Beschreibung
Der Adapter PSS ConvUSB/RS 485
dient zur Anbindung eines PC mit
USB-Schnittstelle an die PG-
Schnittstelle einer PSS.
Um die Verbindung herzustellen, ist
zusätzlich zu dem Adapter das
VerbindungskabelH-P10C485
CablePC-CPUnotwendig.
Installation
Für den Datenaustausch über den
Adapter PSS Conv USB/RS 485
werden Treiber auf Ihrem PC benö-
tigt. Die Installation dieser Treiber
erfolgt mit Hilfe der beigefügten CD.
Vorbereitung
• Prüfen Sie, welche COM-Schnitt-
stellen Sie verwenden können.
• Prüfen Sie im Gerätemanager ,
ob eine der erlaubten Schnittstel-
len frei ist ( Systemsteuerung ->
System -> Hardware -> Geräte-
manager ). Sollten andere Anwen-
dungen diese Schnittstellen
bereits belegen, so deinstallieren
Sieeine dieser Anwendungen oder
wählen Sie eine andere Schnitt-
stelle.
• Verbinden Sie den Adapter mit
einer USB-Schnittstelle des PCs
und legen Sie die Installations-CD
ein.
Description
The PSS adapter ConvUSB/RS 485
is used to connect a PC with USB
port to the PG interface of a PSS.
In addition to the adapter, an extra
cable H-P10 C485 Cable PC-CPU is
needed in order to make the
connection.
Installation
Your PC needs drivers in order to
exchange data via the PSS Conv
USB/RS 485 adapter. These
drivers are installed using the
enclosedCD.
Preparation
• Check which COM ports you can
use.
• In Device Manager , check to see
if one of the permitted ports is free
( Control Panel -> System ->
Hardware -> Device Manager ).
If other applications are already
using these ports, uninstall one of
these applications or choose a
different port.
• Connect the adapter to a USB port
on the PC and insert the
installation CD.

L’adaptateur PSS ConvUSB/RS 485
sert à connecter un PC avec inter-
face USB à l’interface PG d’un
PSS.
Outre l’adaptateur, le câble H-P10
C485 Cable PC-CPU est nécessaire
pour établir la connexion.
Installation
Pour l’échange de données via
l’adaptateur PSS Conv USB/
RS 485, des pilotes doivent être
installés sur votre PC. L’installation
de ces pilotes est réalisée à l'aide
du CD ci-joint.
Préparation
• Vérifiez quelles interfaces COM
peuvent être utilisées.
• Vérifiez, dans le Gestionnaire de
périphériques , que l’une des
interfaces autorisées est libre
( Panneau de configuration ->
Système -> Matériel -> Gestion-
naire de périphériques ). Si
d’autres applications utilisent ces
interfaces, vous devez
désinstaller l’une de ces
applications ou sélectionner une
autreinterface.
• Reliez l’adaptateur à une interface
USB du PC, puis insérez le CD
d’installation.

Installation des Treibers
Windows meldet, dass eine neue
Hardwaregefundenwurdeundöffnet
einen Assistenten zum Installieren
dieser Hardware. Befolgen Sie die
Anweisungen des Assistenten.
• Sollte sich der Hardware-Assistent
nicht von selbst öffnen, so rufen
Sie ihn auf, indem Sie in der
Systemsteuerung auf das Sym-
bol Hardware doppelklicken.
• Wählen Sie die Option
Gerät
hinzufügen , klicken Sie auf
Weiter und folgen Sie den Anwei-
sungen. Wählen Sie dann im
Fenster Gerät wählen das USB
Device und klicken Sie auf Fertig
stellen .
• Es öffnet sich ein weiterer
Windows-Assistent zum Installie-
ren und Aktualisieren von Geräte-
treibern. Sollte sich dieser Assi-
stent nicht von selbst öffnen, dann
rufen Sie ihn auf, indem Sie im
Geräte-Manager aufdasneue
USB-Gerätdoppelklicken.Wählen
Sie dann die Karteikarte Treiber
und klicken Sie auf die Schalt-
fläche Treiber aktualisieren...
• Wählen Sie die Option Nach
einem passenden Treiber su-
chen und klicken Sie auf Weiter .
Wählen Sie als Quelle das Lauf-
werk aus, in dem sich die Treiber-
CD befindet. Bestätigen Sie mit
Weiter und klicken Sie dann auf
Fertigstellen .
Der Adapter ist nun unter dem
Gerätenamen Pilz USB Serial COM
Port als neue serielle Schnittstelle
installiert.
Konfiguration und
Abschluss
• Rufen Sie in der System-
steuerung den Geräte-Manager
auf und klicken Sie im Listenfeld
auf Anschlüsse (COM und LPT) .
Sehen Sie nach, welche Schnitt-
stelle der Adapter belegt. Wenn
notwendig, ändern Sie die COM-
Port-NummerimGeräte-Manager.
• Geben Sie die ermittelte Schnitt-
stelle im PSS WIN-PRO an.
Installing the driver
Windows registers that new
hardware has been found and it
opens a wizard designed to install
this hardware. Follow the
instructions of the wizard.
• If the hardware wizard does not
open on its own, you can call it up
by double-clicking on the Hard-
ware symbol in the Control
Panel .
• Select
Add Device , click Next
and follow the instructions. Select
the USB Device in the Select
Device window and then click
Finish .
• Another Windows wizard will
open, designed to install and
update device drivers. If this
wizard does not open on its own,
you can call it up by double-
clicking on the new USB device in
Device Manager . Select the
Driver tab and click on the
Update Driver... button.
• Select Search for a suitable
driver and click Next . Select the
source as the drive containing the
driver CD. Confirm by pressing
Next and then click Finish .
The adapter is now installed as a
new serial port under the device
name ProlificUSB-to-Serial
Comm Port .
Configuration and
completion
• In Control Panel , call up the
Device Manager and click Ports
(COM and LPT) in the list field.
Look to see which port the
adapter is using. Change the
COM port number in the Device
Manager, if necessary.
• Select the determined interface in
PSS WIN-PRO.
Installation du pilote
Windows affiche qu’un nouveau
matériel à été trouvé et ouvre un
assistant pour installer ce matériel.
Suivez les consignes de l'assistant.
• Si l'assistant matériel devait ne pas
s’ouvrir tout seul, appelez-le en
double-cliquant sur l’icône Matériel
dans le Panneau de
configuration .
• Sélectionnez l’option Ajout maté-
riel
, cliquez sur Suivant puis
suivez les instructions. Dans la
fenêtre Sélectionner le matériel ,
choisissez le matériel USB puis
cliquez sur Terminer .
• Un autre assistant Windows va
s’ouvrir et permettre l’installation et
l’actualisation des pilotes des
appareils. Si cet assistant matériel
devait ne pas s’ouvrir tout seul,
appelez-leendouble-cliquant,dans
le Gestionnaire de périphériques,
sur le nouveau matériel USB.
Sélectionnez ensuite l’onglet
Pilotes , puis cliquez sur le bouton
Actualiser les pilotes...
• Sélectionnez l’option Chercher un
pilote approprié , puis cliquez sur
Suivant . Définissez le lecteur de
CD dans lequel se trouve le CD
contenant les pilotes en tant que
source. Confirmez en cliquant sur
Suivant puis cliquez sur Terminer .
L’adaptateur est maintenant installé,
comme nouvelle interface série, sous
le nom de Prolific USB-to-Serial
Comm Port .
Configuration et conclusion
• Dans le Panneau de configura-
tion, appelez le Gestionnaire de
périphériques puis cliquez, dans
la liste, sur les connexions (COM
et LPT) et vérifiez l’interface
utilisée par l’adaptateur.Si néces-
saire, modifiez le numéro de COM-
Port dans le gestionnaire de
périphériques.
• Indiquezl'interfacedéterminée
dansWIN-PRO.

Betrieb
Beachten Sie:
Während der PC läuft, nicht den
Adapter ziehen und wieder stecken.
Sonst kann sich die Schnittstellen-
belegung des PC ändern und die
Verbindung zur PSS kannn nicht
wiederhergestelltwerden.
Deinstallation
Die Treiber-CD enthält die Datei
"Ftdiunin.exe". Starten Sie die Datei
Ftdiunin.exe und bestätigen Sie das
Entfernen des Treibers mit OK

Operation
Please note:
Do not remove the adapter and
reinsert it while the PC is running.
Should you do this, the interface
assignment on the PC may change
and it will no longer be possible to
establish the connection to the PSS.
Uninstall
The driver CD includes the file
"Ftdiunin.exe". Start the file
Ftdiunin.exe and confirm the
removing of the driver by clicking
OK.

Fonctionnement
Veuillez noter :
Lorsque le PC fonctionne, ne dé-
branchez ni ne rebranchez l’adapta-
teur. Cette opération pourrait modi-
fier l’affectation des interfaces du
PC et empêcher la connexion au
PSS.
Désinstallation
Le CD contenant les pilotes contient
le fichier "Ftdiunin.exe". Lancez le
fichier Ftdiunin.exe et confirmez la
suppression du pilote avec OK
