
YourAPS-20BVehicleAlarm System has many features and available options some of which
mustbe selected attime of installation. Foryour reference,thelist onthe back pageof this
manual shows what features and options have been installed with this particular system.
Consultyourinstalling dealer foroptionsthatmay have been installedandarenot listed.
ARMINGTHESYSTEM -ACTIVE
1.Turn the engineoff, exit thevehicle and closeall doors.
2.Pressand release thelockbutton of yourkeychain transmitter onetime.
The parking lights will flash once, the siren will chirp once, and the dash mounted LED will
begintoflashslowlyconfirming the system isarmed. Ifyouhavetheoptionaldoorlock/unlock
circuitinstalled, the doorswillalso lock.
SILENTARMING- ACTIVE
1.Turn the engineoff, exit thevehicle and closeall doors.
2.Press andhold the lockbutton ofyour key chain transmitter fortwo seconds.
The parking lights will flash once and the dash mounted LED will begin to flash slowly
confirmingthe system isarmed. The siren willnot chirp. If youhave the optionaldoor lock/
unlockcircuit installed, thedoorswill lock.
ARMINGTHESYSTEM - PASSIVE(AUTOMATIC)
Ifthe passive armingfeaturehas been selected:
Turnthe engine off,exit the vehicleand close alldoors.
The dash mounted LED will immediately begin to flash rapidly indicating that the 30 second
passivearmingtimerhasbegun. IftheLEDdoesnotbegin to flash rapidly,then youhaveleft
adoor, hoodortrunk ajar. Closingthis entrypointwillallow the armingcycleto begin. If any
entrypointisopenedduringthe30secondarmingcycle,armingwillbesuspended. Whenall
entrypoints are closed,the arming cyclewillbegin again. At theend of the30 seconds, the
parkinglightswillflashonce,thesiren will chirp once and thedashmountedLEDwillbeginto
flashslowlyconfirmingthesystemis armed. If the sirendidnotsoundwhenarming,thenthe
chirps have been turned off. Please refer to the section titled "Eliminating the Arm/Disarm
Chirps" later in this manual. Passive door locking is a selectable feature. If you have the
optionaldoorlock/unlockcircuitinstalled,thedoorsmayormaynotlockpassivelydependent
uponthesetupduringinstallation.
PROTECTIONWHILETHESYSTEMISARMED:
Whenever the system is armed, opening any protected entry point, (i.e.; hood, trunk, or
doors),willcausethealarmtotriggerimmediately. The siren will soundandtheparkinglights
willflashfor30seconds, then stop andresettocontinuetomonitor all protected entrypoints.
Ifthethief happened toleavethe entry pointopen,the system willsoundfor six consecutive
30secondcycles then shutdownand reset, isolatingthetriggeredzone, while continuingto
monitorandprotect all other zones.
Whenever the system is armed, the dash mounted LED will slowly flash. This serves as a
visualdeterrenttoapotentialthief. This LED is averylowcurrentlightemittingdiodeand will
notcause the batteryto draineven if leftunattended for longperiods of time.
Ifthe
optional
shocksensor isinstalled,anystrongimpacttothe vehicle will cause theshock
