TROUBLESHOOTING
If the Wi-Fi® connection has been lost,
any scheduled timers may not execute
depending on the outage time. Re-connect
the Wi-Fi® network.
If the Wink app has lost control of the
smart outlets, it may be that Pivot Power
Genius has lost its connection to the Wi-Fi®
network. Try turning the power strip OFF
then ON again to restore its connection.
If you experience a power outage, power
will cease to ALL outlets and the Wink
app connection will be lost. When power
is restored, check the main power button
to ensure the power strip is ON to regain
connection.
If you can’t control the smart outlets from
a different mobile device, ensure you are
using the same account information within
the app.

GETTINGSTARTED
1 Download and install the Wink app on your
mobile device as outlined in the Quick
Start Card. The app will enable a Wi-Fi®
connection between your mobile device
and Pivot Power Genius.
2 Plug Pivot Power Genius into a grounded
wall outlet and press the power button to
turn it ON. When the power strip is ON,
the main power indicator light will glow.
DO NOT plug devices into any of the
outlets at this time.
When the power strip is turned ON, the
two regular outlets are always ON. The
two smart outlets are defaulted to OFF.
3 Open the Wink app. Follow the app’s
instructions to connect to your Pivot
Power Genius.
Your mobile device connects by sending
light pulses into a sensor on your Pivot
Power Genius. It is best to do this in a
dimly lit environment.
4 Once you’ve connected, you can plug
devices into Pivot Power Genius
Note: DO NOT OVERLOAD the power strip.
ONLY connect the device to a grounded outlet.
DO NOT connect to an ungrounded outlet.
DO NOT extend or daisy chain with other
power strips or adapters.
USINGPIVOTPOWERGENIUS
You can use Pivot Power Genius to:
1 Adjust and rotate each outlet to fit
designated areas and/or large plugs
and power adapters.
2 Turn ALL outlets ON or OFF using the
main power button.
3 Control both smart outlets:
By manually turning each outlet’s switch
ON/OFF from your Wink App or using
the buttons on the side of the power strip.
By scheduling each smart outlet to turn
ON/OFF via the Wink app. Use it to set
notifications for Wi-Fi® or power status.
Note: LEDs next to each smart outlet indicate
whether that outlet is ON or OFF.

parts inside. Refer servicing to qualified

Timer could turn-on unexpectedly without the
user being present. To Reduce the Hazardous
Condition – unplug the appliance that is plugged
into the receptacle(s) controlled by the timer
before servicing.
CAUTION
This unit must be connected to an outlet with
a protective grounded connection.
CAUTION
To completely disconnect this product from
power, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet.
The plug is used to completely disconnect the
power supply to the unit and must be within easy
access to the user.
CAUTION
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not
perform any servicing other than that contained
in the operating instructions unless you are
qualified to do so.
CAUTION
Wink devices connect by receiving flashing
light patterns that come from your phone’s
screen. Please note that a very small percentage
of individuals may experience epileptic seizures
when exposed to such light patterns or flashing
lights. If you have an epileptic condition,
consult your physician prior to using this app
to connect a device.

1 Read Instructions—All safety and operating
instructions should be read before operating
the device.
2 Heed Warnings—All warnings on the device and
in the operating instructions should be adhered to.
3 Follow Instructions—All operating and safety
instructions should be followed.
4 Water & Moisture—The device should never be
used in, on or near water for risk of electric shock.
5 Ventilation—The device should always be located
in such a way that it maintains proper ventilation.
6 Heat—Never locate the device near heat sources
such as radiators, floor registers, stoves or other
heat-generating devices.
7 Grounding—DESIGNEDFORINDOORUSEONLY!
The device should ONLY beconnected to a
grounded outlet. DONOT connect product to an
ungrounded outlet.
8 CAUTION: Risk of Electric Shock. Do not plug
into other Relocatable Power Taps.
9 Power Cord Protection—Power cables should
be routed so they are not likely to be stepped
on or crushed by items placed on them or against
them. Special attention should be paid to areas
where the plug enters a socket and where the
cord exits the device.
10 Cleaning—Clean product with a damp so cloth.
DONOT submerge Pivot Power Genius in water.
*Always unplug device from power before cleaning
11 Periods Of Non-Use—Make sure to unplug Pivot
Power Genius when it is not expected to be used
for several months.
12 Dangerous Entry—Care should be taken that no
foreign objects or liquids fall or are spilled on or
inside the device.
13 Damage Requiring Service—The device should
be serviced by licensed technicians when:
• The internal electronic components
have been damaged.
• Objects have fallen or liquid spilled inside
of the device.
• The device has been exposed to moisture.
• The device does not appear to be operating
properly or exhibits a marked change in
performance.
• The device has been dropped or becomes
damaged.
14 Service—The device should always be serviced
by licensed technicians. Only replacement parts
specified by the manufacturer should be used.
The use of unauthorized substitutions may result
in fire, shock, or other hazards.
15 When servicing: Unplug any appliance that is
plugged into the power strip before servicing.
16 Caution–Do not install this device if there is
not at least meters ( feet) or more of wire
between the electrical outlet and the electrical
service panel.
17 Pivot Power Genius features an internal
protection that will disconnect the surge protective
component but will maintain power to the load –
now unprotected. If this situation is undesirable
for the application, follow the manufacturer’s
instructions for replacing this device.

PRODUCTWARRANTY
Quirky, Inc. (“Quirky”) warrants to the original
purchaser (“Purchaser”) of this Quirky product,
for the period of one (1) year following the date
on which Purchaser purchases the product, that
the product shall be free of defects in design,
assembly, material, or workmanship.
Quirky will repair or replace, at its option, any
defective product free of charge.
In order to qualify for this warranty, the
Purchaser must provide the defective product
and a copy of the original receipt of purchase,
to Quirky for inspection.
The receipt of purchase must indicate the
product purchased, price paid, date of
purchase, and name of merchant.
Alternatively, at the Purchaser’s election, but
subject to Quirky’s approval, the Purchaser
may obtain replacement parts from Quirky,
free of charge. To obtain replacements parts,
the Purchaser must provide the product serial
number to Quirky in connection with any request
for replacement parts.

18 Wi-Fi® controlled receptacles are not to be used
with devices that could pose a safety concern if
the receptacle inadvertently turns ON or OFF,
including but not limited to heater type devices
(irons, space heaters, coffee makers, etc.) and
medical equipment.
19 High power devices such as air conditioners,
refrigerators and power tools should not be
plugged into a surge protected power strip
like Pivot Power Genius. Such devices can
cause surges when they are turned on and
off. Exposing the surge protector to additional
surge events will accelerate wear and tear on
the surge protection feature and degrade it’s
performance.

This product and its packaging materials are
recyclable. Please dispose of any materials in
accordance with the local recycling regulations.
When discarding the unit, comply with local
rules or regulations. This product and the
supplied accessories constitute the applicable
product according to the WEEE directive.

DÉPANNAGE
En cas de perte de liaison Wi-Fi®,
les programmateurs pourraient ne pas
fonctionner (en fonction de l’heure de
la panne). Réactivez le réseau Wi-Fi®.
Si l’appli Wink a perdu le contrôle des prises
intelligentes, c’est peut-être parce que Pivot
Power Genius n’est plus connecté au réseau
Wi-Fi®. Essayez de désactiver et réactiver la
multi-prises pour rétablir la connexion.
En cas de panne de courant, toutes les prises
seront coupées et la connexion à l’appli Wink
sera perdue. Lorsque le courant est rétabli,
vérifiez le bouton d’alimentation principal
pour faire en sorte que la multi-prises soit
active avant de rétablir la connexion.
Si vous ne pouvez pas contrôler les prises
intelligentes à partir d’un appareil mobile
différent, vérifiez si vous utilisez le même
compte dans l’appli.

DÉMARRAGE
1 Téléchargez et installez l’appli Wink sur
votre appareil mobile selon les indications
de la carte de démarrage rapide. L’appli
permettra la liaison Wi-Fi® entre votre
appareil mobile et Pivot Power Genius.
2 Branchez Pivot Power Genius dans une
prise murale reliée au sol et appuyez sur
le bouton d’alimentation pour la mettre
sous tension. Lorsque la multi-prises est
allumée, le témoin lumineux s’allume. Ne
branchez rien dans les prises à ce stade.
Lorsque la multi-prises est sous tension,
les deux prises standard sont toujours
actives. Les deux prises intelligentes sont
coupées par défaut.
3 Lancez l’appli Wink. Suivez les consignes
del’appli pour vous connecter à Pivot
Power Genius.
Votre appareil mobile se connecte en
envoyant des impulsions lumineuses au
capteur de votre Pivot Power Genius.
Il est préférable de procéder dans un
espace peu éclairé.
4 Une fois l’appareil connecté, branchez
les appareils dans Pivot Power Genius.

6 Chaleur – Ne placez jamais l’appareil à proximité
de sources de chaleur, tels les radiateurs, les
grilles de soufflage, les poêles et autres systèmes
de chauffage.
7 Mise au sol – UTILISATION A L’INTERIEUR
UNIQUEMENT ! L’appareil ne doit être branché
qu’à une prise reliée au sol. Ne branchez pas
l’appareil sur une prise non mise au sol.
8 Attention : Risque d’électrocution.
Ne pas brancher dans d’autres multi-prises.
9 Protection du câble d’alimentation – Les câbles
d’alimentation doivent être placés de telle sorte
à éviter tout piétinement ou écrasement par
des objets. Gardez à l’oeil les zones où la fiche
est insérée dans une prise ou une allonge, et la
jonction de l’appareil et du câble.
10 Nettoyage – Nettoyer le produit avec
un chiffon doux humide. Ne pas immerger
Pivot Power Genius dans l’eau.

11 Périodes de non-utilisation – Débranchez Pivot
Power Genius si vous ne comptez pas l’utiliser
pendant plusieurs mois.
12 Accès dangereux – Veillez à éviter tout accès
decorps étrangers ou liquides à l’intérieur ou
surl’appareil.
13 Dégâts nécessitant une réparation – L’appareil
doit être réparé par des techniciens qualifiés
uniquement lorsque :
• Les composants électroniques internes ont
étéendommagés.
• Le matériel est tombé ou du liquide est rentré
dans l’appareil.
• L’appareil a été exposé à l’humidité.
• L’appareil semble ne pas fonctionner
correctement ou si vous constatez une baisse
des performances.
• L’appareil est tombé ou a été endommagé.
14 Entretien – L’appareil doit toujours être réparé
par des techniciens qualifiés. Seules les pièces de
rechange stipulées par le fabricant doivent être
utilisées. L’utilisation d’autres pièces peut entraîner
des incendies, électrocutions ou autres risques.
15 Lors de l’entretien : débranchez tous les
appareils de la multi-prises avant tout entretien.

provoquer des surtensions lorsqu’ils sont activés
et désactivés. L’exposition du fusible à des
surtensions accélère l’usure du système et limite
ses performances.
