When desired torque value is
reached, stop. Do not attempt to
overtighten the fastener.
4. Do not loosen a fastener.
5. Position batteries in proper polarity
and do not install batteries of
different types, charge levels, or
capacities together.
6. Do not submerge in water or any
other liquid.
7. Use as intended only. Do not use
as hammer or pry bar. Do not use
handle extension to increase force.

8. Inspect before every use; do not use
if damaged or parts loose.

drive and rated to at least the torque
that will be applied to it.

CONTROLS AND SETUP
UNPACKING
When unpacking, make sure that
the item is intact and undamaged. If any
parts are missing or broken, please call
Harbor Freight Tools at 1-800-444-3353 as
soon as possible.
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Open the Battery Cap at tend of
handle by pushing cap in and turning
it counterclockwise.
2. Install two (2) alkaline AA batteries
into the battery housing, positive end
rst into handle.
3. Position Battery Cap approximately
10 o’clock, puhs in squarely and twist
clockwise to lock.
NOTE: When batteries run low, a low
battery icon ( ) will appear on the
Display Screen.

Setup and Adjustments
1. Wear ANSI-approved safety goggles
and heavy-duty work gloves.
2. Clean and/or repair the threads that
will be tightened. Damaged or dirty
threads will result in a misleading
torque reading.
3. Select desired socket (Standard or
Metric) and verify t on fastener.
4. Press the socket rmly onto the anvil.

Basic Operation
1. Press and release the Power Button
to activate the Digital Torque Wrench.
NOTE: Do not press the Memory (M)
button and the Power Button at the
same time. Doing so will initiate the
Calibration Mode.
2. The Display Panel will read “trACE”.
3. After two seconds, the Display Panel
will read “00.0”.
4. Set the Direction Switch for clockwise
or counterclockwise operation. The
Switch shown above is in position for
clockwise operation.
5. Place socket onto the nut or bolt.
6. Press Memory and Mode buttons at
the same time to select the different
torque units.
NOTE: The Digital Torque contains 5
different unit selections (kg-cm, kg-m,
in-lb, ft-lb and N-m).
7. To select the torque value, press and
hold down the (+) button to increase
and the (-) button to decrease the
current target value.
NOTE: The target value will show for
ten (10) seconds before the Display
Panel will read “0.00”.
8. Tighten the fastener with a steady pull
on torque wrench handle. When 80%
of selected target value is reached,
the LED Light will ash and an audible
high-pitched beep will sound.
As the handle is pulled further,
beeping intervals will be shortened
and LED will ash faster. When the
desired torque value is reached, the
until will emit a soild buzz and the
LED will glow continously.
9. Stop pulling once you’ve reached
targeted torque value.
10. To store a torque reading, have the
digital torque wrench in “PtoP” mode.
When you use it, the torque wrench
can store the reading automatically.
11. Press the Memory button. The
Display Panel will show the stored
reading as “P01”.
12. To show the second stored reading,
press the Memory button again for
one second. The second torque
value will be designated as “P02”.

13. The Digital Torque Wrench can store
up to 50 torque values, the highest
being “P50”.
14. To gauge peak torque setting, press
and release the Mode Button while
wrench is on. The Display Panel will
show “PtoP” for two seconds before
returning to “00.0”.
15. To track that setting, press and
release the Mode Button while
wrench is on. The Display Panel will
show “trACE” for two seconds before
returning to “0.00”.
16. To activate the Display Panel’s light,
press and release the Display LED
Button. To deactivate the light, press
and release the button again.
17. To turn off the Digital Torque Wrench,
you can set down the tool and it
will automatically shut off after 80
seconds. Or you can press the press
and release the Power Button.
18. When nished, store the Digital
Torque Wrench indoors and out of
reach of children.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE,
AND LUBRICATION
TO PREVENT
INJURY FROM
TOOL FAILURE:
Do not use damaged
equipment. If abnormal noise
or vibration occurs, have the
problem corrected before
further use.
1. BEFORE EACH USE, inspect the
general condition of the tool. Check
for loose hardware, misalignment or
binding of moving parts, cracked or
broken parts and any other condition
that may affect its safe operation.
2. If the Torque Wrench has not been
used for some time, install new
batteries and calibrate the settings.
Then, operate at a low torque
setting several times. This ensures
proper operation.
3. Wipe Torque Wrench with a cloth to
clean. Do not immerse in any cleaning
solution. This would damage the
internal lubrication.
4. The Torque Wrench was calibrated
and tested to ± 2%. Periodically have
the Wrench calibrated and serviced
by a qualied technician. To calibrate
settings, press the Memory and
Power buttons at the same time.
5. Store inside case in a clean and dry
location.
NOTE: Remove batteries if Digital
Torque Wrench will be stored for a
long period of time.
PLEASE NOTE: Replacement parts are
not available for this item.
