making sure that its functioning will NOT cause accidental damages. Never put
things on top of the Lid.
9. DO NOT use or store the device outdoors. Store and use the device only
indoors, or in any case, protected from weathering such as rain, direct radiation
of the sun and dust.
Operation
10. If you are using the device for the first time, you should:
a. Separate the Lid, Reservoir and Pitcher, wash them with water & detergent
using a non-abrasive sponge and rinse them under running water. DO NOT
use metal scouring pads. Reassemble the device by first inserting the
Reservoir into the Pitcher.
b. Soak an unused Filter Cartridge upright in a clean bowl containing clean, cold
or room-temperature water for 10 minutes. Rinse the Filter Cartridge under
running water for 10 seconds and insert the Filter Cartridge into the Reservoir.
Attach the Lid onto the Reservoir. Pour cold water or room-temperature tap
water into the Reservoir through the hole in the Lid by lifting up the tab next
to the Filter Life Indicator. Discard the water and repeat. The third pitcher of
water is safe for drinking.
c. Place and use the device on a horizontal, stable and non-slip surface.
Damage may occur if the device is placed on an incline or decline.
d. Set the Month & Date one month in advance of the Filter Cartridge being
replaced, according to MM:DD format.
e. Make sure to remove any label or protective sheet which may prevent its
proper functioning.
DO NOT:
overfill the Pitcher with water;
use without the Filter Cartridge being locked in place;
use the device to filter water of unknown quality or that has been
microbiologically impaired. This device must be used to filter tap water only;
allow warm, hot or boiling water to come into contact with any part of the
device, whether for filtering, cleaning or rinsing – use only cold or room
temperature water only;
place the device (or any part of the device) in the oven, microwave oven or
freezer for heating or cooling, so as to avoid breaking or damaging it;
use warm, hot or boiling water for cleaning;
place any part of this device in a dishwasher for cleaning;
apply concentrated cleaning agents such as heavy oxidants, bleach,
chlorinated solvents, or the like to any part of this device.
11. If official instructions have been issued to boil tap water before consuming it, or if
the intended users are persons with weak immune systems, such as babies or
