Phonic Ear – Solaris Flex
The System
receiver
The on/off switch is on the left hand
side of the receiver.
On the top:
•Socket to plug in listening
headphones and leads to cochlear
implants. (headphones)
•Charging socket (flash of electricity)
•Light or status indicator
•A switch where you can toggle
between volume (balancing) and
channel.
On the front:
•Having selected the channel or
volume on the top, use increase
decrease buttons on the front to
change whichever you have
selected (Volume = 1-32)
•The channel number or volume is
then displayed in the window. If it
is the channel number it flashes all
the time, the volume is lit
continuously.
transmitter
The on/off switch is on the left hand
side of the receiver.
On the top:
•Socket to plug in microphone
(microphone pic). An external
microphone is essential as it holds
the aerial.
•Auxiliary socket to plug in eg DVD
player, laptop or television.
•Charging socket (flash of electricity)
•Light or status indicator
•Mute switch. Depress to activate.
When activated, the green status
indicator will flash.
On the front:
The channel selection button. Press
and hold the decrease button until the
number in the window flashes. When
you press the buttons again you will be
able to move up and down to select
the channel. Once chosen, leave the
number until it flashes. That channel
is now locked in.
The receiver and the transmitter need to be on the same number.
The receiver
You can lock the volume and channel control.
To do this open the battery compartment and remove the batteries.
In the bottom left hand corner of the long side there are two
switches.
The switch on the left is to lock the volume.
The switch on the right is to lock the channel.
If the appropriate switch is pushed down it will lock the current
channel or volume number.
The Transmitter
This must be used with an external microphone, either a lapel mic, a
boom mic, a conference mic. The aerial for the transmitter forms
part of the microphone.
Meanings of LED displays
LED Meaning
Constant red charging
Constant green On and transmitting or receiving
Blinking red Low battery
Receiver blinking green No FM
Transmitter blinking green Muted
Off Off or error
If the number in the display window on the receiver is flashing, it is
displaying the channel number.
If the number in the display window of the receiver is constant, it is
displaying the volume setting.
