CAUTION
The STANDBY/ON switch on this unit will not
completely shut off all power from the AC outlet.
Since the power cord serves as the main disconnect
device for the unit, you will need to unplug it from the
AC outlet to shut down all power. Therefore, make
sure the unit has been installed so that the power
cord can be easily unplugged from the AC outlet in
case of an accident. To avoid fire hazard, the power
cord should also be unplugged from the AC outlet
when left unused for a long period of time (for
example, when on vacation).

Thank you for buying this Pioneer DJ product.
!This manual briefly explains procedures of connecting this unit to
your PC/Mac through outputting sound. For more details on how to
use this unit, refer to “Operating Instructions” on Pioneer DJ site.
!Please note that the screens and specifications of the software
described in this guide as well as the external appearance and
specifications of the hardware are currently under development and
may differ from the final specifications.
!Please note that depending on the operating system version, web
browser settings, etc., operation may differ from the procedures

Before start
Features
This unit is an all-in-one DJ controller designed specifically for Serato
Limited’s DJ software “Serato DJ Pro.”
Performance interfaces, such as “PERFORMANCE PADS,” “4-CHANNEL
MIXER,” etc., are arranged comfortably to control functions included in
“Serato DJ Pro.”
In addition, this unit is equipped with abundant input/output terminals
to correspond to various DJ performances. This unit is also designed
with a sense of quality to correspond to various scenes such as clubs
and home parties.

1 Only one USB cable is supplied on this unit. If you use two cables,
use a USB cable supported to USB2.0.
2 Note that the Serato DJ Pro EXPANSION PACK VOUCHER cannot
be reissued. You will need to use the voucher code to activate the
expansion pack. Make sure to store it in a safe place so that you do
not lose it.

Installing the software
Before installing the software
The Serato DJ Pro software and driver software are not included.
Access and download the software from the Pioneer DJ support site.

!The user is responsible for preparing the PC/Mac, network devices
and other elements of the Internet usage environment required for
a connection to the Internet.
Downloading the driver software
1 Launch a web browser on the PC/Mac and access the
Pioneer DJ site.

!To select your language, click the flag icon on the upper-right
screen.
2 Point the cursor to [Support].
3 Click [Software & firmware updates].
4 Click [DDJ-SX3] under [DJ CONTROLLER].
5 Click [Drivers].
6 Click [Download link], and then save the file.
About the Serato DJ Pro software
Serato DJ Pro is a DJ software application by Serato Limited. DJ
performances are possible by connecting the PC/Mac on which this
software is installed to this unit.

!Depending on the power saving settings, etc. of the PC/Mac, the CPU and hard
disk may not provide sufficient processing capabilities. For laptop PCs and
Mac books in particular, make sure the computer is in the proper conditions
to provide constant high performance (for example by keeping the AC power
connected) when using Serato DJ Pro.
!Use of the Internet requires a separate contract with a provider offering Internet
services and payment of provider fees.
Obtaining the Serato DJ Pro software
1 Access the Serato web site.

2 Click [Serato DJ] under [DJ PRODUCTS].
The Serato DJ Pro download page is displayed.
!The download page is subject to change.
3 Click [DOWNLOAD SERATO DJ].
4 Create an account of “Serato.com”.
!If you have already registered a user account on “Serato.com”,
proceed to step 6.
!If you have not completed registering your user account, do so
following the procedure below.
—Following the instructions on the screen, input your email
address and the password to set, and then select the region
in which you live.
—If you check [E-mail me Serato newsletters], newsletters
providing the latest information on Serato Limited products
will be sent from Serato Limited.
—Once user account registration is completed, you will receive
an e-mail at the e-mail address you have input. Check the
contents of the email sent from “Serato.com.”
!Be careful not to forget the email address and password
specified when you performed user registration. They will be
required for updating the software.
!The personal information input when registering a new user
account may be collected, processed and used based on the
privacy policy on the Serato Limited website.
5 Click the link in the e-mail message sent from “Serato.
com.”
This takes you to the Serato DJ Pro download page.
6 Log in.
Input the email address and password you have registered to log in to
“Serato.com.”
7 Download the Serato DJ Pro software from the
download page.
Installation procedure (Windows)
Do not connect this unit and the PC until installation is completed.
!Log on as the user which was set as the administrator of the PC
before installing.
!If any other programs are running on the PC, quit them.
1 Unzip the downloaded driver software
(Pioneer_DDJSX3_X.XXX.).
2 Double-click [DDJ-SX3_X.XXX.exe].
3 Proceed with installation according to the instructions
on the screen.
If [Windows Security] appears on the screen while the installation is
in progress, click [Install this driver software anyway] and continue
with the installation.
When the installation program is completed, a completion message
appears.
After installing the driver software, install the Serato DJ Pro software.
4 Unzip the downloaded Serato DJ Pro software file.
5 Double-click the unzipped software file to launch the
installer.
6 Read the terms of the license agreement carefully,
and if you agree, select [I agree to the license terms and
conditions], then click [Install].
!If you do not agree to the contents of the license agreement, click
[Close] to cancel installation.
The message of successful installation appears when installation is
completed.
7 Click [Close] to quit the Serato DJ Pro installer.
Installation procedure (Mac)
Do not connect this unit and the Mac until installation is completed.
!If any other programs are running on the Mac, quit them.
1 Unzip the downloaded driver software
(DDJSX3_M_X.X.X.zip).
2 Double-click [DDJ-SX3_M_X.X.X.dmg].
3 Double-click [DDJ-SX3_AudioDriver.pkg].
4 Follow the displayed instructions to install.
5 Unzip the downloaded Serato DJ Pro software file.
6 Double-click the unzipped software file to launch the
installer.
7 Read the terms of the license agreement carefully,
and if you agree, click [Agree].
!If you do not agree to the contents of the usage agreement, click
[Disagree] to cancel installation.
8 Click [Install].
9 Follow the displayed instructions to install.
10 Click [Close] to quit the installer.

About installing the driver software into
macOS High Sierra 10.13
For macOS High Sierra 10.13, the new security function is added.
When installing Pioneer DJ driver software into macOS High Sierra
10.13, the driver software authentication is required. Follow the
procedures below.
Following procedures are necessary when newly installing the driver
software into macOS High Sierra 10.13.
If the driver software has been installed into macOS or OS X before
updating to macOS High Sierra 10.13, following procedures are not
necessary.
When installing Pioneer DJ driver software into macOS High Sierra
10.13, the following screen is displayed.
Click [OK].
After permitting the driver software installation, the driver software
installing will be completed.
1 Open [System Preferences], and then click [Security
& Privacy].
2 Check that [System software from developer “Pioneer
DJ Corporation” was blocked from loading.] is displayed
on the lower screen.
This is shown for 30 minutes from starting the driver software
installation.
If it is not shown, repeat the procedure of the driver software installation.
3 Click [Allow] on the lower-right screen.
4 If the DJ equipment is connected to Mac, disconnect
the USB cable, and then connect it again.
About the AC adapter
Safety instructions
!Do not use this unit with a coin, paper clip or other metal object
stuck between the AC adapter and power plug. Doing so could cause
a short circuit, leading to fire or electric shock.
!When mounting the AC adapter on a wall outlet, make sure there is
no space between the AC adapter and the wall outlet. Faulty contact
or a coin, paper clip or other metal object getting stuck in the space
could cause a short circuit, leading to fire or electric shock.

!The power plug could come detached from the AC adapter and
remain in the power outlet if someone trips on the AC adapter’s
power cord or if something hits the AC adapter. If this happens,
remove the power plug remaining in the outlet with dry hands,
holding it as shown on the diagram below and without touching
metal parts. Do not use any tools to remove it.

Mounting the power plug
Slide the power plug along the guide rails in the AC
adapter unit as shown on the diagram below, then press
in until a click is heard.
Removing the power plug
While pressing the [PUSH] button on the AC adapter
unit, slide the power plug away from the adapter as
shown on the diagram below to remove it.
Once the power plug is mounted, there is no need to remove it.

Connecting devices to this unit
1 Connect headphones to one of the [HEADPHONES]
terminals.
2 Connect powered speakers, a power amplifier,
components, etc., to the [MASTER OUT 1] or [MASTER
OUT 2] terminals.
!To output the sound from the [BOOTH OUT] terminals, connect
speakers or other devices to the [BOOTH OUT] terminals.
!For details on connecting the input/output terminals, see the
Operating Instructions.
3 Connect this unit to your PC/Mac via a USB cable.
4 Turn on the PC/Mac.
5 Connect the power plug to the AC adapter.
Slide the power plug into the AC adapter’s guide rails as shown on the
diagram and press in until a click is heard.
!For detailed cautions on the AC adapter, see “About the AC
adapter” (p. 6).
!The shape of the plug differs according to the region in which the
unit is sold.
6 Connect the AC adapter.
7 Press the [STANDBY/ON] switch on this unit’s rear
panel to turn on this unit.
!For Windows users
The message [Installing device driver software] may
appear when this unit is first connected to the PC or when it is
connected to a different USB port on the PC. Wait a while until
the message [Your devices are ready for use] appears.
8 Turn on the devices connected to the output
terminals (powered speakers, power amplifier,
components, etc.).
!When a microphone, DJ player or other external device is
connected to input terminals, the power of that device also turns
on.

Playing music by operating Serato DJ Pro
Launching Serato DJ Pro
This manual consists mainly of explanations of functions of this unit as hardware. For detailed instructions on operating the Serato DJ Pro software,
see the Serato DJ Pro software manual.
For Mac
In Finder, open the [Applications] folder, then click the [Serato DJ Pro] icon.
For Windows 10
From the [Start] menu, click [Serato] > [Serato DJ Pro] icon.
For Windows 8.1
From [Apps view], click the [Serato DJ Pro] icon.
For Windows 7
From the Windows [Start] menu, click the [Serato DJ] icon under [All Programs] > [Serato DJ Pro].
PC/Mac screen directly after the Serato DJ Pro software is launched
!The [BUY/ACTIVATE] icon may appear on the right side of the screen displayed when Serato DJ Pro is launched for the first time, but for those
using DDJ-SX3 there is no need to activate or purchase a license. You can purchase expansion packs such as DVS and use them as additional
options.
PC/Mac screen when a track is loaded in the Serato DJ Pro software
Click [Library] at the upper left of the PC/Mac screen, then select [Vertical] or [Horizontal] from the pull-down menu to switch the Serato DJ Pro
screen.
A Deck section
The track information (the name of the loaded track, artist name, BPM, etc.), the overall waveform and other information is displayed here.
B Waveform display
The loaded track’s waveform is displayed here.
C Browser section
Crates in which tracks in the library or sets of multiple tracks are stored are displayed here.

Importing tracks
The following describes the typical procedure for importing tracks.
!There are various ways to import tracks with the Serato DJ Pro
software. For details, see the Serato DJ Pro software manual.
!If you are already using Serato Limited’s DJ software (Scratch Live,
ITCH, Serato DJ Intro, or Serato DJ Lite) and have already created
track libraries, the track libraries you have previously created can be
used as such.
!If you are using Serato DJ Intro and have already created track
libraries, you may have to reanalyze the tracks.
1 Click the [Files] key on the Serato DJ Pro software
screen to open the [Files] panel.
The contents of your PC/Mac or the peripheral connected to the PC/Mac
are displayed in the [Files] panel.
2 Click the folder on the [Files] panel containing the
tracks you want to add to the library to select it.
3 On the Serato DJ Pro software screen, drag and drop
the selected folder to the crates panel.
A crate is created and the tracks are added to the library.

Loading tracks and playing them
The following describes the procedure for loading tracks into deck [1] as
an example.

2 Press this unit’s [BACK] button, move the cursor to

library on the PC/Mac screen, then turn the rotary
selector and select the track.

4 Press the [LOAD] button to load the selected track
onto the deck.
Playing tracks and outputting the sound
The following describes the procedure for outputting the channel 1
sound as an example.
!Set the volume of the devices (power amplifier, powered speakers,
etc.) connected to the [MASTER OUT 1] and [MASTER OUT 2]
terminals to an appropriate level. Note that loud sound will be output
if the volume is set too high.

2 Press the [f] button to play the track.
3 Move the channel fader away from you.
4 Turn the [TRIM] control.
Adjust [TRIM] so that the orange indicator on the channel level indicator
lights at the peak level.
5 Turn the [MASTER LEVEL] control to adjust the audio
level of the speakers.
Adjust the sound level output from the [MASTER OUT 1] and [MASTER
OUT 2] terminals to an appropriate level.
Monitoring sound with headphones
Set the positions of the controls, etc., as shown below.

1 Press the headphones [CUE] button for the channel 1.
2 Turn the [HEADPHONES LEVEL] control.
Adjust the sound level output from the headphones to an appropriate
level.

Changing the settings
For details to change settings on this unit, see the “Changing the
settings” section in the Operating Instructions.
Quitting the system
1 Quit Serato DJ Pro.
When the software is closed, a message for confirming that you want to
close it appears on the PC/Mac screen. Click [Yes] to close.
2 Press the [STANDBY/ON] switch on this unit’s rear
panel to set this unit to standby.

L’interrupteur STANDBY/ON de cet appareil ne
coupe pas complètement celui-ci de sa prise secteur.
Comme le cordon d’alimentation fait office de
dispositif de déconnexion du secteur, il devra être

l’appareil soit complètement hors tension. Par
conséquent, veillez à installer l’appareil de telle
manière que son cordon d’alimentation puisse être

Caractéristiques
Cet appareil est un contrôleur DJ tout-en-un conçu spécialement pour le
logiciel DJ de Serato Limited « Serato DJ Pro ».
Les interfaces des performances, telles que les « PERFORMANCE
PADS »,« 4-CHANNEL MIXER », etc., sont disposées de manière à
accéder facilement aux commandes incluses dans « Serato DJ Pro ».
Par ailleurs, cet appareil est équipé de nombreuses prises d’entrée/
sortie, adaptées aux différentes performances DJ. Il affiche également
un design haut de gamme, qui s’adapte aux différentes scènes telles
que les discothèques et les soirées à domicile.

!L’utilisateur est chargé de préparer le PC/Mac, les périphériques
réseau et autres éléments nécessaires pour utiliser Internet afin de
s’y connecter.
Télécharger le pilote
1 Lancez un navigateur Web sur le PC/Mac pour accéder
au site Pioneer DJ.

!Pour sélectionner votre langue, cliquez sur l’icône du drapeau en
haut à droite de l’écran.

Acquisition du logiciel Serato DJ Pro
1 Accédez au site Internet de Serato.

2 Cliquez sur [Serato DJ] sous [DJ PRODUCTS].
La page de téléchargement Serato DJ Pro s’affiche.
!La page de téléchargement est susceptible d’être modifiée.
3 Cliquez sur [DOWNLOAD SERATO DJ].
4 Créez un compte pour «Serato.com».
!Si vous possédez déjà un compte utilisateur sur « Serato.com »,
passez au point 6.
!Si vous ne disposez pas de compte utilisateur, veuillez en créer
un en suivant la procédure ci-dessous.
—En suivant les instructions affichées à l’écran, saisissez votre
adresse de messagerie et indiquez un mot de passe, puis
sélectionnez la région où vous résidez.
—Si vous cochez [E-mail me Serato newsletters], Serato
Limited vous enverra des newsletters avec les toutes
dernières informations sur les produits Serato Limited.
—Une fois votre compte utilisateur créé, vous recevrez un
e-mail à l’adresse de messagerie que vous avez saisie.
Vérifiez le contenu de l’e-mail envoyé par « Serato.com ».
!Faites attention de ne pas oublier l’adresse de messagerie
et le mot de passe que vous avez indiqués lors de votre
enregistrement en tant qu’utilisateur. Ils vous seront demandés
pour mettre à jour le logiciel.
!Les informations personnelles entrées lors de l’enregistrement
d’un nouveau compte utilisateur peuvent être collectées, traitées
et utilisées selon les règles de la politique de confidentialité
consultables sur le site de Serato Limited.
5 Cliquez sur le lien dans le message envoyé par
«Serato.com».
Vous serez alors redirigé vers la page de téléchargement Serato DJ Pro.
6 Connectez-vous.
Saisissez votre adresse de messagerie et le mot de passe que vous avez
enregistrés pour vous connecter au site « Serato.com ».
7 Téléchargez le logiciel Serato DJ Pro à partir de la
page de téléchargement.
Procédure d’installation (Windows)
Ne raccordez cet appareil et le PC que lorsque l’installation est
terminée.
!Déconnectez-vous en tant qu’utilisateur qui a été défini comme
l’administrateur de l’ordinateur avant de procéder à l’installation.
!Si un autre programme est exécuté sur l’ordinateur, veuillez le
fermer.
1 Décompressez le pilote téléchargé
(Pioneer_DDJSX3_X.XXX.).
2 Double-cliquez sur [DDJ-SX3_X.XXX.exe].
3 Procédez à l’installation en suivant les instructions
affichées à l’écran.
Si la [Sécurité de Windows] apparaît à l’écran en cours d’installation,
cliquez sur [Installer ce pilote quand même] et poursuivez
l’installation.
Une fois le programme installé, un message d’achèvement apparaît.
Une fois le pilote installé, procédez à l’installation du logiciel Serato DJ
Pro.
4 Décompressez le fichier du logiciel Serato DJ Pro
téléchargé.
5 Double-cliquez sur le fichier du logiciel décompressé
pour lancer le programme d’installation.
6 Lisez attentivement les clauses du contrat de licence,
et si vous les acceptez, sélectionnez [I agree to the
license terms and conditions], puis cliquez sur [Install].
!Si vous n’acceptez pas le contenu du contrat de licence, cliquez
sur [Close] pour annuler l’installation.
Le message indiquant que la procédure s’est bien déroulée apparaît une
fois l’installation terminée.
7 Cliquez sur [Close] pour quitter le
programme d’installation Serato DJ Pro.
Procédure d’installation (Mac)
Ne raccordez cet appareil et le Mac que lorsque l’installation est
terminée.
!Si un autre programme est exécuté sur le Mac, veuillez le fermer.
1 Décompressez le pilote téléchargé
(DDJSX3_M_X.X.X.zip).
2 Double-cliquez sur [DDJ-SX3_M_X.X.X.dmg].
3 Double-cliquez sur [DDJ-SX3_AudioDriver.pkg].
4 Suivez les instructions affichées pour procéder à
l’installation.
5 Décompressez le fichier du logiciel Serato DJ Pro
téléchargé.
6 Double-cliquez sur le fichier du logiciel décompressé
pour lancer le programme d’installation.
7 Lisez attentivement les clauses du contrat de licence,
et si vous les acceptez, cliquez sur [Agree].
!Si vous n’acceptez pas le contenu du contrat d’utilisation, cliquez
sur [Disagree] pour annuler l’installation.
8 Cliquez sur [Install].
9 Suivez les instructions affichées pour procéder à
l’installation.
10 Cliquez sur [Close] pour quitter le programme
d’installation.

À propos de l’installation du pilote sur
macOS High Sierra 10.13
La nouvelle fonctionnalité de sécurité a été ajoutée sur macOS High
Sierra 10.13.
Lors de l’installation du pilote Pioneer DJ sur macOS High Sierra 10.13,
ce dernier doit être authentifié. Suivez les procédures ci-dessous.
Vous devez suivre les procédures lorsque vous installez le pilote sur
macOS High Sierra 10.13 pour la première fois.
Si le pilote a été installé sur macOS ou OS X avant d’être mis à jour
sur macOS High Sierra 10.13, vous n’êtes pas obligé de suivre les
procédures.
Lors de l’installation du pilote Pioneer DJ sur macOS High Sierra
10.13, l’écran suivant apparaît.
Cliquez sur [OK].
Après avoir autorisé l’installation du pilote, cette dernière est alors
terminée.
1 Ouvrez [System Preferences], puis cliquez sur
[Security & Privacy].
2 Vérifiez que [System software from developer
“Pioneer DJ Corporation” was blocked from loading.]
s’affiche en bas de l’écran.
Ce message apparaît pendant 30 minutes dès que l’installation du pilote
débute.
S’il ne s’affiche pas, réinstallez le pilote.
3 Cliquez sur [Allow] en bas à droite de l’écran.
4 Si le produit DJ est relié au Mac, débranchez le câble
USB, puis rebranchez-le.
À propos de l’adaptateur secteur
Instructions relatives à la sécurité
!N’utilisez pas cet appareil si une pièce de monnaie, un trombone ou
un morceau de métal est coincé entre l’adaptateur secteur et la fiche
d’alimentation. Cela pourrait causer un court-circuit conduisant à un
incendie ou à un choc électrique.
!Lorsque vous raccordez l’adaptateur secteur à une prise murale,
assurez-vous de l’absence d’espace entre l’adaptateur secteur et
la prise murale. Un mauvais contact ou une pièce de monnaie, un
trombone ou un morceau de métal coincé dans cet espace pourrait
causer un court-circuit conduisant à un incendie ou à un choc
électrique.

!La fiche d’alimentation pourrait se détacher de l’adaptateur
secteur et rester dans la prise murale si quelqu’un trébuche sur le
cordon d’alimentation de l’adaptateur secteur ou si quelque chose
vient toucher l’adaptateur secteur. Dans ce cas, retirez la fiche
d’alimentation restant dans la prise avec des mains sèches, en la
tenant comme indiqué sur le schéma suivant et sans toucher les
parties métalliques. N’utilisez pas d’outils pour la retirer.
