General safety
advice
WARNING: The swimming pool can be a real danger for your
children. A child can drown very quickly. You must constantly
keep a close eye on all children close to a swimming pool,
even if they know how to swim.
WARNING: A responsible adult
must always be present when the
pool is open.
WARNING: Learn basic first aid and rescue skills.
Display emergency numbers near to the swimming pool and
remember them:
FIRE SERVICE: 18 (in France)
AMBULANCE SERVICE: 15 (in France)
POISON CONTROL CENTRE
WARNING: This cover cannot replace common sense and
individual responsibility. Neither is it intended to replace
supervision by parents and/or responsible adults, which is
essential for protecting young children.
WARNING: IMPORTANT the cover can only be considered safe
when it is closed, locked and correctly installed, in
compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
WARNING: The cover must systematically be closed when
you leave your house, even if just for a very short time.
WARNING: Take all the measures required to make sure that
young children cannot access the pool until the cover has
been repaired, when it is being worked on, if the pool cannot
be closed or made safe or if the equipment or the pool is
temporarily unavailable.
WARNING: Keep all tools required to open and close the
covers out of the reach of children. Make sure that children do
not play with the device.
WARNING: You must not walk, climb or jump on a safety
cover.
WARNING: Comply with the water levels defined by the
manufacturer.

The mechanism must only be operated by a responsible
adult, who has previously been informed of the operation
and who is able to perform it.
WARNING: Always keep your eye on the pool when opening
and closing the cover.
Checking the water level
If the level is too high, partially drain the pool.
If the level is too low, fill the pool.
Before opening the cover, unlock the slats’ hooks.
(see the page on locking/unlocking the slats’ hooks).
Repeat the operation for each of the slats' hooks.
Zoé model: Hold the key in the open position during the
entire operation. Release the key when the last slat leaves the
water. If there is a problem, release the key and the cover will
stop immediately.
Oscar model: Move the key to the open position. Release the
key and remain beside it until the cover has finished opening.
The cover will automatically stop in a completely open
position. If there is a problem, move the key back to the
central position. The cover will stop immediately.
Make sure there are no foreign bodies on the cover before and
during the operation.
WARNING: The cover must never be stopped in an
intermediate position, as this could lead to someone getting
trapped in the cover's casing if they swim under the cover. The
person carrying out the operation must first make sure that
no-one is in the pool.
After opening the cover, do not forget to remove the key from
the control switch.
The mechanism must only be operated by a responsible
adult, who has previously been informed of the
operation and who is able to perform it.
WARNING: Always keep your eye on the pool when opening
and closing the cover.
When the cover is closing, make sure that nobody comes near
or enters the pool until it has been made completely safe.
Move the control key to the CLOSE position and hold it in this
position until the pool is completely covered.
If the key is released, the cover will stop.
Zoé model: Move the control key to the close position and
hold it in this position until the pool is completely closed.
Release the key as soon as the first slats of the cover touch the
end wall. If the key is released, the cover will stop
immediately.
Oscar model: Move the control key to the close position and
hold it in this position until the pool is completely closed. The
cover will automatically stop in a completely closed position.
If there is a problem, release the key and the cover will stop
immediately.
IMPORTANT Whilst you are closing the cover, make sure that
nobody enters the pool.
After closing it, lock all the hooks. (see the page on
locking/unlocking the hooks).
WARNING: The cover must never be stopped in an
intermediate position, as this could lead to someone getting
trapped in the cover's casing if they swim under the cover. The
person carrying out the operation must first make sure that
no-one is in the pool.
WARNING: After closing the cover, do not forget to remove the
key from the control unit.

Clean your cover regularly
The cover must be cleaned regularly, at least twice a year.
Appropriate cleaning products must be used. Never use solvents
or abrasive products that may damage the PVC slats. Use very
mild detergents or preferably clean water. Ideally, the slats
should be cleaned using a high pressure washer, with no
detergent, pressure set to 80 bar and with temperature below
40°C.
Regularly check the water equilibrium
The water Ph level must be between 7.2 and 7.6, the chlorine
level between 0.7 and 1.2 ppm and the bromine level around
2 ppm.
The Ph level must never be below 7.
A residual chlorine level higher than 2 ppm will lead to the
oxidation of stainless steel and aluminium elements.
Overdosing chemicals, using them for too long or too often will
damage your pool. You are also advised to partially drain the
pool once a year to avoid excessive concentration of chemical
products, dissolved solids or organic matter.
Before using treatment processes that do not use chlorine,
bromine or ozone, you must ask for confirmation from the
manufacturer.
A 100 ppm alkaline level is recommended.
If the water is supplied by a water distribution company, it must
comply with standards. If it comes from a borehole, a water
catchment or a well, you must get it analysed and ask for
advice.
What you need to know about producing chlorine with a
chlorinator:
The production rate of a chlorinator varies between 1 and 10,
depending on whether the cover is open or closed. If the cover
is always closed, very little chlorine needs to be produced. The
production time will need to be adapted to the position of the
cover, open or closed, and the temperature. You must therefore
frequently monitor and measure the chlorine level to regulate
it. A chlorinator is rarely an automated system.

Water temperature
The water temperature must be kept below 30°C.
You must also filter the water during periods when the slats
receive large amounts of direct sunshine.
Winterizing
Treat the water with winterizing products
Drain the pipes and block them off
Place winterizing buoys diagonally under the cover
Place a winterizing kit in the skimmers
Close the cover (cover rolled out on the water)
Remove the key from the control switch so that the cover
cannot be operated when there is frost.
Disconnect the switch box. Disconnect the batteries and
store them in a sheltered place.
If possible, the pool should be winterized by a professional who
is familiar with the equipment and your pool. The winterizing
buoys must not warp the slats.
Limited winterizing.
For a pool located in a main residence, the other solution is not
to winterize it. Every morning, the filter system should be
activated for 2 hours with suction by the skimmers.
In very cold weather, increase the filtration time.
The advantages of this limited winterizing is that you use fewer
products, the joints do not dry up, you can leave a robot
operating under the cover and opening the pool again is much
easier. The disadvantage is that you need to monitor the pool
during very cold periods.
In any event, it is the pool maintenance specialist who is
responsible for deciding which solution should be used,
depending on how knowledgeable or available the customer is,
as well as the geographical location.

Periodic checks
Apart from being cleaned, your cover does not require regular
maintenance.
However, as the system is related to personal safety, its functioning
and condition must be checked by your installer once a year or after
an incident (something or somebody falling onto the cover for
example).
The following points must be checked in particular:
Correct functioning of all hooking systems and their fixings.
Condition of the slats with all broken or cracked slats replaced.
Functioning of the motor and limit switch settings (Oscar model
only).
Check the installation frequently to detect any operating anomalies.
Check that the overflow system (water level) works properly.
All parts must be replaced with genuine parts.
WARNING: Should a malfunction be detected that prevents the pool
being closed and made safe or if the pool equipment is temporarily
unavailable, take all the measures required to prevent young
children from accessing the pool until the cover has been repaired.

All electrical and electronic equipment must be disposed of separately
from general household waste using the sites designated by local
authorities. The crossed-out rubbish bin symbol means that your cover
motor is subject to European Directive 2002/96/EC. The appropriate disposal and
separate collection of used equipment serve to prevent potential harm to the
environment and to health. They are a precondition for the re-use and recycling of
used electrical and electronic equipment.
For further information on disposing of your used equipment, please contact your
local authority, your refuse collection service or your swimming pool specialist.
