ABOUT YOUR PERSONAL SAFETY
Your personal safety is just that...... personal. You are responsible for
your own safety. We build the best possible products for the purposes
stated, but it is up to you to be responsible for applying these, and
other products, safely.
Your personal safety is inuenced by the decisions you make. Take
the time to read and understand these instructions, and get the
instruction you need for your application. The high angle environment
is a potentially dangerous one. We hope you take it as seriously as we
do. The included pull cord for releasing the capture cam on the pulley is
NOT a life safety rope and should never be used to support a life safety
load.
Proper training, good equipment and a personal commitment to safety
will lessen the danger of rope work. However, take care not to become
complacent. Inspect your equipment, rigging, anchors and that of
others around you for safety at all times when you are in the vertical
environment.
Activities involving the use of the life safety rope are inherently
dangerous. Such activities include, but are not limited to, ascending
and descending xed lines, hauling, highlines, positioning, and belaying.
Special knowledge and training are required to use this product.
Read this brochure entirely. If a copy was not provided with your rope,
or you have lost yours, contact PMI for a free copy.
You are responsible for your own actions and decisions; if you do not
accept this responsibility, do not use this product.
You must thoroughly read and understand all manufacturers
instructions before use.
Use and inspect this rope only in accordance with the manufacturers
instructions provided here.
Save these instructions.
Your new haul system has been assembled from the nest components
to give you years of dependable service. The compact form factor
provides an extremely strong and versatile haul system for about three
pounds. This pre-rigged system gives either a 5:1 or 4:1 mechanical
advantage with no rigging required. Just ip the system end to end to
set up for either mechanical advantage as needed. A big advantage of
this haul system is the incorporation of the SMC Advance Tech line of
pulleys which provide a built-in progress capture system
that can be reset with an included lanyard. The capture cam can also
be parked to allow the system to run freely. Your new system also
comes with PMI 9mm static rope and SMC locking steel carabiners.

In order to use your haul system, simply remove it from the storage
bag, extend the system to the desired length, clip the carabiner on each
end to the anchor and the load respectively, and pull on the haul line.
It’s that easy!
To use the haul system in the 4:1 mechanical advantage conguration,
the Advance Tech HX pulley with the progress capture is attached
to the anchor and the Advance Tech mate (no progress capture) is
attached to the load. Just reverse the ends (ip end to end) to use the
system in a 5:1 mechanical advantage conguration. (See diagrams on
the right.)
The progress capture cam will capture the progress as the load is
raised, allowing for easily moving one’s hands for the next pull on the
haul line. The cam can be parked to allow the system to run freely
without using the progress capture feature. It can also be released by
pulling on the attached lanyard. See the Advance HX pulley instructions
for details of these features.
