First time use of your Toucan
Before use
The Toucan Solar MP4 player can be charged with the intregrated solarpanel.Putthe Toucan with the
solar panel above in sunlight or artificial light and the built-in rechargeable Lithium battery will be charged.
The green indication LED will be on during charging.
The battery can also be charged with the included 220V AC charger.
With the included USB-cable you can download music, video and photofiles in the supported formats1
from your computer.Turn on the Toucan and connect the Toucan with the included USB-cable with your
computer. The computer recognizesthe Toucan as an external diskand through the navigating function
you can copyfilesto and from yourMP4 player. When you are using Windows98 as operting system it
could be possible that after connecting the computer doesnot recognize the Toucan automatically.
You can use driver which isavailable on the CD-ROM which isincluded. Wit the function ‘New Hardware’
from your Windows98 operating system you can search for new hardware (the by USB connected
Toucan). You can then select the driver on the CD-ROM to install.
After you have downloaded supported fileson yourToucan, you can watch orlisten these files on your
MP4 player.
Using the Toucan
1. Switch the on/off switch at the top of the Toucan to the ‘on’ position.
Push the ‘play’ button for about 3 secondsand the display will turn on. After the short start up display
the following display will apear.

Thisisthe main menu of yourMP4-player. With the left and right button you can skip through the 9
functionsyou can choose. With the enter button you can select the function.

1. Music
The Toucan support the following musicfile formats:
MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, ASF, WAS, OGG
By choosing thisoption the Music function of yourToucan will open. You will see a similar display as
below:

Functions of buttons at music menu / videomenu
With thisbutton you can repeat a part of the file. Push one time to start
the selection (display showsA) and presssecond time to end the
selection (displayshowsB). The selection will continued be repeated.
Press again to delete the selection and the file will continue playing.
Press shortly: list of files
Press long: return to main menu Toucan
Music/video file back and forward
Volume higher/lower
Pauze / Play
2. Video
The Toucan supportsthe following video file formats:
AVI, RM, MPG, VOB, DAT, RMVB
Select the video image.
Select inside memory (internal memory) or mini SDmemory
(when ).

Na circa vijfseconden verwijderd de informatiedisplayen kunt u genieten van een volledig scherm.
Om terug te keren naar het informatiescherm, drukt u op de pauze/playbutton, zodat de video op pauze
komt te staan. Door nogmaalsop deze button te drukken start de video weerop het punt waarop deze op
pauze isgekomen en verwijderd de informatiedisplay weer na circa 5 seconden.
Het volume kunt u aanpassen met de volumetoetsen (bovenste = harder, onderste = zachter).
Door de kies/enter toetsingedrukt te houden kunt u weer in het hoofdmenu terug komen.
3. FM Radio
Kieshet FM radio icoontje in het hoofdmenu U beschikt nu over de FM radio functie
U kunt de volgende optieskiezen:
Manual handmatig zenderszoeken
Auto automatisch zenderszoeken
Memo zendersvastleggen
Preset schakelen tussen de vooraf vastgelegde zenders
Delet vastgelegde zendersverwijderen

4. Foto
De Toucan ondersteund grafische bestanden in JPG-formaat
Kieshet foto icoontje in het hoofdmenu
Kies voor het interne geheugen of de mini SD-kaart
(indien geplaatst in het SD-slot).
Kiesde map waaru uwfoto’shebt opgeslagen (bijv. photo)
Kies het bestand dat u wilt bekijken.
Door de kies/enter toetsingedrukt te houden kunt u weer in het hoofdmenu terug komen.
5. Text
De Toucan ondersteund tekstbestanden in TXT-formaat.
Kieshet tekst icoontje in hethoofdmenu
Kies voor het interne geheugen of de mini SD-kaart
(indien geplaatst in het SD-slot).

Kiesde map waaru uwteksten hebt opgeslagen (bijv. e-book)
Kiesvervolgens het bestand dat u wilt bekijken.
6. Recorder
Kieshet recordericoontje in het hoofdmenu
Kiesde play/speel button om het opnemen te starten.
7. Verkenner
Kieshet verkennericoontje in het hoofdmenu
Kiesvoor het interne geheugen of de mini SD-kaart
(indien geplaatst in het SD-slot).
Vervolgenskunt u de mappen kiezen die u wilt verkennen en kunt u
bestanden zoeken

Kies het spel-icoontje in het hoofdmenu
Vervolgens kunt u met de Toucan het spelletje Tetrisspelen
9. Instellingen
Kieshet icoontje instellingen in het hoofdmenu
Het instellingen menu kent de volgensopties:
Muziek
Herhalingsfunctie U kunt diverse herhalingsoptie kiezen
Afspeelmogelijkheden Hierbij kunt u op volgorde van bestanden kiezen of door elkaar
Equalizerinstelling U kunt kiezen voor de volgende instellingen
Normaal, 3D, Rock, Pop, Classic, Bass, Jazz, eigen instelling
Eigen instelling equalizer

U kunt hierbij kiezen uit Stereo aan/uit en de FM regio selecteren; hierbij heeftu de keuze uit China,
Europa, Japan en USA.
Recorder
Opnamekwaliteit Keuze uit hoge kwaliteit en normale kwaliteit
Opnamevolume Keuze uit 5 volumeniveau’s
Display
Tijd achtergrondverlichting Keuze uit 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 seconden en altijd aan
