press.Itmustthereforealwaysbekeptin
thedesignatedplace.

Inprinciple,everymachineissupplied
withaDeclarationofConformity.This
statesthatthemachinefulfilsthebasic
safetyandhealthrequirementsoftheEC
DirectiveonMachines.
ConformityinaccordancewithEC
directive2006/42/EEC
IntheeventthatnoDeclarationof
Conformityisissued,theattachedEC
DeclarationofIncorporationfor
incompletemachinesstateswithwhich
additionalcomponentsthemachinemust
beassembledbeforeitisputinto
operation.Untilthemachinehasbeen
completelyassembled,commissioningof
individualcomponentsisforbidden.
Ifmaintenancetaskshavebeenneglected
orperformedincorrectly,wecanno
longerfulfilourguaranteeobligations
accordingtoourconditionsofsale.All
safetyrequirementsmustalwaysbemet
beforestartingtooperatethechannel
balingpress.
Everymachinehasanameplateanda
briefmanualinstructionattheswitchgear
box.Besidesthebriefmanualinstruction,
thenameplatealsocontainsimportant
informationonthemachine,forexample

number.Pleasebeawarethatthesebrief

Thechannelbalingpressisdesignedfor
compactingsoftmaterialssuchaspaper,
cartonboard,foilsandsimilarmaterials.
Onlythosematerialscanbecompacted
whichcanbedeformedbytheforceof
pressurespecifiedandwhichcanbe
compactedintothepresschamber.Any
otheruseoranyusebeyondthisuseis
deemedtoconstituteimproperuse.
PRESTOGmbH&Co.KGwillnotbeliable
foranydamagewhatsoeverasaresultof
this.Anyriskisbornesolelybythe
operatorofthemachine.
2.2. Improperuse
Explosiveandequivalentsubstancesor
thosewhicharehighlyflammable
(accordingto§1SprengG)mustnotbeput
intothemachine.
Substanceswhicharesubjecttospecial
conditionsunderthewastedisposalact
whendisposedmustnotbeputintothe
press.
Neithermaythefollowingsubstancesbe
putintothemachineastheymaycause
thepressureramtobecomeblocked
suddenly:buildingrubble,woodorform
orrodframesmadefrommetalorother
hardmaterials.Incandescentorburning
particlesmustnotbeputintothe
machine.

Thestatedconformityonlyappliestothe
structuralconditioninaccordancewith
theagreedscopeofsupplyatthetimeof
shippingofthemachine.Installations
madeand/orequipmentaddedbythe

2.5 Warrantyandliability
Themachinesuppliedwasmanufactured
accordingtostate‐of‐the‐arttechnology
andrecognisedsafetystandards.
However,dangertolifeandlimband/or
impairmentofthemachineorother
propertymayneverthelessresultifitis
usedimproperlyorcontrarytoits
intendeduse.PRESTOGmbH&Co.KGwill
notbeheldliableforanydamageresulting
fromsuchimproperuse.Theriskisborne
solelybytheoperatorofthemachine.
Onlyoperatemachinewhenitis
technicallyinorderandaccordingtothe
intendeduse.Thisrequirescompliance
withthecompulsorysafetyrulesand
regulationsapplicableatthesiteof
installationandwithrecognisedtechnical
rulesforsafeandproperworkingaswell
astheoperatingmanual,inspectionand
maintenanceinstructions.
OnlyoriginalPRESTOsparepartsassure

3.1. General

Thesafetyregulationsofthecountryin
whichtheequipmentisusedmustbe
observed.
Allrecurringinspectionsandmaintenance
tasks,definedinthechapteron
maintenance,mustbeperformedatthe
specifiedintervalsanddocumentedinthe
recordsprovidedforthispurpose.
Themachinesuppliedwasmanufactured
accordingtostate‐of‐the‐arttechnology

Thesiteofinstallationhastobeselected

supporttheloadofmachine

thelegsofthemachinetotheground.
Fixingthemachinetothegroundisonly
necessaryifthebalesarepushedforat
least5m.Useheavydutyplugsand
suitablescrewsforfixingthemachine(see
enclosedprojectdocumentation).
Theinstallationlocationhastosecurethat
nowaterorotherliquidsmayreach
neitherthebearingnorthemotor.This
mayleadtocapitaldamages.
Forinstallationandstart‐upoftheplant
theprovisionsofthewaterresourcesact
andtheenvironmentprotectionactmust
beobserved.
Whenoperatingthemachineoutdoors
withoutspecialprecautions,weather
conditionscanleadtomalfunctionsand
corrosion.Ifthereisanydangerof
iceformationorsnow,whenwork
finishesoritisstoppedforlongerperiods
(forinstance,breaksduringwork)the
openloadingfunneliscoveredwitha
plasticsheetorpanel.
Useoftheequipmentinspacesexposed
toanexplosionhazardandinexplosive
atmospheresisprohibited.
Theplantmayonlybeoperatedfroma
mainssupplywhichmeetsthe
requirementsstipulatedinthechapter
"Electricsystem".
Afaultcurrentprotectivecircuitin
accordancewithVDE0100mustbe
installedasaprotectionagainstbeing
touchedindirectly.Themachinemustnot
beusedifthemainssupplycableisfaulty.

looseningthebolts3or4turns.Thebolts
shouldremaininthedrillholes.Thecover
cannowbeslidalongthekeyholeand
removedbyliftingovertheboltheads
whichfitthroughtheround,upper
keyholeaperture.Thecoversarereplaced
byreversingthesequence.

Themachineandtheswitchgearboxmust

(frost,dampness,directsunlight)inlow‐
dust,ventilatedroomswherethereisno
condensationandtheairisnotsaturated
withmoisture.Furthermoretheairmust
befreeofacidsalkalineandother
aggressivematerials.
3.10Operatingthemachine
Sufficientclearancebehindthechannel
balingpressforthebaleswhichare
ejectedmustbeavailableatthe
installationsite.In‐planthandling
equipmentmustbeabletoapproach
withoutendangeringanyperson.Thepick‐
upanddepartureareaforthein‐plant
handlingequipmentmustbemarked.
Themachinecanbechargedindifferent
ways.Ifthemethodofchargingis
changed,itismandatorytoverifythatthe
applicablesafetyregulationsarefulfilled.
IfthecharginglevelischangedPRESTO
canprovideanappropriatefunnel.
Theinstallationsiteor,respectively,the
charginglevelmustbeselectedinsucha
wayastoensurethatthesafeminimum
heighttothefunnelandtothecharging
doorwhichmaybeinstalledatthesideis
respected.
Whenthemachineisbeingmanually
chargedtheminimumsafetyheightfrom
thechargingedgetotheoperator's
standingareamaynotbelessthan
1200mm.
