Usage
•Please don't use wet hand to plu /unplu or contact Vanquish RT Video PRO for preventin
shock or dama e.
•Please don't unplu Vanquish RT Video PRO while data is bein transferred to/from the
computer, otherwise the data may be lost.
•Please don't judder, otherwise Vanquish RT Video PRO may be dama ed.
•Please ensure that Vanquish RT Video PRO has enou h free space to save the new recorded
files before recordin .
Others
•The folders named as "RECORDER", "PHOTO", "MOVIE", "EBOOK" and "MUSIC" are system
folders for recorded files, pictures, video files, eBook and tracks.
•"F***WAV" / "V***WAV" are auto- enerated default titles for FM and MIC recorded files.
"***" Presents numbers as 0-9.
•Files or data stored in Vanquish RT Video PRO cannot completely avoid bein destroyed or
lost due to improper use or other reasons. Please backup files and data when necessary.

Thank you for purchasin PENTAGRAM Media Player (Vanquish RT Video PRO). Media Player is a new type
of portable di ital music player, it perfectly combines FM transmittin , di ital audio & video playin ,
recordin , FM tuner and photo/eBook browsin , etc.

Utilities installation
Vanquish RT Video PRO Utilities includes Vanquish RT Video PRO driver (Especially for users on Windows
98/98SE) and Vanquish RT Video PRO Update Tool (PENTAGRAM MP3 Firmware Download).
The installation steps of Vanquish RT Video PRO Utilities are as the followin :
1. You can download the Utilities from http://www.penta ram.eu for installation.
2. Double click the installation file "Setup.exe", the system would install Vanquish RT Video PRO
Utilities automatically.
3. The tool would appear in "Pro rams" of "Start" after bein installed.
Connecting With The Computer
Vanquish RT Video PRO can be connected with the computer throu h USB cable. Connect standard port of
USB cable to the computer, mini port to Vanquish RT Video PRO.

Data Transferring
1. Boot your computer and connect Vanquish RT Video PRO with the computer.
2. The screen of Vanquish RT Video PRO would display "READY" after bein connected.
W Windows 98/98SE/Me/2000/XP/Server 2003: Double click "My Computer", you would find
a new icon named "Removable Disk" (fi .1), representin Vanquish RT Video PRO.
Mac OS 10.2 or above (Mac OS 10.3.2 e. .): A new icon named "NO_NAME" (fi .2) would
appear on the desktop of your computer, representin Vanquish RT Video PRO.
Linux 2.4.2 or above: Enter the system by user I D "root" and input the command "mount
Idev/sda Imnt". This command is to create a directory where Vanquish RT Video PRO would
be mounted.

Note: "sda" is an unfixed input item, please make relevant changes according to Linux
operating discipline.
3. Then you can copy, delete or edit data, just as on a traditional hard disk. While transferrin data
from Vanquish RT Video PRO to the computer, the screen of Vanquish RT Video PRO displays
"READING", while transferrin data from the computer to Vanquish RT Video PRO, the screen of
Vanquish RT Video PRO displays "WRITING".
Disconnecting
Please refer to the followin steps to unplu Vanquish RT Video PRO:
1. Windows 98/98SE: Unplu Vanquish RT Video PRO from USB port of the computer while the
screen of Vanquish RT Video PRO prompts "READY".
2. Windows Me/2000/XP/Server 2003 (Windows 2000 e. .): Click the icon at the taskbar,
then click the "Stop USB Mass Stora e Device - Driver", and click "OK" button in the pop-up
window "The 'USB Mass Stora e Device' device can now be safely removed from the system", then
you can disconnect Vanquish RT Video PRO from the computer safely.
3. Mac OS 10.2 or above (Mac OS 10.3.2 e.g.): Select the icon representin Vanquish RT Video
PRO, click "File", select "Exit NO NAME", then unplu Vanquish RT Video PRO from the computer.
Tips: Please drag Vanquish RT Video PRO icon into Trash, then unplug it from the
computer.
4. Linux 2.4.2 or above: Input the command "umount /mnt" before unplu in Vanquish RT Video
PRO. The "/mnt" directory is correspondin with the "/mnt" mentioned above.

B SIC OPER TIONS
Battery
: The battery is full.
: The battery is exhausted.
1. Charge: You can char e the battery of Vanquish RT Video PRO by connectin it with the computer
throu h USB cable, or connectin it with the ci ar-li hter of car throu h car adapter. When
Vanquish RT Video PRO was char in throu h car adapter, Vanquish RT Video PRO would support
all operations mentioned in "Usa e of Vanquish RT Video PRO" (Except for data transferrin
between Vanquish RT Video PRO and your computer).
2. Intelli-charge: If the volta e is less than 3.7V, you can char e the battery of Vanquish RT Video
PRO by connectin it with the computer, and vice-versa, you can char e the battery by lockin
[HOLD] switch for intelli-char e.
3. Usage of charging by cigar-lighter of car: Please refer to fi .3 to connect Vanquish RT Video
PRO with the ci ar-li hter of car.
Note: PENT GR M is not responsible for any loss arising out of using this cigar-lighter of car.

Keystroke Definitions
Hold: The time of keystroke is about 2 seconds.
Press: The time of keystroke is less than 1 second.
Power On/Off
•To turn on Vanquish RT Video PRO, please hold [OK] button, Vanquish RT Video PRO will
enter the main menu automatically.
•To turn off Vanquish RT Video PRO, please hold [OK] button in playin /pause/stop mode
(except for recordin /paused recordin status) after bein turned on.
•When Vanquish RT Video PRO is in non-USB mode, Vanquish RT Video PRO will turn itself
off automatically if there is no operation durin the time, which can be set in "Setup ->
Power Set". (Please refer to "Setup" for details.)

Hold
This function is used to prevent the buttons from bein operated accidentally.
To lock all buttons please simply lock [HOLD] switch, a lock icon will appear on the screen, and no button
would be able to operate. To release the lock status, please unlock [HOLD] switch.
If try to turn on while [HOLD] switch is locked, Vanquish RT Video PRO will turn off automatically shortly
after promptin "Key Locked", please unlock [HOLD] switch, then try a ain.
RESET
If Vanquish RT Video PRO doesn't respond to any operation, poke the "RESET Hole" where on Vanquish
RT Video PRO to turn off.
You need to turn on Vanquish RT Video PRO a ain to complete the reset process. The settin s of
Vanquish RT Video PRO would return to the last effective settin s before restartin , and all files saved in
Vanquish RT Video PRO may be lost.

Firmware update
You can download the latest update utilities from our website http://www.penta ram.eu to update
Vanquish RT Video PRO. You can also use attached CD disk. The steps are as the followin :
1. Please uninstall previous " Vanquish RT Video PRO " software in your computer at first, then
double click the download file "Setup.exe", it would install new utilities automatically.
2. Run "Start -> Pro rams -> Vanquish RT Video PRO -> Vanquish RT Video PRO Firmware
Download", click "Start" button in the " Vanquish RT Video PRO Firmware Download" window
to be in update. It would display "Complete" after finishin , click "Close" button (fi . 4),
then unplu Vanquish RT Video PRO from the computer to finish.
3. You can click the check box of "Format Data Area" in the window, click "Yes" button on the
question bar (fi . 5) to confirm. Vanquish RT Video PRO would delete all data saved in
Vanquish RT Video PRO while formattin , please backup the data first if necessary!
4. Click "Start" button to be in format. The window would display "Complete" after finishin ,
click "Close" button to finish.

Keystroke operations:

Play/Pause/Stop:
•Press [OK] button to play track.
•Press [OK]button to pause track.
•Hold [OK] button to stop playin in playin /pause status.
Rewind/Forward:
•Continuous hold [/] button to rewind/forward the track.
Select Track:
•Press [/] button to switch to previous/next track.
Volume:
•Press [Volume+/-] button to turn up/down the volume.
Switching Equalizer:
•Press [MODE/FM OUT] button to switch EQ.
-B Repeat:
•Please hold [B CK/ -B] button twice to decide A (start) point and B (end) point while in
playin status, Vanquish RT Video PRO would play the track between A and B repeatedly.
Hold [B CK/ -B] button a ain to exit A-B repeat.

Lyric Show
1. Copy the track and the LRC file into the same folder.
2. Make sure the name of the LRC file is the same as the name of the track, otherwise the lyrics can
not be displayed.
3. Lyrics will be shown synchronously in the "Lyrics Shows" area of the screen durin playin .
Movie
Press [/] button to select MOVIE in main menu, and press [OK]button to enter.
1. Press [/] button to select video file, press [OK] button to play.
2. Press [OK]button to pause/resume.
3. Press [/]button to select and play previous/next video file.
4. Press [/]] button to rewind/forward.
5. Press [Volume+/-] button to turn up/down the volume.
6. Press [BACK/A-B] button to return to Movie menu.
MTV Convert Tool
MTV convert tool can convert video files (AVI, MPG, WMV) into SMV files that Vanquish RT Video PRO
supports. You can download the MTV convert tool from our website
www.penta ram.eu. The convertin
steps are as the followin :

1. Double click the file "vide02smv.exe".
2. Press the icon where beside “Input” to choose the file which you want to convert.
3. Press the icon where beside „Output”, to choose the location where you want to save
the converted file.
4. Press the icon where beside “Frame rate”, to select the frame rate of the converted file.
