1. Channel banks
Your SX 35 DSC_UIC Edition is designed for use with the U.S.A., Canada and
International VHF marine channel frequencies plus 10WX channels.
WX channels
To select WXchannels:
•Press the key.The WX topic appears in the display.

NOTE
WX channels are available to use only in U.S.A. and Canada channel mode. WX topic
does not appear in main menu topicsin International channel mode.
•Press the key.The WX mode screen appears in thedisplay.

•Rotate the SELECT knob, press the or keys, or directly enter the
channel number using the numeric keys on the microphone to select the desired
WX channel.
To return to the previous channel bank:
•Press the key.

To switch to other channel bank:
•Press the key. Menu topics appear in thedisplay.
•Use the SELECT knob to position the cursor on the UIC topic.
•Press the key.The UIC menuappears inthe display.

•Use the SELECT knob to select your desired channel bank.
•When your selection is complete, press the key to store the setting and
exit the menu.
2. Priority channel
Your SX 35 DSC_UIC Edition enables you to select the priority channel either Channel
16 or 09. Initial priority channel isChannel 16.
Tomake Channel09 thepriority channel:
•Press and hold the key until09 is displayed in the LCD.
Tomake Channel16 thepriority channelagain:
•Press and hold the key until16 is displayed in the LCD.
3. Manual Call
When you select INDIVIDUAL topic on DSC calling menu, your SX 35 DSC_UIC
Edition skips the Select Call menu on page 39 of OWNER’S HANDBOOK and
displays the Set Channel/Set MMSID screen for the VESSEL. Please follow
procedures for the call toa vessel, irrespective of which you call, vesselor station.
If the call is to a coast station, your SX 35 DSC_UIC Edition will detect “00” as the
first two characters of the MMSI and ignores a selected working channel because
it will be determined by the coast station.
