Folding the Electric Bikes
Withthefrontwheelpointingstraightahead,fullyundothe
largeblackwingnutatthebaseofthestemandfoldthe
handlebarsdown.
Holdthebicycleuprightandraisethekickstand.
Releasethequickreleaselevertotheclampinthemiddle
oftheframeandswingtheleverandboltsideways;then,if
youlifttheleversothespring‐loadedboltreleasesthe
hinge,youcanfoldthefronthalfofthebicycleroundto
meettherear.
Ifyouwishtoreducewidthevenfurther,foldthepedalsby
squeezingtheblackpanelinthemiddleoutwardsagainst
theendofthepedalandhingingthepedaldownwards.
Re‐assemblingistheoppositeoffolding,butbecarefulthat
thequickreleaseleverandbolttotheframehingedoesn’t
swingaroundtopointbackwardswhenbringingthehinge
together,otherwisetheboltmaybetrappedpointingthe
wrongwayandpreventcompletionoftheclamping
operation.
Alwaysensureboththewingnuttothestemhingeand
quickreleaselevertotheframehingeareclampedtight
beforeattemptingtoridethebike.

Beforeuse,readthroughthismanual,andensurethatanyridersarefamiliar
withthecontentherein.
Alwaysobeytrafficrules.
Donotcarryapassenger.
Whenadjustingthesaddle,keepadjustmentwithinthemaxsafetylineonthe
seatpost.
Pleasenotethatthetighteningtorqueofsaddle’sgripnutandpost’sclamping
boltis18Nm.
Whenadjustingthehandlebar,donotsethandlebarabovethesafety
line/markeronthehandlebarstem.
Pleasenotethatthetighteningtorqueofscrewrodforthestemhandlebar
clampboltis18Nm.
Regularcheckingofthebrakepadsisnecessarytoensuretopperformance.
Thetorqueofbothfrontandrearhubnuts,aresetto18Nmand30Nm
respectively.
OperationGuideandPrecautions
ElectricCycling
•Insertthebatteryboxintothebicycleframe.
•Insertthekeyintheboxlock,turnthekeyinthebatterycaselock180degreesclockwise,andalwaysremovethekey
afterlocking.
•Topoweron,turntheignitionkeyclockwise,notingtheredindicatorlightonthebatteryboxandthestatuslightson
thethrottle.Theadditionalgreenstatuslightshowswhenthefullcapacityisavailablewiththelightsextinguishing
aspowerdecreases.
•AssistedPowermodeisengagedwhenevertheignitionisturnedon.
•Userscanalsousethecycleinthrottlemodealone.Tousethethrottleturntheswitchonthelefthandlebartothe
onposition.
•Whenmanoeuvringthebikeitisgoodpracticetodeactivatethethrottle.

Thepowerconsumptionshouldbejudgedbythedisplaystatusoftheindicatorwhilerunningatfullspeed.
•Theridingdistancesafterachargewillvaryduetosuchfactorsasroadsituation,load,andwinddirection.
•Whenridinguphillsorstartingfromjunctionsorridingupwind,itisrecommendedthatpedalsareusedtoavoiddraining
thebatteryofpower.
•Bypedallingriderswillincreasetheirridingdistance,andultimatelyconservethemotorandbattery.
•Afteruse,turnoffthebatterykeyswitch(turnthekeyanticlockwise),andremovethekey.

Cyclingwithoutpowersupport
•Theignitionswitchmustbeturnedoffinordertoenableriderstousetheelectricbicycleinthesamewayasanordinary
bicycle.
Charging
•ThebatteryforthiselectricbicyclemustbechargedbyitsownspecificPumaorLynxLPXcharger.Thecharger’ssupply
voltagemustmatchthelocalvoltage.
•Chargingneedstobecarriedoutinadrycoolenvironment.
•Donotchargeinareaswherethereisariskofexposuretowater,orinareasthatcanbecomeexposedtodirectsunlight.
•Thebatterycanbechargedonoroffthebicycle.
•Whentheredindicatoronthechargerturnsgreen,itmeansthatthebatteryisfullycharged.Accordingtopower
consumption,thechargingcanbecompletedwithin2‐10hours.
•Duringcharging,thechargerandthebatteryboxshouldbelocatedinastablepositiononitssidetopreventittoppling
over.Donotcoverthechargerorbatteryboxwhileinuse.
•Duringcharging,ifthebatterypackoverheats,itindicatesthatthereisfaultwiththebatterypackorcharger.Inthis
case,cutoffthepowersupplyimmediatelyandreturnittoyourvendor’safter‐sales‐servicecentreforrepair.
DirectionsforusingtheBatteryPack
•Onthefirsttimeofuse,thebatterywillneedalongerchargeof8‐10hours.
•Inordertoachievethefullrangefromthebattery,newbatteriesmustbeconditioned.Todothisfullycharge
anddischargethebattery8‐10times.
•OnlyusethededicatedLi‐PolymerbatterychargerforPumaLPXorLynxLPX.
•Whenthepowerisexhausted,thepackshouldn’tbestoredformorethan48hours,butchargedassoonasconvenient.
•Forlonglife,thepackshouldberemovedfromthebicycle,fullycharged,andstoredinashady,coolanddryplace.
•Donotuseorstorethepacknearheatsourcessuchasanelectricfireorheatsource.
•Donotattempttodirectlyconnectthebatterypacktoamainssupplyoutlet.
•Donotallowthebatterypacktobeimmersedinwater
•Neverputthebatteryinfire,evenatendoflife.
•Donotshortthebatterybyconnectingtheelectrodesviametalorwater.
•Takecaretoavoidimpacttothebatterypack.
•Donotusesharptoolsthatcouldpiercethebatterypack.
•Donotdroporshakethebatterypackviolently.
•Keepthebatteryawayfromhightemperatures(indirectsunlightoraheatedcar);overheatingthebatterywillcausea
malfunctionandshortenthebatterylife.
•Donotusethebatterypackinstrongelectrostaticorandmagneticfield,otherwise,thesafetyprotectiondevicecouldbe
damaged,resultinginsafetyproblems.
•Iftheelectrolytegetsintotheeyeswhenleakageofthebatteryhappens,don’trub,washtheeyeswithcleanwaterand
consultamedicaldoctorimmediately.
•Pleaseremovethepackfromthedeviceorcharger,ifitsmellsstrange,orgivesoutheat,orbecomesdiscoloredand
distorted,orthereisanyabnormalityduringusage,storageandcharging.Switchoffbeforedoingso.
•Wipethedirtoffthecharginginterfaceofthepackwithdryclothbeforeusage;otherwiseitwillcausepoorcontactand
malfunction.
•Donottrytouseelectricpowerwhenthebatteryisexhausted.Switchoffthepowerfirstandrideitasan
ordinarybicycle.
•Pleasekeepthebatterypackandchargeroutofthereachofchildren.
Warning:Keepawayfromexplosivegas,flameorsparkduringcharging.

Maintenance
•Beforeusing,pleasecheckthatthebatteryboxislockedinplace,theredbatteryindicatorlightisonwhen
youoperatethekeyswitch,andthethrottlelightdoesnotindicateempty.
•Ensurethecleannessofthebicyclebodyandthebatterycontacts.Immediatelyremovethedirttoavoidthedeclinein
theefficiencyordamagetotheelectricalparts.
•Frequentlychecktyrepressuresarecorrectagainstthefiguresmarkedonthesideofthetyrewall.Under‐inflationof
tyreswillreducetheridingdistanceachieved,andinworstcase,thetyrewillbedamagedbyeitheroveror
under‐inflation.
•Aswithordinarybicyclesessentialmechanicalandsafetychecksarerequired.
•Donotusethebikeinwaterdepthswherewatercanreachthelowestpartofwheelhuborbattery.Otherwise,electrical
damagecanoccurduetowateringress.
•Keepthebicycleawayfrommoist,hightemperaturesandgas‐acridenvironments,toavoidthechemicalcorrosionon
theelectroplatedcoatingsurfacesofthemetalparts.
•Avoidlongexposuretodirectsunlightordrenchingwithwater,topreventdamageormalfunctioningofparts.
•Itisnormalfortheelectricbicycletofeelheavierduringreversemaneuvering,andthewheelhubcanmakeafriction
soundduringforwardmovement.
•Donotoverloadtoavoiddamagetothebatteryormotor.
•Lubricationisanimportantiteminthemaintenanceoftheelectricalbicycle.Accordingtotheusage,scrubandlubricate
therotationalpartssuchasthefront,backandmiddle
axles,flywheelandfrontforkevery6months.Speciallubricatingoilhasbeensmearedontheridingcomponentsinside
electricalwheelhub,soitisunnecessarytoperformthislubricationyourself.Gotoourauthorisedservice/maintenance
centres,ifyouidentifyanyabnormalfunctioningoraserviceneed.

Adjustingmethodforbrakingsystem
Examinethebrakingsystemfrequentlytoensureitsreliability.
Adjustingcanbeperformedasfollows:
‐Checkthatthebrakeleversmakecontactwhenitsmovement
reaches1/2X(seeillustrationbelow).
‐Loosenthescrewonthebrakingcableseatthentighten
orloosenthebrakingcable,enablingtheaveragemovement
betweeneachofthetwobrakeblocksandtherimsof
approximately1.5‐2mm.

Anyremedyoutlinedbelowmustbecarriedoutbyacompetentpersonawareofthesafetyissuesandsufficientlyfamiliar
withelectricalmaintenance.PowaCyclereservestherighttowithoutfurthernotice,makemodificationstotheproduct.

TroubleDescriptionCausesTroubleshootingMethods
Aftertheswitchhasbeenturnedon,the
powerindicatordoesnotcomeonandthe
bicyclecannotstart.
•Poorcontactbetweentheelectrodesof
thebatteryorconnectingplug.
•Checkifthereisanydirtontheelectrodes
ofthebatteryunitorplug,andcleanthe
contacts.
Aftertheswitchhasbeenturnedon.The
powerindicatorison,butthebicyclewill
notstart.
•Checkforpoorcontactwithbattery.
•Checkiftheplugisproperlyinserted.
•Presstheunitstightlytogethertoensure
thatcontactpointsareinplace.
Themotorstartsandcontinuesrunning
aftertheswitchison.(Note:immediately
turnofftheswitchtopreventanaccident.)
•Thethrottlehasnotreset.
•Thecontrollerisdamaged.
•Checkwhetherthethrottleisjammed.
Ifyes,freeit.
•Returnthecontroltoourcompany’s
authorisedservicecentresforrepairor
replacement.
Lowspeed,andtheridingdistanceafter
chargeisshort.
•Thetyresarenotinflatedsufficiently.
•Frequentstop/start.Climbinghillsor
ridingagainstaheadwind.
•Batterycapacityisindecline.
•Inflatethetyres.
•Pedalmorewhenstartingorclimbing.
•Replacetheoldbatterywithanewone.
Thepowerindicatorisnotonafterthe
chargerisconnectedtoapowersupply

OptimisingBatteryLife
PumaLPXandLynxLPXarepoweredbyLithiumPolymerbatteries.Theseareastableandsafebatterytechnology.They
havetheadvantageinthattheywilltolerateshallowcharging.UnlikeNiMHorNiCadbatteriesthereisnopermanent
powerlossintheeventofregularshallowcharging.
Forlongerperiodsofbatterystorage,acoolorcoldtemperatureisbetterforprolongingtheLi‐Polbatterylife.Avoid
keepingthebatteryatfullchargeandhightemperature(25degreesC.plus)forextendedperiods.
Wheninstoragethebatteryprefersapartialchargeideally40%ratherthanafullcharge.Ifstoringthebatteryforafew
months,itisbestnottokeep“toppingupthebattery”,howeverthebatteryshouldnotbestoredinafullydischarged
stateeither.Frequentfulldischargesshouldbeavoidedwhenpossible,andthebatteryrechargedASAP,butideallyno
longerthan48hoursafterafulldischarge.
