Product Summary
The 1700E auto Scrubber from Polivac International automatically lays a solution on
the floor, scrubs, then collects the dirty solution in one pass, via the vacuum squeegee
at the rear of the machine.
The solution holding component, which is located in the front half of the large
polypropylene tank holds 20 litres of fluid. The recovery component, located in the
rear of the large tank also holds 20 litres of solution picked up from the vacuum
squeegee.
Pads or brushes can be used with the machine, which can be connected using the
quick release system for ease of use. Instructions for attaching this component are
listed in the operating procedure below.
The machine is powered by a 550 watt, 240 volt 4 pole motor, driving a single
reduction helical gear, completely encased in an oil filled gear box.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Ensure that the power is on, and that extension cords are not used. The metal clip
at the machine end of the power cord is to place in the operator’s pocket, rather
than placing the entire cord over the shoulder.
2. Place the brush/pad holder flat on the floor. Move the machine over the brush/pad,
placing the shaft of the motor inside the hub of the brush/pad. Make sure that the
shaft is centred in the middle of the hub.
3. Pull on either of the red triggers, and the shaft will engage the brush/pad and lock
on automatically. To release the brush/pad, tilt the machine back and give a swift
flick of the trigger. The brush/pad will automatically become disengaged.
4. Once the brush/pad is engaged and the machine trigger left on, the 1700E will
move along slowly by itself, via the Poliflow forward propulsion system.
5. To operate the vacuum, move the lever on top of the polypropylene tank to the
left. The squeegee will drop down and the vacuum will automatically start.
6. To release fluid from the solution tank, pull the solution knob on the left of the
tank upwards. This will release a valve and fluid will be deposited onto the floor.
Make sure this is pushed in when you want to decrease or stop the solution being
laid. You are now using the 1700E auto-scrubber.
7. When you are finished the job, ensure the recovery tank is emptied, via the clear
hose situated on the right of the tank. A bucket is best to use for this. Simply
unscrew the top valve and the fluid will pour out. Rinse out the recovery tank with
a hose and repeat the process to ensure machine long life.
8. If you have cleaning solution left in the front tank, simply pull up the solution
knob and position the 1700E over a gutter. Alternatively, the hose to the brush/pad
can be pulled out and the solution be poured into a bucket for next time.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
DO’S
Clear the floor of sharp objects to protect the squeegee.
Always work away from the cord.
Turn the T bar at the rear of the machine to the right if you want less
sideways movement to the right.
Walk in a straight line.
Always clean the machine after use and store in a safe dry
environment.
Walk at a comfortable walking speed when using the 1700E.
Use anti-foam in the recovery tank if foaming occurs.
Ensure the skirt is neatly around the machine when stored.
DONT’S
Don't use more than 20m extension leads, and ensure it is rated to
15amps.
Don’t store heavy items on the machine as it distorts the skirt and thus
it will not perform as efficiently.
Don’t run with the 1700E, however you CAN walk backwards.
Don't leave the brush/pad on the machine when storing the 1700E as it
could distort.
Don't overfill the solution tank.
Don't run the machine over the power cord.
