A. Introduction
Thank you for purchasing Poniie pH meter. With easy
calibration, you’re able to effortlessly measure pH levels for
accurate and dependable results. After calibration, there is no
hassle to set-up needed for future uses. Handy around the
house, this pH meter can be used to measure levels for
aquariums, beverages and swimming pools. It’s smart, safe and
simple.

B. Safety Use & Care
1) Before first use, please make an appropriate amount of storage liquid
into the sensor cover and soak the sensor completely for 2 hours.
2) Calibrate the pH meter before first use with the buffer powders
included in the packaging.
3) Avoid dropping or exposing sensor bulb with heavy impact. DO NOT
use direct tap water to clean the sensor, in case any damage.
4) DO NOT use anything other than soft tissue paper to clean the bulb.
5) Always put on the sensor cover when pH meter is not in use.

E. Setup & Calibration
1) Power ON/OFF
Short press on the button to turn on the meter, hold & press on
to turn it off.
2) Backlight &Auto OFF
Backlight is turned on by default. Short press to turn it off. Note:
Backlight will turn off automatically if there is no operation for about 1
minute. Device will turn off automatically if there is no operation in 10
minutes.
3) Data Hold function
Short press on the button and then [H] will display on the screen,
which means that PH value has been locked. Press again to unlock data.

4) Temperature unit
Hold press the button to switch unit between ℃/℉.
5) Calibration
Before first use, please use storage solution to activate electrode. Please
refer to safety use & care for more details.
(1)Two point auto-calibration
SA1:PH=6.86/ 6.86
SA2:PH=4.00/ 4.00
Automatic calibration --- automatically identify the calibration solution
in sequence of 6.86-4.00.
1) Power on pH meter, hold & press the button , the LCD will
display [CAL] and flash [SA1] at the same time.
2) Putting sensor into PH=6.86 solution (the glass bulb should be
submerged completely), short press , the ADC value (a 3 digital
number) will be displayed.
3) Wait for the ADC value to stabilize (stir gently for a few seconds)
and register this value by short pressing the again (or wait for 3
minutes to auto-calibrate this point). Remove the sensor from this
solution and clean bulb with distilled water at least 1 minute, then wipe
it gently with a soft tissue paper. 4) When the LCD flashes [SA2], put
the sensor into the PH=4.00 solution. Short press , the ADC
value will be displayed. Wait for the ADC value to stabilize and register
it by short pressing the again (or wait for 3 minutes to auto-
calibrate). When complete the calibration it will display [End]. Wait for

about 1 minute, it will exit calibration automatically. Note: If [Err]
appears, it means that the buffer solution is in wrong order or the sensor
is wrong. It is necessary to quit and recalibrate the meter again.
(2) Three point calibration
SA3: PH=9.18/ 9.18 (Note: alkaline buffer is not included, if you want
to test high alkaline solution, you may need to do three point calibration
to get more accurate result.)
Before SA3 point calibration, a two point (SA1, SA2) calibration is
required. After two point calibration, hold & press button, LCD
will display [CAL] and flash [SA1] at the same time, short press
and switch to [SA3]. With corresponding pH 9.18 buffer solution and
press the button briefly to display the ADC value. Wait for the
ADC value to stabilize, and short press again to register single
point value. The calibration will finish automatically.

G. Frequently Q & A
1) When not in use, am I supposed to keep the electrode dry or dipped
in water?
A: Please do not keep the probe dry or in water. To get the best
performance and extended meter’s life, it is best to keep it in potassium
chloride storage solution. It is the same chemical that is inside the glass
probe so an equilibrium is established. If you use just water, the
potassium chloride will eventually leach out and make the probe
unstable.
2) Can the calibration fluid be reused?
A: Yes. The 250ml calibration solution can be divided into severalparts,
one for each calibration, the remaining calibration solution should be
sealed and put in a place of 10-20 degrees Celsius and away from light,
which can be stored for 3-6 months.
3) Do you have to calibrate it before every time you use it?
A: It depends, when the product has not been used for more than 2
weeks, it should be calibrated. When the product has been used for more
than half an hour a day for a consecutive month, it also should be
calibrated again.
4) Is there any way I can use this to test soil pH?
A: Not recommend. Typically you can test soil pH by pouring water
into a pot containing the soil in question and test the water that comes
out the bottom. This method will allow you to adjust your nutrient

solution pH to exactly what your plants need, usually between 5.5 and
6.5 to avoid nutrient lock out.
Note: There may have some salt residue or liquid in the sensor cover,
this do not mean meter is not in new condition, all units will be factory
tested and calibrated before go out.
