- Removal of original band:
1. With the T-5 Torx driver remove all 4
screws from the backside of the FitBit
Surge that attach the band to the display
unit.
NOTE: The screws must be saved to
attach the band adapter (be careful and
work over the pan with edges to prevent
loss of screws)
Place 4 screws in a safe area for re-use in
later steps.
2. Score the sides of the band (not top or
bottom) with a sharp knife (just cutting
the band) to make it easier to pry off.

•T-5 Torx bit Driver
(may be supplied
with product)
•Pan with edge (to keep
screws from getting lost during
disassembly/reassembly)
• Knife (for scoring)

3.Usingasmoothatmetalobject(butter
knife, Cuticle pusher, etc) peel away the
band from the display assembly.
Warning: Be very careful removing the
band on the front sides of the display,
since the Bluetooh and GPS components
are in this area (see illustrations).
4. Clean any glue/adhesive off the display
assembly with a soft cloth and water
Warning: Since sensitive electronics
(Bluetooth and GPS) are exposed, do not
use any harsh detergents to remove the
adhesive (e.g.., no nail polish remover/
acetone, or other chemicals. Do not
submerge unit in water or other liquid.)
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 on the small end of
the display assembly.

6. Locate the Small and Large end
Adapters that were just ordered.

7. Start two of the four screws removed in
Step 1, in the Large end adapter, taking
care not to drive the screws all the way
into the adapter just yet.
8. Place the Large end adapter (with screws
set in from Step-6) over the large end of
the adapter, and now drive the screws
into the display adapter and tighten
hand tight.
9. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the Small End
Adapter, on the small end of the display
assembly.
10. You can now attach any Fitbit Blaze
Bands (sold separately on Amazon) to
your repaired Fitbit Surge.
