Switching Diagram for the 40-616A 16-Bank, 5-Channel, 1-Pole Multiplexer
The 40-616A module consists of 16 separate multiplexer banks
controlled by a PXI interface. Each bank is a 1 to 5 multiplexer
and inter-bank linking relays allow the size of a multiplexer to be
increased in multiples of 5 by joining the common terminals of
adjacent banks. Closing one linking switch produces a 10 channel
multiplexer, closing all linking switches produces an 80 channel
multiplexer.
The 40-616A can be operated as a conventional multiplexer
with break-before-make action when a new channel is selected.
Alternatively, product variants can be supplied that allow multiple
channels to be simultaneously selected.
The 40-616A channel selection congurations have been revised
from the 40-616. The 40-616A defaults to single channel selection
with multiple channel selection variants dened by use of a sufx.
The multiplexers include isolation switching that connects only
the currently active multiplexer bank to its common terminal.
This minimizes capacitive loading and leakage current in large
multiplexer systems.
The module can be cascaded for applications that require large
multiplexer systems, it is also suitable for test systems that require
a large number of signals to be switched in parallel.
