WELCOME
Thanks for choosing Polar! In this guide, we’ll walk
you through the basics of using and caring for Polar
Equine FT1 Healthcheck. You can download the user
manual in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Finnish and

PRODUCT PARTS
1.T31 transmitter with a handlebar: the transmitter
sends the ECG accurate heart rate signal to the
training computer.
2.FT1 training computer: the training computer
displays the heart rate.
USING FT1 HEALTHCHECK
1.Wet the horse’s hair abundantly as indicated (1).
Alternatively, you can use electrode gel.
2.Place the transmitter againts the hair of the
horse (2). Keep the FT1 training computer within
1 meter / 3 feet from the transmitter.
3.Press the button to start. Your horse’s heart rate
appears in 5 seconds.
4.Press the button to stop.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Abnormal Heart Rate Readings
• Make sure that the transmitter is rmly against
the horse.
• Make sure that the horse’s hair under the
transmitter is thoroughly moistened.
• Accumulated sweat and dirt may interfere with
the measurement of the signal from the heart to
the transmitter. Check if the transmitter needs
cleaning.
• If the heart rate measurement still does not
work, the battery of your transmitter or training
computer may be empty. Have the battery
checked by authorized Polar service personnel.
Contact your distributor/dealer for details.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Care and Maintenance
Follow the caring instructions to ensure reliable
measurement and to maximize the life span of the
transmitter and training computer. The following
instructions will help you fulll the guarantee
obligations.
Keep the transmitter and training computer in
a cool and dry place. Do not store in a damp
environment, in non-breathable material (a plastic
bag or a sports bag) or with conductive material
(a wet towel). Do not expose to direct sunlight
for extended periods. Clean with a mild soap and
water solution, dry with towel. Never use alcohol
or any abrasive material (steel wool or cleaning
chemicals). Do not bend or stretch the transmitter.
This may damage the electrodes. Do not press the
button of your training computer under running
water.
Service
During the 12-month guarantee/warranty period
we recommend that you have service done by an
authorized Polar Service Center only. The warranty
does not cover damage or consequential damage
caused by service not authorized by Polar Electro.

• Polar Equine products are developed and
manufactured for the usage in equine sports.
Each product endures rigorous testing before it
leaves the factory.
• This guarantee does not affect the customer’s

laws in force, or the customer’s rights against the
dealer arising from their sales/purchase contract.
• This limited Polar international guarantee
is issued by Polar Electro Inc. for customers
who have purchased this product in the USA
or Canada. This limited Polar international
guarantee is issued by Polar Electro Oy for
customers who have purchased this product in
other countries.
• Polar Electro Oy/Polar Electro Inc. guarantees the
original customer/purchaser of this device that
the product will be free from defects in material
or workmanship for twelve (12) months from the
date of purchase.
• The receipt of the original purchase is your proof
of purchase!
• The guarantee does not cover the battery,
normal wear and tear, damage due to misuse,
abuse, accidents or non-compliance with the
precautions; improper maintenance, cracked,
broken or scratched cases/displays, modied or
altered products or their parts and electrode belt
and strap of sensors.
• The guarantee does not cover any damage/s,
losses, costs or expenses, direct, indirect or
incidental, consequential or special, arising out
of, or related to the product.
• Items purchased second hand are not covered
by warranty, unless otherwise stipulated by local
law.
• During the guarantee period, the product will
be either repaired or replaced at any of the
authorized Polar Service Centers regardless of
the country of purchase.
Guarantee with respect to any product will be
limited to countries where the product has been
initially marketed.
