To begin charging without a Card Phone or Serial Cable,

CHARGING
CHARGING Attach charger to PM70 and connect to wall socket.
Power on the PM70 by pressing ¸ for 3 seconds.
PM70 does not charge when switched off.
Always use an original Possio charger!
An empty battery must be charged for at least 3
hours before first use. A fully charged battery allows
for 15–21 hours usage (depending on whether a
Connectivity Card is attached or not).
Power Modes: when Travel Mode is activated a
card or serial cable must be attached in order to
start charging the machine. This can be bypassed
by a RESET (see below). When Vehicle Mode is
activated the PM70 automatically powers up to start
charging when a charger is attached. Read more
about Power Modes under SETTINGS.
POWER
ON Press ¸ for 3 seconds.
Power Modes: when Travel Mode is activated a
card or serial cable must be attached in order to
start the machine. This can be bypassed by a RESET
(see below). When Vehicle Mode is activated the
PM70 automatically powers up when a charger is
attached. Read more about Power Modes under
SETTINGS.
OFF Press ˜ for 3 seconds.
To save battery PM70 is automatically switched off
after a defined time, POWER-DOWN. The time
between last action and power-down might be
set. See more under SETTINGS. If connected to a
charger the PM70 does not enter power-down.
RESET Press ò ÷ î simultaneously to reset the
machine. The settings will be saved and the PM70
will turn on after the reset. Resetting cancels all PM70
activities.

SENDING
SCAN Insert paper with both hands into the paper slot.
When you use the PM70 for the first time press
the paper firmly into the slot. After one second the
paper will be fed through the scanner.
DIAL Dial the fax number and press ¸.
For international numbers press Í before the
faxnumber, excluding the 0 in the local area code.
QUICK-DIAL Use fax numbers stored on SIM-card by pressing
position number followed by ¸, ex. 14 ¸.
You can print stored numbers.
See more under FUNCTIONS.
LAST CALL The last used fax number is dialed by
pressing 0 ¸ (if a document is in memory).
STATUS When ¹ is lit the PM70 is communicating. The call
may be interrupted by pressing ˜.
RECEIPT A receipt is printed after sending. See more under
RECEIPTS.
CONNECTION
CONNECTIVITY CARD Insert Connectivity Card (accessory).
If PIN? is printed, enter your code (4-6 digits)
followed by ¸. After three mistakes the SIM-card
will be locked and PM70 will display PUK? The
SIM-card now has to be unlocked with the PUK
code.
SERIAL CABLE Insert serial cable (accessory) into the PM70 and
attach a telephone.For more instructions on how to
use the serial cable please refer to the instruction
that accompanies the cable. For a list of compatible
telephones please refer to www.possio.com.

RECEIVING
RECEIVE Incoming faxes are automatically printed if PM70 is
switched on.
STATUS When ¹ is lit the PM70 is communicating.
FAX BOX Some GSM networks have a fax box function for
storing faxes when you are out of reach. Please
contact your operator on how your faxbox works.
POLLING Fax polling is possible. See more under
FUNCTIONS.
TELEPHONE
MAKING A PHONE CALL
DIAL Dial the phone number, press ¸ and lift the
handset. For international numbers press Í before
the phone number, excluding the 0 in the local area
code.
In order to make phone calls the document memory
must first be erased. See more under FUNCTIONS.
Finish the call by pressing ˜.
ID Called number is printed for reference.
QUICK-DIAL Use phone numbers stored on SIM card by pressing
position number followed by ¸,
ex. 14 ¸.
You can print stored numbers. See more under
FUNCTIONS.
LAST CALL The last used number is dialled by pressing 0 ¸
(if no document is in memory).

ANSWER A PHONE CALL

Prints names and phone numbers stored on SIM-
card.
SETTINGS Ì 9 ¸
Prints current settings.
REPORTS Ì 10 ¸
Prints an event log with diagnostic reports and
initialization history.
RECEIPT Ì 11 ¸
Prints information on last transmission / reception.

Set the scanner resolution. Standard resolution is default.
POWER-DOWN Ì 52 Ì minutes min 1 max 999 ¸
Sets power-down time after last action. 600 minutes is default.
Power-down is disabled if the machine is attached to a charger.
VOLUME Ì 53 Ì 0 (silent), 1 (low), 2, 3 or 4 (high) ¸
Set the volume of beeper. 3 is default. 0 is silence.
USER ID Ì 54 Ì faxnumber ex. +4658744010 ¸
Set the user ID visible on documents. No number is default.
DATE Ì 55 Ì date ex. 20021201 ¸
Set the date visible on documents. Default is 70-01-01. The
format must be year 4 digits (2002), month 2 digits (12), day 2
digits (01).
TIME Ì 56 Ì time (hour-minutes) ex. 1302 ¸
Set the time visible on documents. Default is 00:00. 24 hour
clock format is used, hour 2 digits (13), minutes 2 digits (02).

Time before diversion, only applicable for condition 2 above.

Selected network equals the digit you received from SHOW
NETWORK above. The digit 0 activates automatic roaming (the
PM70 makes an automatic choice of operator.)
EDIT WITH SMS
The settings and phone book entries might be set by sending an SMS to the PM70. This SMS must
begin with a special line and string. The format for this SMS and a template can be found through
the Possio site for information handling on the Internet, www.possio.net.
SAVE SETTINGS Ì 20 ¸
Saves the special settings-SMS after it has been received.
SAVE PHONE BOOK Ì 21 ¸
Saves the special phonebook-SMS after it has been received.
POWER MODES Ì 57 Ì mode ¸
Modes: 0 = deactivates travel mode and vehicle mode;
1 = activates travel mode only;
2 = activates vehicle mode only;
3 = activates both travel mode and vehicle mode
TRAVEL MODE (default) – a card or serial cable must be
attached in order to activate the PM70.
VEHICLE MODE (default) – the PM70 automatically powers up
when a charger is attached.
INCOMING CALL ID Ì 58 Ì 0 (off) or 1 (on) ¸
Activate or deactivate the display of the incoming voice calls
number. Activated by default.
CALL DURATION Ì 59 Ì 0 (off) or 1 (on) ¸
Activate or deactivate printing the duration of voice calls.
Activated by default.

AVANT UTILISATION
Pour effectuer un chargement sans Carte de Connexion ni Câble
de Série, appuyez simultanément sur les touches ò ÷ î pour
redémarrer la machine après son branchement sur le chargeur.
