Thank you for purchasing Plextor solid-state drives, brought to you by the brand name that has been leader in digital world. We hope you enjoy
the experiences with this new drive.
1.Unpacking your drive:
a. Plextor Solid-State Drive

2.Installing your drive:
a. Installing SSD drive in a new computer or as an additional drive:
i. Refer to your computer
’
s user manual on how to unplug power plug (and remove battery from a notebook), then open your computer case.
ii. Install the new SSD drive by connecting power and SATA cables, and then close up your computer case.
iii. Plug in power plug (replace battery in notebook) and power on your computer.
iv. Allow your computer operation system to detect and install new devices.
v. Oncefinished, your drive will be ready to use*
b. Using SSD as an external device:
i. Select an external enclosure that is 2.5
”
form factor and supports SATA interface.
ii. Install the SSD inside the enclosure, and connect to PC with USB cable(s) (If the enclosure comes with additional power options, such as a
second USB cable, we recommend using it to avoid possible power interruption)
iii. Allow your computer

s operation system to detect, install new devices.
iv. Once finished, your drive will be ready to use. *

1. Plextor SSD drive is preformatted with NTFS file systems, so it is ready to use. If you need to reformat the drive to any other format, use

1.1 Installing Acronis True Image HD
To install Acronis True Image HD:
•Run the Acronis True Image HD setup file
•In the Install Menu, select the program to install:Acronis True Image OEM
•Follow the install wizard instructions on the screen
Typical, Custom and Complete installation is available. Having pressed
Custom,
you can choose not to install
Rescue Media Builder.
With
Rescue Media Builder
you can create bootable rescue disks (see details in Chapter 7.Creating bootable media). Installing the
Bootable
Rescue Media Builder
will allow you to create bootable media or its ISO image at any time from the main program window or running
Bootable Rescue Media Builder
on its own.
After installation is completed, Acronis True Image HD creates a new device in the Device Manager list
(Control
Panel→System→Hardware→Device Manager→Acronis Devices→Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer).
Do not disable or uninstall this device, as it is necessary for connecting image archives as virtual disks (see Chapter 9. Exploring archives and
mounting images).
1.2 Running Acronis True Image HD
You can run Acronis True Image HD in Windows by selecting
Start→Programs→Acronis→Acronis True Image→Acronis True Image HD
or by clicking on the appropriate shortcut on the
desktop.
If your disk data is totally corrupted and the operating system cannot boot, load the standalone Acronis True Image HD version from the bootable
media, created created using Rescue Media Builder using Rescue Media Builder. This boot disk will allow you to restore your disk from a
previously created image.
1.3 Removing Acronis True Image HD
Select Start→Settings→Control panel→Add or remove programs→<Acronis True Image>→Remove.
Then follow the instructions on the screen. You may have to reboot your computer afterwards to complete the task.
If you use Windows Vista, select
Start→Control panel→Programs and Features→<Acronis True Image>→Remove.
Then follow the instructions on the screen. Rebooting may be required.
2.1 Transferring the System to a NewDisk
There are two transfer modes available: automatic and manual.
Automatic mode: a fewsimple actions to transfer all the data, including partitions, folders and

les, to a newdisk, making it bootable if the original disk was bootable.
Manual mode provides more data transfer flexibility.
1. Selectable method of partition and data transfer:
•as is
•new disk space proportionally distributed between old disk partitions
•new disk space distributed manually
2. Selectable operations to perform on the old disk:
•leave partitions (and data) on old disk
•remove all information from old disk
•create new partitions on old disk (and remove all old information)
2.2 Security
Please take note: if the power goes out or you accidentally press RESET during the transfer, the procedure will be incomplete and you will have
to partition and format or clone the hard disk again.
No data will be lost, however, we do not recommend that you delete data
from the old disk until you are sure it is correctly transferred to the new disk,
the computer boots up from it and all applications work.
2.3 Executing transfers
2.3.1 Selecting Clone mode
You will see the Clone Mode window just after the welcome window.
We recommend using automatic mode in most cases. The manual mode
can be useful if you need to change the disk partition layout.
If the program finds two disks, one partitioned and another unpartitioned, it
will automatically recognize the partitioned disk as the source disk and the
unpartitioned disk as the destination disk. In such a case, the next steps will
be bypassed and you will be taken to the cloning Summary screen.

2.3.2 Selecting source disk
If the program finds several partitioned disks, it will ask you which one is the
source (i.e. the older data disk).
You can determine the source and destination using the information
provided in this window (disk number, capacity, label, partition, and file
system information).
2.3.3 Selecting destination disk
After you select the source disk, please select destination to where the disk
information will be copied.
The previously selected source becomes grayed-out and disabled for
selection.

2.3.4 Partitioned destination disk
At this point, the program checks to see if the destination disk is free. If
not, you will be prompted by the Conformation window stating that the
destination disk contains partitions, perhaps with useful data.
To confirm deletion of partitions, click OK.
2.3.5 Selecting partition transfer method
When you select the manual cloning mode, Acronis True Image HD will offer
you the following data move methods:
•
As is
•
Proportional
-new disk space will be proportionally distributed among
cloned partitions
•
Manual
-you will specify the new size and other parameters yourself
If you elect to transfer information "as is," a new partition will be created
for every old one with the same size and type, file system and label. The
unused space will become unallocated. Afterwards, you will be able to use
the unallocated space to create new partitions or to enlarge the existing
partitions with special tools, such as Acronis Disk Director Suite.
As a rule, "as is" transfers are not recommended as they leave a lot of
unallocated space on the new disk. Using the "as is" method, Acronis True
Image HD transfers unsupported and damaged file systems.

2.3.6 Cloning withmanual partitioning
The picture below shows the new disk layout. Along with the hard disk
number, you will see disk capacity, label, partition, and file system
information. Different partition types, including primary, logical, and
unallocated space are marked with different colors.
First, select a partition to resize and click Edit on the toolbar. This will open
the Partition Settings window, where you can resize and relocate the
partition.
You can do this by entering values in the
Free space before, Partition
size, Free space after
fields, by dragging partition borders or the partition
itself.
If the cursor turns into two vertical lines with left and right arrows, it is pointed
at the partition border and you can drag it to enlarge or reduce the partition
’
s
size. If the cursor turns into four arrows, it is pointed at the partition, so you
can move it to the left or right (if there's unallocated space near it).
Having provided the new location and size, click
Accept.
You will be taken
back to the Change disk layout window. You might have to perform some
more resizing and relocation before you get the layout you need.
If you transfer data proportionally, each partition will be enlarged, according to the proportion of the old and new disk capacities.
FAT16 partitions are enlarged less than others, as they have a 4GB size limit.
Depending on the selected combination, you will proceed to either the cloning summary window, or the Change disk layout step (see below).

2.3.7 Cloning summary
The cloning summary window graphically (as rectangles) illustrates
information about the source disk (partitions and unallocated space) and
the destination disk layout. Along with the disk number, some additional
information is provided: disk capacity, label, partition and file system
information. Partition types-primary, logical and unallocated space-are
marked with different colors.
Cloning a disk containing the currently active operating system will require a
reboot. In that case, after clicking
Proceed
you will be asked to confirm the
reboot. Canceling the reboot will cancel the entire procedure. After the clone
process finishes you will be offered an option to shut down the computer by
pressing any key. This enables you to change the position of master/slave
jumpers and remove one of the hard drives.
Cloning a non-system disk or a disk containing an operating system, but
one that is not currently active, will proceed without the need to reboot. After
you click
Proceed,
Acronis True Image HD will start cloning the old disk
to the new disk, indicating the progress in a special window. You can stop
this procedure by clicking
Cancel.
In that case, you will have to repartition
and format the new disk or repeat the cloning procedure. After the cloning
operation is complete, you will see the results message.

1.1 Installing Acronis True Image HD
如何安裝 Acronis True Image HD:
•執行Acronis True Image HD安裝檔.
•在安裝選單下, 選擇要安裝的程式: Acronis True Image OEM.

2.2 安全性

硬碟當作來源硬碟，而將無分割區的硬碟當成是目標硬碟。這時，
下面兩個步驟將直接跳過。

2.3.2 選擇資料來源的磁碟
如果程式偵測到多顆有分割區的硬碟，將會詢問您以哪一顆硬碟為來
源（舊資料儲存）硬碟。
您可以就視窗內顯示的資料（磁碟代號、容量、標籤、分割區與檔案
系統資訊）選定來源與目標硬碟。
2.3.3 選擇目標磁碟
您選定來源硬碟之後，會要您再選擇一顆將資料移轉的目標硬碟。
您之前所選的來源硬碟，這時會被淡化而無法選取。

2.3.4 已分割的目標磁碟
進行到這裡，程式將會偵測目標硬碟是否完全空白。如果有其他資料
時，程式將會提出非空白目標硬碟的警告，並告訴您該硬碟中仍含有
儲存資料的分割區。

2.3.5 選擇分隔磁碟與資料移轉的處理方式
如果您選擇手動複製模式時，程式將近一步詢問您有關來源硬碟的處
理方式。
•原原原原
•原原原-目標硬碟中的磁區分割配置方式，將會依照來源硬碟中的配
置，等比放大。
•原原-您將需要指定所有分割區的大小以及其他參數。
如果您勾選「不變」時，目標硬碟將會依照來源硬碟的大小，製作完
全一樣空間的分割區，並將所有資料完全複製。若有任何剩餘的空間
時，將會成為未配置區。進一步的說，您即能運用其他的工具（例如
安裝Acronis Disk Director Suite）來規劃未配置區的空間，新建分割
區或是用以增加原有分割區的空間。
基於上述理由，我們不建議您使用「原封不動」來移轉資料，因為

2.3.6 手動配置分割區的複製

若要重新配置分割區，請勾選執行重新配置。如果您滿意目前的分割
區規劃，則不要勾選（如果已勾選）。按下一步後，即會進入複製作
業簡報畫面。
首先，選擇一個分割區來做配置，該區下緣會以紅線標示。在接下來
的步驟中，指定該區域的大小及位置。
您能夠以輸入前面的未配置空間、分割區的大小、後面的未配置空間
所需的大小來配置分割區， 您也能夠以滑鼠拖曳的方式設定分割區
的大小以及位置。
當滑鼠指標變成兩條平行直線旁邊有左右的箭頭時，表示目前的指標
正指在分割區的邊界上，此時就可以按住滑鼠左右移動來控制分割區
的大小。如果指標變成四個箭頭時表示指標目前指向該分割區，您可
以按住滑鼠左右移動來搬移該分割區的位置（當它附近還有其他未配
置區域時）。
分配完該分割區的位置與大小後，按下一步。您就可以看到我們之前
提到的配置圖。您可能還需要再設定其他的分割區的話，全部配置完
成後也會進入配置圖的顯示畫面中。
如果您以比例的方式轉移，所有的分割區將會依照目標硬碟的所有可用空間，等比例放大。
FAT16格式較無法如同其他格式一般的放大分割區，因為受到4GB的空間限制。依據您所勾選的組合，您將會進入來
源硬碟的分割區配置或是顯示硬碟配置圖的視窗中（以下有說明）。

2.3.7 複製硬碟簡報
複製硬碟簡報視窗中能夠看到來源硬碟的配置圖(包含切割與未分配
的空間)， 圖中將會有磁碟代號，以及其他相關資訊 硬碟空間、標
籤、分割區與檔案系統等。
分割區的配置，包含主要、邏輯以及未配置空間，皆以不同的顏色標
記以便區分。
要複製目前作業系統到其他新硬碟時，將會需要您重開機。這種狀況
下，在您按下執行之後，程式將要求您確認在整個複製作業完成之
後，程式會詢問您是否需要按下任意鍵關機。這樣讓您能夠更換新舊
硬碟的排線位置並重設jumper，或是移除舊硬碟。重開機的動作。如

mundo digital. Favor de leer detalladamente esta breve introducción y, disfrute de los beneficios de esta nueva unidad.
1.Contenidos de la unidad:

2.Instalación de la unidad:
a.Uso del SSD en una nueva PC (o notebook) o como un dispositivo adicional:
i.Consulte el guía de usuario de su PC para lo siguiente: desconectar el enchufe (o quitar la batería de su notebook) y, abrir el gabinete de
su PC.
ii.Instale el SSD nuevo conectando los cables de fuente y de datos SATA a la unidad y finalize cerrando el gabinete de su PC.

* Notas:
a.La unidad SSD de Plextor llega formateada bajo el sistema NTFS, o sea lista para usar. Si acaso tiene que cambiarla hacia otro formato, sólo

b.Procure de siempre cuidar de su SSD. Evite ambientes con demasiada temperatura o humedad y nunca bajo la luz del sol. Nunca doble o

0.1 Apague el PC por completo y desenchufe los cables de alimentación

1.2 Ejecutar Acronis True Image HD

Modo Automático: con unos sencillos pasos transferirá todos los datos, incluyendo las particiones, carpetas y archivos, a un disco nuevo,
haciéndolo de arranque si el original lo era.
Modo Manual: ofrece más flexibilidad para transferir los datos.
1. Método seleccionable de transferencia de partición y datos:
•igual
•espacio del disco nuevo distribuido proporcionalmente entre las particiones del disco antiguo
•espacio del disco nuevo distribuido manualmente
2. Operaciones seleccionables para realizarlas en el disco antiguo:
•dejar particiones (y datos) en el disco antiguo
•eliminar toda la información del disco antiguo
•crear nuevas particiones en el disco antiguo (y quitar toda la información antigua)
2.2 Seguridad
Nota: Si se queda sin corriente o si presiona RESET por error durante la transferencia, el proceso quedará incompleto. Puede que necesite
particiónar y formatear o clonar el disco duro de nuevo.
No se perderán los datos. Sin embargo, no recomendamos que elimine los datos del disco antiguo hasta que compruebe que se han transferido
correctamente al disco nuevo, que el ordenador se reinicia y todas las aplicaciones funcionan.

2.3.1 Seleccionar el Modo de clonación
Verá la ventana Modo de clonación justo después de la ventana de
bienvenida.
Recomendamos utilizar el modo automático en la mayoría de los casos.
El modo manual puede resultar útil si necesita cambiar la distribución de la
partición del disco.
Si el programa encuentra dos discos, uno particionado y otro sin
particiones, reconocerá automáticamente el disco particionado como el
disco de origen y el disco no particionado como el disco de destino. En
este caso, los pasos siguientes serán omitidos y aparecerá la pantalla
Resumen.
2.3.2 Seleccionar el disco de origen
Si el programa encuentra varios discos particionados, le preguntará cuál
es la fuente (es decir, el disco de datos antiguo).
Puede determinar la fuente y el destino usando la información ofrecida
en esta ventana (información del número del disco, capacidad, etiqueta,
partición y sistema de archivos).
