SOLAR CAP LIGHT 511-0007/511-0008C
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
TROUBLE SHOOTING:
1. Check the surrounding area for high ambient lights, such as porch
lights, street lights, etc.
2. Make sure the solar panel is not located in a shady area where
sunlight is not reaching the unit.
3. Make sure the batteries are making contact with the terminals (see
“Battery eplacement” to learn how to access the battery area).
1. It is recommended to clean the solar panels with a damp cloth on
a regular basis.
DO NOT USE CHEMICALS OR ABRASIVES OF ANY KIND TO CLEAN.
2. Solar lights are weatherproof, but during the winter or cold
temperatures (below 0ºC/32ºF), it is best to remove them and
store them until extreme weather has dissipated.
1. Your post cap fits 5” vinyl post, and includes adapters to fit the
following posts: 4” vinyl post, 4” wood post (marked 3.5”). 6” wood
post adapters in black or white finish are available by contacting us
at customercare@pinetopsales.net
2. Assemble as shown in fig. 1 or mount post cap directly onto post
without adapter (if post is 5” in diameter). All adapters have screw
holes and screws will attach the post cap to the post as shown in fig.
1.
3. Set the “AUTO/OFF” switch to “AUTO” position as shown in fig. 2
allowing the batteries to make contact.
4. Allow your lights to charge for 24 hours. Once the batteries are fully
charged the light will automatically turn on at night and off at dawn.
Find a location for your light where there is no surrounding shade or light
sources that will affect the operation of your solar light.

If the light does not turn on in the evening do the following:
BATTERY REPLACEMENT:
1. Unscrew the upper part of the
solar cap to expose the battery
compartment (fig. 3).
2. eplace the spent batteries with
new batteries, making sure the
polarity is correct.
3. eplace the upper part and
tighten the screws.
MAINTENANCE:
Note: This product uses 2 x AA NiMH batteries. The rechargeable
batteries must be allowed to fully charge to operate properly.
Partially charging the batteries on a consistent basis will drastically
reduce the life of the batteries.
Caution: Insert batteries with the correct polarity. Do not mix old
and new batteries. Do not mix different types of batteries: Alkaline,
standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (NiMH). Never short-circuit
the battery terminals. Do not dispose of batteries in the fire,
batteries may explode or leak. emove batteries during long periods
of non-use or when product is stored. Dispose of batteries according
to your state laws.
