SAFETY
INSTRUCTIONS
To
use this tool properly, you
must
observe
the
safety regulations,
the
assembly instructions and
the
operating instructions
to
be found
in
this Manual.
All
persons who use and service
the
machine
have
to
be acquainted with this Manual and must be informed
about
its potential hazards. Children
and infirm people must
not
use this tool. Children should be supervised
at
all times
if
they
are
in
the
area
in
which
the
tool
is
being used.
It
is
also imperative
that
you observe
the
accident
prevention regulations
in
force
in
your area. The same applies for general rules of occupational
health and safety.
The manufacturer shall not be liable for any changes made
to
the
tool nor for any damage
resulting from such changes.
Even
when
the
tool
is
used as prescribed it
is
not possible
to
eliminate all residual
risk
factors. The
following hazards may arise
in
connection with
the
tool's construction and design:
• Contact with
the
blade.
• Kickback of work piece and parts of wo
rk
piece.
• Blade fracture.
• Catapulting
of
blade pieces.
• Damage
to
hearing
if
effective ear defenders are
not
worn.
• Harmful emissions of wood dust when
the
machine
is
used
in
closed rooms. Always use supple-
mentary dust extraction.
•
Do
not
use blades
that
are deformed
or
cracked.
•Always remove
the
battery from
the
tool before making any adjustments or maintenance,
including changing
the
blade.

electric shock and personal injury.

1.
Keep
the
work area clean and tidy. Cluttered work areas
an~
benches invite accidents and injury.

Consider
the
environment
in
which you are working.
Do
not
use power tools
in
damp or
wet
locations.
Keep
the
work area well
lit.
Do
not expose power tools
to
rain and high humidity.
Do
not
use power tools
in
the
presence of flammable liquids or gases.

Keep
visitors away from
the
work area.
All
visitors and onlookers, especially children and infirm
persons should be kept well away from where you are working.
Do
not let others
in
the
vicinity
make contact with
the
tool.

Store tools safely. When
not
in
use, tools should be stored
in
a dry, high place
or
locked up
out
of
reach.

Do
not force
the
tool. The tool will do
the
job
better
and safer working
at
the
rate for which it
was designed.

6.
Use
the
correct tool for the job.
Do
not force small tools or attachments
to
do
the
job best
handled by a heavier duty tool. Never use a tool for a purpose other than
that
for which it was
intended.
7. Dress correctly.
Do
not wear loose clothing or jewelry. They can be caught
in
moving parts.
Rubber gloves and non-slip footwear are recommended when working outdoors.
If
you have long
hair,
wear a protective hair covering.
8.
Use
safety accessories. Safety glasses and ear defenders should always be worn. A face
or
dust
mask
is
9lso required.
9.
Connect dust extraction equipment.
If
devices are provided for
the
connection of dust extraction
and collection facilities, ensure
that
these are connected and properly used.
10. Secure
the
work piece. Use clamps or a vice
to
hold
the
work piece.
It
is
safer than using your
hand and frees both hands
to
operate
the
tool.
11.
Do
not overreach.
Keep
your footing secure and balanced
at
all times.
12.
Look
after your tools.
Keep
tools clean and sharp for
better
and safer performance.
Follow
the
instructions regarding lubrication and accesso
ry
changes.
Keep
tool handles
dry,
clean and free
from oil and grease.
13. Disable idle tools. Remove the battery from the tool before servicing, when changing
accessories and when
the
tool
is
not
in
use.
14. Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Check
to
see
that
keys and adjusting wrenches are
removed from
the
tool before switching on.

oid unintentional starting.
Make
sure
that
the
switch
is
in
the
OFF
position before attaching
the battery.
16. Stay alert. Watch
what
you are doing. Use common sense.
Do
not operate a power tool when
you are tired.
17. Check for damaged par.ts. Before using a tool, check
that
there are no damaged parts.
If
a part
is
slightly damaged, carefully determine it will operate properly and perform its intended function.
Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, proper
mounting and any other conditions
that
may affect the operation of
the
tool. A guard or other
part
that
is
damaged should be properly repaired or replaced
by
an authorised service facility,
unless otherwise indicated
in
this Instruction Manual. Defective switches must be replaced
by
an authorised service facility.
Do
not use a tool
if
the switch does not turn
the
tool on and off
correctly.
18. Guard against electric shock. Prevent body contact with grounded objects such as
water
pipes,
radiators, cookers and refrigerator enclosures.
19.
Use
only approved parts. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts. Use an
authorised service facility
to
fit replacement parts.
20.
Do
not let the tool run unattended. Always wait until your power tool has come
to
a complete
stop before leaving
it,
then turn it off and remove the battery.

ADDITIONAL

RULES
FOR
SAWS
•
Ensur.e
that
the
lighting
is
adequate.
•
Do
not
use
the
saw unless
the
guards are
in
place
•
Do
not
cut
materials
other
than
wood
•
Keep
the
area free
of
tripping hazards.
·Always stand
to
one side when operating
the
saw.
• Never use a cracked or distorted saw blade. Only use sharp blades.
•When
cutting round wood, use clamps
that
prevent
the
work piece from turning on both sides
of
the
blade.
• Never use your hands
to
remove sawdust, chips or waste close
to
the
saw blade.
• Use only blades as recommended. Never use
High
Speed Steel blades
•
Rags,
cloths, cord, string and
the
like
should never be left around
the
work area.
·Avoid cutting nails. Inspect
the
work piece and remove all nails and
other
foreign objects before
beginning sawing.
•Always feed
the
work against
the
direction of rotation of
the
blade
• Support
the
work properly.
• Never reach over
th~
blade
to
remove waste or off cuts.
•
Do
not
attempt
to
free a
jammed
blade before first switching off
the
machine.
•
Do
not slow or stop a blade with a piece of wood.
Let
the
blade come
to
rest naturally.
•
If
you are interrupted when operating
the
saw, complete
the
process and switch off before
looking
up.
• Periodically check
that
all nuts, bolts and
other
fixings are properly tightened.
•
Do
not store materials or equipment above a machine
in
such a way
that
they
could
fall
into it.
·Always hold
the
saw on parts
that
are insulated.
If
you accidentally cut into hidden wiring
or
th.e
saw's own cable,
the
metal parts of
the
saw will become 'live'.

UNPACKING
Due
to
modern mass production techniques,
it
is
unlikely
that
your power tool
is
faulty or
that
a
part
is
missing.
If
you find anything wrong, do
not
operate
the
tool until
the
parts have been
replaced or
the
fault has been rectified. Failure
to
do so could result
in
serious personal injury.
KNOW
YOUR PRODUCT
Before using
the
saw, familiarise yourself with all
the
operating features and safety requirements.
This
saw
is
to
be used for sawing wood only.
Use
the
tool and accessories only for
the
applications
intended.

other applications are expressly ruled out.

CHARGING THE
BATTERY
The battery pack for this tool has been shipped
in
a
low charge condition.
You
should charge
the
battery
pack fully before use.
WARNING.
Do
not
use an extension cord.
WARNING.
Do
not
throw used batteries into
a fire
or
water: it could cause an explosion! Please
hand
in
non-working or used batteries, or tools with
built-in batteries,
to
the
environmentally safe disposal
unit
at
a municipal waste-disposal centre,
or
to
your dealer.
1.
Connect
the
charger (12) plug
to
a suitable
pin
socket.
2.
Insert
the
battery into
the
charger (12).
3. The battery charge time
is
approx. 1 hour, after
which
the
battery pack
(2)
should be removed. A
good indication for a fully charged battery
is
the
temperature of
the
pack, which becomes fairly-
warm as
the
battery becomes fully charged.
4.
Do
not charge batteries for "top up". Batteries
should be placed on charge only when
they
are
discharged.
5.
Unplug
the
charger when
not
in
use and store it
in
the
case.
6.
Avoid
charging your battery
in
freezing conditions, as
the
charging power will be insufficient.
7. Always remove
the
battery pack and store it
in
the
case when
the
drill
is
not
in
use.
WARNING. Never leave a battery on charge once
it
starts
to
warm
up.
WARNING.
Do
not
charge
the
battery for more
than
1 hour, as this will damage
the
battery cells.
ADJUSTING THE
CUTTING
DEPTH
CAUTION. Always ensure
that
the
saw
is
switched off and
the
battery
is
removed before making
any adjustments.
1.
Ensure
that
the
saw
is
facing away from you.
2.
Loosen
the
depth adjustment locking knob
(4).
3.
Hold
the
baseplate flat against
the
edge of
the
work piece and lift
the
body of
the
saw until
the
blade
is
at
the
right depth.
4.
Tighten
the
depth adjustment locking knob.

ADJUSTING
THE
BEVEL
ANGLE
CAUTION.
Always ensure
that
the
saw
is
switched off and
the battery
is
removed before making any adjustments.
1.
Loosen
the
bevel angle locking knob
(9)
located
at
the
front of
the
baseplate.
2.
Tilt
the
body of
the
saw until
the
required angle
is
reached.
Use
the
quadrant scale as a guide.
For
accurate
work it
is
necessary
to
make a trial cut, measure
the
work
and reset
the
angle until the correct setting
is
achieved.
3.
Tighten
the
locking knob
to
secure the baseplate.
SWITCHING
ON
AND
OFF
1.
Connect
the
battery
to
the
tool.
2.
Depress
the
lock-off button
(5)
and squeeze the trigger
switch (14).
3.
When you release
the
trigger
the
lock-off button auto-
matically releases helping
to
prevent accidental operation.
CAUTION.
Allow
the
blade
to
come
to
a complete standstill
before setting the saw down.
MAKING A CUT
1.
Adjust
the
depth of cut and
the
bevel angle as required.
2.
Start
the
motor.
3.
When
the
saw
is
at
r:naximum speed (approximately 2
seconds), slowly push
the
saw forward using both hands.
Do
not
force
the
saw.
NOTE.
Use only enough pressure
to
keep the saw cutting.
Do
not force
the
cutting, allow
the
blade and
the
saw
to
do
the
work.
USING
THE
PARALLEL
GUIDE
The
parallel guide allows you
to
make parallel cuts
in
a
sheet
of wood,
all
at
the
same width.
WARNING.
Always ensure
that
the
saw
is
switched off and
the
battery
is
removed before making
any adjustments.
1.
Slide
the
parallel guide (13) into
the
slots
(8)
in
the base plate.
2. Adjust
the
guide
to
the
required width and secure it
in
position with
the
locking knobs.
3.
Ensure
that
the guide rests against
the
wood along its entire length
to
give
a consistent parallel cut.

CHANGING
A
BLADE
WARNING. Always ensure
that
the
saw
is
switched off and
the
battery
is
removed before making a
ny
adjustments.
Always wear sturdy gloves when handling or changing blades
as
the
teeth
are very sharp.
1.
Rotate
the
saw blade
by
hand whilst depressing
the
spindle
lock
(10}
until
the
blade locks.
2.
Loosen
the
blade bolt anti-clockwise using
the
supplied
socket wrench.
3.
Remove
the
outer
blade flange and blade bolt.
4.
Remove
the
saw blade from
the
inner flange and pu
ll
it out.
5.
Clean
the
saw blade flanges thoroughly before mounting
the
new saw blade.
6.
Mount
the
new saw blade
in
reverse order and faste
n.
WARNING. The direction
of
rotation of
the
saw blade, has
to
conform
to
the
direction of
the
arrow marked on
the
housing.
7.
Make sure
the
spindle lock
is
release
d.
8.
Before using
the
saw again, check
that
the
safety devices
are
in
good working order.
IMPORTANT. After replacing
the
saw blade, make sure
the
saw blade runs freely
by
turning
the
saw
head
by
hand.
9.
Replace
the
battery and run
the
saw under no load
to
check
that
it runs smoothly before using
it
to
cut
any materials.
GENERAL INSPECTION
1.
Regularly check
that
all
the
fixing screws are tight. They may vibrate loose over time.
MAINTENANCE
1.
Store
the
tool, instruction manual and accessories
in
the
original case.
In
this way you will always
have all
the
information and parts ready
to
hand.
2.
Keep
the
tool's air vents unclogged and clean
at
all times.
3.
Remove dust and dirt regularly. Cleaning
is
best done with compressed air
or
a rag.
4.
Never use caustic agents
to
clean plastic parts.
CAUTION.
Do
not use cleaning agents
to
clean
the
plastic parts of
the
tool. A mild detergent on a
damp cloth
is
recommended. Water must never come into contact with
the
tool.

If

to
replace
the
fitted plug
of
the
tool,
then
follow
the
instructions below.
IMPORTANT.
The wires
in
this machine are
coloured
in
accordance with
the
following code:
Blue
-Neutral Brown -

As
the
colours of
the
wire
in
the
mains lead of
this apparatus may
not
correspond with
the
coloured markings identifying
the
terminals
in
your plug, proceed as follows. The wire, which
is
coloured blue,
must
be connected
to
the
terminal, which
is
marked with N or coloured
black. The wire, which
is
coloured brown,
must
be
connected
to
the
terminal, which
is
marked Lor
coloured red.
Connect
Blue
to
N
(neutral)
Outer
