this
switch
is
set

the
ON
position,
the
POWER
in-
dicator
lights
up,
and
power
is
supplied
to
the
tuner’s
main
circuits.
The
unit’s
POWER
switch
is
geared
to
selecting
the
transformer’s
secondary
and
so
even
at
the
STAND-BY
posi-
tion,
the
unit’s
circuitry
will
work
as
long
as
the
power
cord
is
connected
to
power
outlet.
Disconnect
the
power
cord
from
the
power
outlet
when
you
do
not
plan
to
use
the
unit
for
a
long
period
of
time.

lighting

This

is
used
to
select
either
AUTO
or
MANUAL
tun-
ing.
For
MANUAL
tuning,

switch;

indicator

The
MUTE
function

If
the
signal
from
a
station
is
comparatively
weak,
or
if
the
sta-
tion
is
some
distance
away,
reception
may
not
be
possible
using
AUTO
tuning.

such
cases,

MANUAL

MUTING
Muting
is
incorporated
to
eliminate
FM
inter-station
noise
that
can
be
heard
when
a
station
is
not
tuned
in
accurately.

possible
to
tune
in
the
desired
station
when
the
muting
circuit
is
activated
if
the
signal
is
weak
orif
the
station
itself
is
distant.
If
so,
perform
tuning
without
using
muting.
Muting
