Before connection
Before we proceed to connecting the machine and setting it up we need to make
sure that:
Make sure the power button is off!
You can find the power button on the front side of the machine as you can
see on the previous page. Make sure the button is off which means the button
should be protruding out and not be flat with the housing around it. See
picture below.
Don’t pour in the resin into the tank yet!
At this point don’t pour the resin into the resin tank yet. This step come after
we configure the machine and software and we are ready to make our first
3D print on the machine.

Display settings
Change the computer power options and turn all power saving options off. Keep the
computer plugged in to power when printing.
Next go to display settings and find the screen and find the display with the name
‘’VR’’. Click on the display and check the orientation of the screen (if the display is
horizontal (landscape) then you can skip this step). If the display is in vertical
(portrait) orientation, choose the landscape orientation from the drop-down menu.

Please note that in some cases you need to use landscape (flipped) to have the right
orientation. Just check your LCD screen’s image and you will see which one it the
right for you. But in most cases the landscape is correct.
In the next step go to advanced settings and make sure that the VR output resolution
is 2560x1440 pixel. If its not, select this resolution. Also make sure that the VR
screen is in extended, but not primary display.

Machine configuration
Next we go to machine configuration, so we click the configure tab
And then configure machine within the directory
First input the dimensions in the build size section. Then click the refresh button in
the available displays section. Click on the display with the 2560x1440 resolution
and click the + button to add it to the list of configured displays. Next you need to
set the machine connection. So we click configure and we choose the right port and
speed of the machine.

Slicing profile configuration
Next we configure the slicing profile
In the slicing profile tab we set the printing settings. Please note that the settings
can be different and vary by the type of resin that you use. You can configure the
slicing profile for each resin type and color for optimized printing quality and speeds.
We suggest you start with the settings you can see above. Then you can try lowering
the exposure time to optimize 3D printing speeds.
Support generation
Now returning to the main window in the Creation Workshop we click the ‘+’ button
on the top left of the model window. That opens up the support generation menu on
the left. As you can see on the next page there are a few settings available for the
support generation.
You have total control over the support generation as you can choose between
manual and automatic support. There is also an option of adding the base support
plate which insures good adhesion of the part to the build platform.

6. FIRST PRINT
Now we come to the best part: our first print with the Infinito™LCD 3D printer.
Very exciting!
In the .zip file you received in your email you can find the Creation Workshop software
along with some 3D models for printing. For this first print tutorial we will be using
the Ring-1.stl file found in 3D models folder.
Now that it’s time to make our first print we can pour the resin in. We pour the
resin in to about 1/3 of the height of the resin tank. Then we cover the printer with
the acrylic cover.
If the Creation Workshop software is not open, you open it and click the open file
button on top. We select the Ring-1.stl file to import it.
When the 3D model is imported we use rotate function to rotate the ring by 90
degrees. Click + button in Z axis:

15

Because the ring needs some support we need to lift the model. In our case 3mm
will be enough. We type in 3 and click the + button:
Next we move to generating supports:
1. Click + to open the support menu (1)
2. Click base plate support (2)
3. Then click automatic support generation (3)
We are now ready to slice the model with supports. Click the slice button (cake slice
looking icon), then when the window pops up click slice. When done you can see the
estimated build time on the top right of the Creation Workshop software.

At this point it’s time to turn on the machine and click the connect button.
We open up the control tab and home the machine with the home axis button
Now we are ready to start the print. Click the start print button and wait
for the printer to finish the print.
When the printing is done it is time to remove the model from the build table. Undo
the platform fixing knob on top and use an art knife or something similar to slowly
remove the model from the platform. At this point the print process is complete.
You have successfully printed your first part. But there are two optional steps you
can take after printing to make your parts stronger (harder) and better:
1. Wash your part thoroughly with 95% ethanol to remove all excess resin
residue from your printed part and let it air dry for a few hours
2. When your part is completely dry you can use an UV light box to completely
harden the part and improve its mechanical and visual properties (we also
supply the UV light box so should you want to buy it please send us an email
to shop@peroworx.com)

7. MAINTENANCE
Leadscrew lubrication
As with all machines that involve moving parts there is always a risk of wear of the
parts. Luckily the Infinito™3D printer only has one moving part, which is the printing
platform. It’s recommended to lubricate the leadscrew once monthly especially with
a lot of use. You can use any lubricant for steel screws (silicone based, WD-40,
etc.).
Changing the FEP film
Every 3D printer you buy comes with a spare FEP film. When the old FEP film is all
used up you have to change it to get the optimal 3D printing conditions. The process
is fairly simple. First remove the resin that is in the tank, then unscrew two nuts
holding the tank into place and then take a Philips screwdriver to undo the screws
on the bottom of the resin tank.

18
Copyright© 2017 by PeroWorx LLC
Then remove the used FEP film from the steel hold and throw it away. Take the new
FEP film and place it on top of the steel. Make sure all the screws are placed into
the steel frame hold as it will be easier to align the FEP film. First screw in the
corner screws half in. Then do the same with the rest and then slowly screw in all
the screws all the way in till you get the FEP film flat and tight on the bottom of the
resin tank.
Resin storage and handling
All the instructions on resin use and handling are usually also on the bottle of the
resin you buy but we can still go over the handling quickly. Most importantly keep
the resin away from children!
Before any use of the resin please make sure you are wearing protective gear to
avoid any skin or eye irritation. Protective gear includes rubber (or silicone gloves)
and protective glasses.
Before use shake on stir the resin thoroughly and then pour it into the resin tank. If
you don’t use the 3D printer for more than two days pour the resin back into the
bottle!
Keep the resin bottle or container in a dark and dry place (away from the sunlight)!

8. TROUBLESHOOTING
The platform is not moving!
First make sure you clicked the connect icon at the top of the main window.
If the platform still isn’t moving it’s highly likely that the speed and port settings
aren’t correctly configured. Right click on the windows icon and click on the device
manager (left menu image):
And the device manager window will open:
In the device manager look through the list and find the ports (COM & LPT) menu
and find the printer and its COM port. And right click the device (on the example
COM5) and then properties. A window will open up:

20
Copyright© 2017 by PeroWorx LLC
Now choose the speed of 115200 as this is the same as we have set up in the
Creation workshop software as well as the same port:
Now you’re all set. Restart the computer and start the creation workshop software
and click the connect button.
The model is not sticking to the build plate!
Sometimes during a print the either the part does not stick to the build plate and
there is no 3D printed part or the part comes off in the middle of the print and we
have to start all over again. This can happen in two cases:
1. It is possible that during transport (or moving the printer around too much)
the homing screw came a bit loose and the print platform is too far from the
bottom of the tank. This is easily solvable problem. You just have to tighten
the bolt a bit to bring the platform closer to the bottom of the tank.
