Mains plug
This apparatus is fitted with an approved
moulded 13 Amp plug.To change a fuse in this
type of plug proceed as follows:
1Remove fuse cover and fuse.
2Fix new fuse which should e a BS1362 5 Amp,
A.S.T.A. or BSI approved type.
3Refit the fuse cover.
If the fitted plug is not suita le for your socket
outlets, it should e cut off and an appropriate
plug fitted in its place. If the mains plug contains
a fuse, this should have a value of 5 Amp. If a
plug without a fuse is used, the fuse at the
distri ution oard should not e greater than
5 Amp.
Note:The severed plug must be disposed to avoid
a possible shock hazard should it be inserted into
a 13 Amp socket elsewhere.
How to connect a plug
The wires in the mains lead are coloured with
the following code: lue = neutral (N),
rown = live (L).
• As these colours may not correspond with the
colour markings identifying the terminals in your
plug, proceed as follows:
• Connect the lue wire to the terminal
marked N or coloured lack.
• Connect the rown wire to the terminal
marked L or coloured red.
• Do not connect either wire to the earth
terminal in the plug, marked E (or e) or
coloured green (or green and yellow).
Before replacing the plug cover, make certain
that the cord grip is clamped over the sheath of
the lead - not simply over the two wires.

car on zinc. Only use atteries of the same
type for the set.
• When inserting new atteries, do not try to

General information
The music compression technology MP3
(MPEG Audio Layer 3) reduces the original

This allows you to record up to 10 hours of
CD-like quality music on a single CD-ROM.
How to get MP3 music
Either download legal MP3 music from the
internet or convert your audio CD into MP3
format with any MP3 encoder software, and
then record onto a CD-R(W).
• To achieve a good sound quality a it rate
of 128 k ps is recommended for MP3 files.
Some encoder software offers an option to
protect music files, i.e. the files can only e
played on the computer which created
them. If you urn such files on a CD-ROM,
you cannot play them on this set. Make sure
to deactivate the protection option in the
encoder software efore creating the music
files. In this case you are responsi le for the

files, make sure the file names are typed in
English text characters and that the
MP3 files end with .mp3
• Use a writing software capa le of recording

of the software.
• When recording on a CD-RW, make sure
that you close (finalize) all sessions in order
for the set to read and play your tracks.
How to organize MP3 files
You can store up to a maximum num er of
35 al ums and 350 titles on one MP3-CD.
Al ums and titles are alpha etically sorted.
• There may e an al um 00 which will e
played efore all other al ums. Al um 00
contains all the tracks which you did not
put into an al um.
• MP3-CD/ CD al ums and titles are shown
as num ers in the display.
IMPORTANT
This set does not play/support the
following:
• UDF disc format
• Mixed format CD recordings e.g. CD audio
and MP3 tracks com ined within a disc, as
you will only e a le to play ack the CD
audio tracks.
• Empty al ums: an empty al um is an al um
that does not contain MP3 files, and will not
