1.Safetyand EMCinstructions
Pleaseread carefullythe following usermanualand the
safetyinstructionsbeforeinstalling the unit orusing the unit!
1.1Installation
Condensationmayoccurifthe UPS ismoved directlyfromacold
toawarmenvironment. The UPS mustbeabsolutelydrybefore
beinginstalled. Pleaseallowan acclimatization timeofat least two
hours.
Donot install the UPS nearwaterorindampenvironment.
Donot install theUPS whereit wouldbeexposed todirect sunlight
ornearheat.
Donot block ventilation openingsinthe UPS shousing.
Donotconnectappliancesoritemsofequipmentwhichwould
overload the UPS (e.g. laserprinters, etc)tothe UPS output.
Placecablesinsuchawaythatno onecanstepon ortripover
them.
UPS hasprovided earthedterminal,inthe finalinstalled system
configuration,equipotentialearthbondingtotheexternalUPS
batterycabinets.
Anintegralsingleemergencyswitchingdevicewhichprevents
furthersupplytotheloadbythe UPSinanymode ofoperation
shouldbeprovided inthe buildingwiringinstallation.
Anappropriatedisconnectdeviceasshort-circuitbackup
protection shouldbeprovided inthe buildingwiringinstallation.

Forthree-phaseequipmentconnectiontoanITpowersystem,a
four-poledevicewhichdisconnectall phaseconductorsand the
neutralconductorshouldbeprovided inthebuildingwiring
installation.
Thisispermanentlyconnectedequipment,itmustbeinstalled by
qualified maintenancepersonnel.
Earthconnectionessentialbeforeconnectingtothe buildingwiring
terminal.
1.2Operation
Donotdisconnectthe earthconductorcableon the UPS orthe
buildingwiringterminalsinanytimesincethiswouldcancelthe
protectiveearthingofthe UPS systemand ofall connected loads.
The UPS outputterminalblock maybeelectricallylived even if the
UPS systemisnot connected tothe buildingwiringterminal.
Inordertofullydisconnectthe UPS,firstpressthe OFF button,
then disconnect the mainslead.
Ensurethat no liquidorotherforeignobjectscan enterthe UPS.
The UPS canbeoperated byanyindividualswithno previous
experience.
1.3Maintenance, servicingandfaults
The UPS operateswithhazardousvoltages.Repairsmaybe
carried out onlybyqualified maintenancepersonnel.
Caution -risk of electricshock.Even aftertheunitisdisconnected
fromthe mainspowersupply(buildingwiringterminal),
componentsinsidetheUPS arestill connectedtothebattery
whicharepotentiallydangerous.

Beforecarryingout anykindofserviceand/ormaintenance,please
disconnectthebatteries.Verifythatnocurrentispresentandno
hazardousvoltageexistsinthecapacitororBUScapacitor
terminals.
Batteriesmust bereplaced onlybyqualified personnel.
Caution -risk ofelectricshock.The batterycircuitisnotisolated
fromthe inputvoltage.Hazardousvoltagesmayoccurbetween
the batteryterminalsand theground.Verifythatno voltageis
present beforeservicing!
Batterieshaveahighshort-circuit current and posearisk of shock.
Takeall precautionarymeasuresspecified belowand anyother
measuresnecessarywhen workingwithbatteries:
-removeall jewellery,wristwatches,ringsand othermetal
objects
-useonlytoolswithinsulated gripsand handles.
When changingbatteries,replacewiththe samequantityandthe
sametypeofbatteries.
Donotattempttodisposeofbatteriesbyburningthem.It could
causeexplosion.
Donotopen ordestroybatteries.Effluentelectrolytecan cause
injurytothe skinand eyes. It maybetoxic.
Pleasereplacethe fuseonlybyafuseof the sametypeand of the
sameamperageinordertoavoidfirehazards.
DonotdismantletheUPS,exceptthequalified maintenance
personnel.
1.4Transport
PleasetransporttheUPS onlyintheoriginalpackaging(toprotect
against shock and impact).

3.1Systemandmodel description
ThisOnline Seriesisan uninterruptiblepowersupplyincorporating
double-conversion technology.It providesperfectprotection
specificallyforcomputerequipment, communication systemsto
computerized instruments.
Itstrue online double-conversion designeliminatesall mainspower
disturbances.Arectifierconvertsthe alternatingcurrentfromthe
utilitypowertodirectcurrent. Thisdirectcurrentchargesthe
batteriesand powersthe inverter.Onthe basisofthisDC voltage,
the invertergeneratesapuresinusoidalACvoltage,whichis
constantlypoweringthe loads.
Computersand Peripheralsarethuspowered entirelybythe UPS.In
the eventof powerfailure,the maintenance-free batteriespowerthe
inverter.

5. Installation
5.1UnpackingandInspection
1)Unpack thepackagingandcheckthepackagecontents.The
shippingpackagecontains:
●AUPS
●Ausermanual
●Acommunication cable
●Abatterycable(for6K-XL/10K-XL/3C 10K-XL only)
2)Inspectthe appearanceof theUPS tosee if thereisanydamage
duringtransportation.Donot turnon theunitandnotifythe carrier
and dealerimmediatelyifthereisanydamageorlackingofsome
parts.
5.2Inputandoutputpowercordsandprotectiveearth
groundinstallation
1. Notes forinstallation
1)The UPS mustbeinstalled inalocation withgood ventilation,
farawayfromwater, inflammablegasand corrosiveagents.
2)Ensurethe airventson the frontand rearofthe UPS arenot
blocked.Allowat least 0.5mofspaceon eachside.
3)CondensationtowaterdropsmayoccuriftheUPSisunpacked
inaverylowtemperatureenvironment. Inthiscaseitis
necessarytowaituntil theUPSisfullydriedinsideoutbefore
proceedinginstallation and use.Otherwisetherearehazardsof
electricshock.

electriciansinaccordancewithapplicablesafetyregulations!

2. Installation
Installation and wiringmust beperformed inaccordancewiththe local
electriccode and the followinginstructionsbyprofessionalpersonnel.
Forsafety,pleasecutoffthe mainspowerswitchbeforeinstallation.
The batterybreakeralsoneedstobecut off if itisalongbackuptime
model(“XL”model).
1)Open the terminalblock coverlocated on the rearpanelof the
UPS, pleaserefertothe appearancediagram.
2)ForUPS,itisrecommended toselecttheUL1015
10AWG(6mm2)wireorotherinsulated wirewhichcomplies
withAWG Standardforthe UPS input and output wirings.
3)ForUPS,itisrecommended to
selectthe UL1015 8AWG(
10mm2)
wireorotherinsulated
wirewhich complieswithAWGStandardforthe UPS input
and output wirings.
4)ForUPS
,itisrecommended
toselect
the UL1015
6AWG(25mm2)
wire
or
other
insulated wire
which comlies
with
AWG
Standardforthe UPS inputand
output wirings.
Note: Donotusethe wall receptacleasthe inputpowersourcefor
the UPS,asitsrated currentisless than the UPS smaximum
inputcurrent. Otherwisethe receptaclemaybeburned and
destroyed.
5)Connecttheinputandoutputwirestothecorrespondinginput
and output terminalsaccordingtothe followingdiagram.
Note: you mustmakesurethatthe inputandoutputwiresand the
input and output terminalsareconnected tightly.
6)The protectiveearthground wirereferstothe wireconnection
between theequipmentwhichconsumeselectricequipment
and the groundwire.The wirediameterofprotectiveearth
ground wireshouldbeatleastasabovementioned foreach
modeland green wireorgreen wirewithyellowribbon wireis
used.

7)Afterhavingcompleted the installation, makesurethewiringis
correct.
8)Pleaseinstall the outputbreakerbetween theoutputterminal
and the load,and the breakershouldwithleakagecurrent
protectivefunction ifnecessary.
9)Toconnectthe loadwiththe UPS,pleaseturnoffall the loads
first, then performthe connection and finallyturnonthe loads
one byone.
10)Nomatterthe UPS isconnected tothe utilitypowerornot, the
outputoftheUPS mayhaveelectricity.Thepartsinside the
unit maystill havehazardousvoltageafterturningoff the UPS.
Tomakethe UPShavenooutput, poweroffthe UPS,andthen
disconnect the utilitypowersupply.
11)Suggestchargingthe batteriesfor8hoursbeforeuse.After
connection,turnthe inputbreakerinthe “ON”position,the
UPS willchargethe batteriesautomatically.You canalsouse
the UPS immediatelywithoutchargingthe batteriesfirst, but
the backuptimemaybeless than the standardvalue.
12)Ifitisnecessarytoconnecttheinductanceload suchasa
monitororalaserprintertothe UPS,the start-uppowershould
beused forcalculatingthecapacityof theUPS,asitsstart-up
powerconsumption istoo bigwhen it isstarted.
Importantnotes: Ifthe UPS isused insinglemode,JPIandJP2
must beconnectedby10AWG(6mm2).If the UPS isused inparallel
mode, JP1and JP2must bedisconnected.

1.ThenominalDC voltageofexternalbatterypack is240VDC.Each
batterypack consistsof20 piecesof12Vmaintenancefree
batteriesinseries. Toachievelongerbackuptime,itispossibleto
connectmulti-batterypacks,butthe principleof “samevoltage,
sametype”shouldbestrictlyfollowed.
2.Fortheconnectoroftheexte

connect
with
the

reofinstallingbattery bankshouldbecomplied withstrictly.
Otherwiseyoumay encounterthe hazardousofelectricshock.
1)ADC breakermustbeconnected between thebatterypack
and theUPS.Thecapacityofbreakermustbenotless than
the dataspecified inthe generalspecification.
2)Setthe batterypack breakerin “OFF”position and connect
the 20 piecesofbatteriesinseries.
3)Youmustconnecttheexternalbatterycabletothe battery
first, ifyou connectthe cabletotheUPS first, you may
encounterthehazardousof electricshock.Thepositivepole
ofthe
battery
is
connected
to
the
6KT-XL
UPS withred wire,
and the UPS inparallelwithblue and br
ownwires;
the negativepoleofthe batteryisconnected tothe
6K-XLUPS
with
black wire,and theUPS
inparallelwith black and whitewires;the green andyellow
ribbonwireis connected tothe ground ofthe batterycabinet.
