How to Use This M nu l
The Manual has t o main sections – Standard and Advanced. The Standard
section covers the more common types of specialty control installations, i.e. the
Omni is the only Input Device in the system; hereas, the Advanced section
covers ho to use the Omni in conjunction ith another Input Device or ith
t o Specialty Input Devices.
To get the most out of this manual it is recommended that you concentrate on
the Standard section and only refer to the Advanced section if you are orking
ith t o IDs, t o SIDs or ish to set up the Omni so the functions can be
navigated audibly.

Definition of Terms Used nd Abbrevi tions
PM: Power Module
JSM: Joystick Module
ISM: Intelligent/seating Lighting Module. The R-net equivalent to
the Pilot+ ALM.
ID: Any system Input Device, e.g. a JSM or the Omni.
SID: Specialty Input Device. Any specialty type of Input Device
for connection to the Omni, e.g. head array, TASH switch
panel or mini-Joysticks.
User Switch: The switch for the User that initiates Profile/Mode
changes and emergency stopping. This was
previously referred to as the Mode/Stop Switch.
IOM: Input/Output Module. A universal Module that can
be used as a simple TRACE Input Module, or as an
Output Module equivalent to the Pilot+ ACM.
OBP: On-Board Programming. A method of programming
the R-net system via the buttons on the Omni’s front
panel.
TRACE: The industry standard pin-out for 9-way D-type input
and output connectors.

If you re using the Omni with no other R-net Input
Modules nd just one Speci lty Input Device (SID),
you need only re d this section.
1 Introduction
The Omni is a universal specialty controls interface that accepts signals from
many different types of SIDs and translates them into commands compatible
ith the PG Drives Technology R-net control system.
The follo ing diagrams sho the Omni controls and connections. Full electrical
specifications are given in the Specifications Chapter.
This document must be read and understood by the healthcare professional
ho is installing and configuring the Omni. If you are in any doubt contact PG
Drives Technology. The R-net Operating and Installation guide and the relevant
Input Device installation instructions should also be read.
