This Compact Food Processor with six different blades for slicing, chopping, grating and
dicing is the perfect kitchen helper and makes quick work of prepping all your favourite
recipes.

SAFETY CAUTIONS
Carefully read all the instructions before using the appliance and keep in a safe place
for future reference. Always follow these safety cautions when using the appliance to
avoid personal injury or damage to the appliance. This appliance should be used only as
described in this instruction book.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental
capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user
maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older
than 8 and supervised.
• Make sure your electricity supply matches the voltage shown on the appliance.
• Ensure all packaging materials and any promotional labels or stickers are removed from
the appliance before the first use.
• Always inspect the appliance before use for noticeable signs of damage. Do not use if
damaged or has been dropped. In the event of damage, or if the appliance develops a
fault contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Do not use this appliance if the lead is damaged. If the lead is damaged it must be
replaced. Contact the Lakeland customer care team on 015394 88100.
• Always use the appliance on a dry, level, heat resistant surface.
• Unplug from the mains when not in use and before cleaning. To disconnect, turn the
socket to “off“ and remove the plug from the mains socket.
• Do not use any accessories or attachments with this appliance other than those
recommended by Lakeland.
• To protect against fire, electric shock or personal injury, do not immerse cord, plug or
lid in water or other liquids.
• Do not leave the lead hanging over the edge of a kitchen table or worktop. Avoid
contact between the lead and hot surfaces.
• For indoor use only.
• For domestic use only.
• This appliance should be used for preparation of food as described within the
instructions for use that accompany it.
• Always ensure that your hands are dry before removing the plug from the mains
socket. Never pull the plug out of the mains socket by its lead.
• To avoid injury or possible fire, do not cover the appliance when in use.
• Do not connect this appliance to an external timer or remote control system.

• An extension cable may be used with care. The electrical rating of the cable should be
at least as great as the appliance. Do not allow the cable to hang over the edge of the
worktop or touch any hot surfaces.
• This appliance complies with the basic requirements of Directives 2014/30/EU
(Electromagnetic Compatibility) and 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage Directive).
• WARNING: A cut off plug inserted into a 13 amp socket is a serious safety (shock)
hazard. Ensure the cut off plug is disposed of safely.
• CAUTION: The plastic bags used to wrap this appliance or the packaging may be
dangerous. To avoid risk of suffocation, keep these bags out of reach of babies
and children. These bags are not toys.
• Only use the pusher to push food through the appliance. NEVER use your fingers or
hands to push ingredients into the feeding tube. Ensure that hands, hair, jewellery and
clothing are kept away from rotating and moving parts.
• CAUTION: The blades are very sharp. Take care when handling and changing blades
and during cleaning.
• Always make sure the appliance is switched off and unplugged when inserting or
removing the blade holder, lid and feeding tube. Make sure the bowl with wide chute
and lid are securely locked in place before plugging in and switching on.
• DO NOT leave the Compact Food Processor unattended whilst in use.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 2 minutes. Allow the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.

USING THE COMPACT FOOD PROCESSOR
FOR THE FIRST TIME
• Unpack the Compact Food Processor, remove all the packaging materials.
• WARNING: Make sure the Compact Food Processor is switched off and unplugged at
the socket when inserting or removing the blades.
• Take care when handling and changing the blades as they are extremely sharp.
• Before first use, wipe the base unit with a clean damp cloth.
• Wash the blades, lid, bowl with wide chute, blade spindle and pusher in warm soapy
water, rinse and dry thoroughly.
• Make sure that all parts are clean and dry before assembling the product.
• Place the base on a flat, dry and stable surface near a socket, at least 10cm away from
a wall.
1. Put the bowl with wide chute onto the base and turn
clockwise to lock in place.
2. Place the blade spindle through the blade holder and blade
you wish to use. Lining up the groove of the blade spindle
with the raised part in the centre of the blade holder.
WARNING: The edges of the blades are very sharp – do not
touch them.

3. Now place the joined blade holder and blade onto the blade
locator in the centre of the bowl, with the blade spindle at
the bottom.
4. Put the lid onto the bowl and turn clockwise.
5. Ensure the lock mechanisms line up at the back and click into
place. If the lock mechanisms are not in the lock position the
appliance will not work, this is a safety feature.
6. The Compact Food Processor is now ready to use.

1. Place the end of the blade into the slot on the blade holder.
2. Gently push the blade over the blade holder using both
thumbs until it clicks into place.

1. Holding the blade holder with the underside facing you, use
both thumbs to push the blade off.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
• Chop your food into long thin pieces, around 1-3cm thick. If you are making fries cut
your potatoes thicker, around 3cm. Do not try to process large chunks.
• Always allow hot ingredients to cool down before you put them in the Compact Food
Processor.
• Make sure the lid and bowl are securely locked in place before plugging in. The
appliance will not work if these are not securely locked in place, this is a safety feature
of the appliance.
• Plug in and switch on the Compact Food Processor at the socket. Place a small bowl
underneath the wide chute, this is where food will come out of the Compact Food
Processor.
• When you switch on the Compact Food Processor for the first time there may be a
slight burning smell. This is normal for a new product and will disappear after a few
uses.
• Remove the pusher from the feeding tube and place a few pieces of food into the
feeding tube. Be careful not to overfill.
• Turn the control dial to ‘I’ and use the pusher to feed the food through.
• Apply steady pressure on the pusher to slowly and gently press the food through the
feeding tube. DO NOT use force.
• Only use the pusher to push food through the appliance, NEVER use your fingers or
hands.
• Your food will feed through the wide chute straight into the bowl underneath.
• Turn the control dial to off ‘O’ when you have finished to stop the appliance.
• WARNING: Always wait for the blade to stop rotating completely before removing the
lid. Carefully take out the blade holder holding the blade spindle.
• Switch off and unplug the Compact Food Processor at the socket.
• Take apart and clean the appliance between different foods, see care and cleaning.
• DO NOT operate continuously for more than 2 minutes. Allow it the appliance to rest
for 5 minutes before using again. After three cycles, allow the unit to cool completely
before using again.

HINTS AND TIPS
• Firm ingredients will achieve the best results, these will help stop food becoming stuck
in the feeding tube.
• The shredding and slicing blades are intended for shredding or slicing vegetables such as
cucumbers, carrots, potatoes, onions and certain cheeses, such as Parmesan and Gouda.
• The julienne blade is intended for cutting vegetables into thin sticks.
• The dicing blade is intended for cutting potatoes into fries.
• This appliance is not suitable for chopping extremely hard food e.g. ice cubes, nutmeg
or coffee beans. It is not intended for use as a meat grinder.
• If the blade holder plastic becomes stained by food, e.g. carrot, rub it with a cloth
dipped in a little cooking oil and then clean as above.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Question: Why can I not switch the Compact Food Processor on?
Answer: Check the Compact Food Processor is plugged in and switched on at the
socket.
Question: The Compact Food Processor is fully assembled, why is nothing happening
when I turn the control dial?
Answer: The Compact Food Processor is not correctly assembled and has a safety
feature. Switch off and unplug at the socket and check the parts are correctly
aligned. The bowl must be fully twisted into the bowl lock and the lid must
be fully twisted into the lid lock.
Question: Why are my vegetables not as I expected?
Answer: Do not use ingredients which are soft in the Compact Food Processor.
Question: Why is the blade spindle hard to fit and remove?
Answer: With use this will become easier to fit and remove.
Question: Why are my ingredients not feeding through the Compact Food Processor?
Answer: The blade and feeding tube may have become clogged. Switch off and
unplug the Compact Food Processor at the socket. Remove the lid from
the base and take apart. Wash everything in warm soapy water and dry
thoroughly before reassembling.
Question: Why is smoke coming out of the Compact Food Processor?
Answer: It is normal for a new product to produce an unpleasant smell or emit smoke
when it is first used. This will disappear after a few uses.

CARE AND CLEANING
• Switch off and unplug the Compact Food Processor before cleaning.
• Clean thoroughly before using for the first time and after every use.
• Check the parts for wear or damage after every few uses.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, or steel wool.
• Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
• To clean the base unit, wipe with a clean damp cloth and dry thoroughly before
storing.
• Wash the blades, bowl, lid and pusher in warm, soapy water, dry thoroughly before
storing. All of these parts are dishwasher safe.
• CAUTION: The blades are very sharp, take care when cleaning.
• If the blade holder plastic becomes stained by food, e.g. carrot, rub it with a cloth
dipped in a little cooking oil and then clean as above.
• Store the Compact Food Processor with the power cable loosely coiled. Never wrap it
tightly around the product.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
This appliance is fitted with a fused three-pin plug to BS1363 which is suitable for use
in all homes fitted with sockets to current specifications. If the fitted plug is not suitable
for your socket outlets, it should be cut off and carefully disposed of. To avoid an electric
shock, do not insert the discarded plug into a socket.
This product is a class 2 electrical appliance and does not include an earth wire.
FITTING A NEW PLUG
If for any reason you need to fit a new plug, the flexible mains lead must be connected
as shown here. The wires in the mains lead fitted to this appliance are coloured in
accordance with the following code:
Connect BLUE to Neutral (N)
Connect BROWN to Live (L)
3 amp fuse to be used
If the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance do not correspond with the
coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows. The wire
which is coloured blue MUST be connected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N (Neutral). The wire which is coloured brown MUST be connected to the terminal
which is marked with the letter L (Live).
Before refitting the plug cover, check that there are no cut or stray strands of wire inside
the plug. Use a 3 amp BS1362 fuse. Only BSI or ASTA approved fuses should be used. If
you are at all unsure which plug or fuse to use, always refer to a qualified electrician.
Note: after replacing or changing a fuse on a moulded plug which has a fuse cover, the
cover must be refitted to the plug; the appliance must not be used without a fuse cover.
If lost, replacement fuse covers can be obtained from an electrical shop. This appliance
complies with the following EU Directives: 2014/35/EU (Low Voltage Directive) and
2014/30/EU (EMC Directive).
