite option, to add file to the
Favourites category.

Settings Menu
Functions Menu is used to configure various player functions.
Sound:
•Equalizer – select one of Equalizer presets. If Custom EQ #
equalizer is selected, it’s configuration screen will be displayed in
which ◄/ ►are used to adjust frequency, +/ –to change value of
selected frequency and PLAY to save and exit configuration. Short
press BACK button to set current frequency to default value. Hold
BACK button to exit configuration without saving.
•SRS System – select one of the SRS effects and its value.
Play Mode – select play mode:
•Normal – plays all files once.
•Repeat One – repeats selected file continuously.
•Repeat All – repeats all files continuously.
•Random – plays all files in random order.
Time & date – use ◄/ ►buttons to select field and press PLAY to
enter edit mode, in which ◄/ ►buttons will change selected field’s
value. Press PLAY to exit edit mode. When you’re done press BACK to
save and exit.
Screen Off – select idle time after which screen will be turned off.
Lyrics – enable or disable lyrics display during music file playback.
System – various system informations and options:
•Memory – displays version of player’s firmware and used / free
memory space (on player and memory card).
•Default – select Yes to revert player’s settings to their factory
defaults.
•Format – select Yes to format player’s memory.
Language – select menu language.
Auto off:
•Turning off – select idle time after which player will be turned off.
•Sleep time – select idle time after which player will enter sleep
mode.
Recorder – additional Recorder mode settings:
•Volume – select volume of all recorded files.
•Record mode – select, whether voice recording will be voice
activated or controlled with buttons.

•Location – select target destination for recorded files - player’s
Memory or microSD card.
Fade-in – when enabled, every song will begin with a fade-in.
FM Area – select region in which FM radio will be used.
Auto return – select idle time after which player will return to currently
used mode.
Battery – displays status of player’s battery.
Earguard – enables or disables Earguard feature, which will gradually
reduce playback volume with time to protect user’s ears from prolonged
exposure to loud music.
IDTag Speed – select scrolling speed of song’s information in Now
Playing mode.
Resume playing – when this option is enabled, turning on the player
will also resume playback of last played song.
Connecting to computer
In Windows Me/2000/XP/Vista, the player is detected as removable
disc connected to USB port. Second device corresponds to player’s
memory card reader. When connected to computer, the player is being
powered from USB port and it’s functions are unavailable.
When the player is connected to computer, the current activity is
displayed on player’s screen.
When player is turned on after connecting it to the computer file list may
be updated – this operation can take a while.
Firmware Upgrade
NOTE:
Firmware upgrade improves and optimizes the performance of the
player. The normal work of the player would not be affected even if the
firmware isn’t upgraded. The wrong operation of upgrading firmware
would cause the device not to work normally! The firmware upgrade
software of this player does not apply to other series of players.

Dziękujemy za zakup odtwarzacza PENTAGRAM Vanquish VOLT
(P 5103). Urządzenie odtwarza muzykęw formatach MP3, WMA, OGG,
WAV, FLAC oraz APE. Posiada równieżwbudowane radio FM (UKF) i
cyfrowy dyktafon z możliwościąnagrywania audycji radiowych i notatek
głosowych oraz transmiter (nadajnik) FM. Może równieżspełniaćrolę
