INTRODUCTION

semi-professionals. Our Proaim Kite-22 Starter package is designed for years of trouble-free oper-
aon and has the fastest setup and longest reach of any crane in its price category. With preci-
sion engineering and quality of manufacture, the Proaim Kite-22 Starter package is truly a profes-
sional tool that will expand a directors creave opportunies. The smooth-coated, corrosion re-
sistant cables are easy to handle and will last a lifeme.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX
Please inspect the contents of your shipped package to ensure you have received all that is
pictured and listed below. The grey foam shipping /storage container has been especially
designed to protect your purchase while in transit and is a good place to keep your Proaim
Kite-22 Starter package contents when not in use. You will receive this package in 4 boxes.

 We send the Jib secons in two boxes. One box has the secons with
pipe packing and the other box (cardboard box) has the rest of the
secons. We only send one pipe packing for the jib secons.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
 Open Tripod spreader. In order to extend legs of spreader, loosen the knob and extend it as
per your requirement and reghten the knob to secure.
 Take out the Jib Stand from its case, spread and extend its legs.

Warning: We have provided double locking precauons on Jib Stand; Pin is the rst and pri-
mary locking, knob is the secondary locking, so rst lock the Pin to avoid slipping of stand.
 Fix the tripod stand with Spreader and ghten the top ratchet knobs of stand to secure it in
place.
 Install the Hub Assembly by sliding the boom of the hub assembly
into the stand’s Mount opening.
Warning: This is the Pan Fricon Knob. Never pan the Jib with this knob
ghtened.
If this knob turns while panning, it is too ght. Only ghten while parking
the jib !
INSTALLING THE HUB ASSEMBLY
Note : The Hub Assembly has several mounng holes. You can mount LCD
Monitor or Joysck box to this assembly if you want.
INSTALLING THE JIB SECTIONS
 Install the Secon 7 & 6 (largest diameter secon to the rear) to the vercal pivot point with the
long bolt, washers and nut. Tighten the nut properly to secure the secon.
 Match the holes of the boom leg secon with the upper leg secon to secure the tripod
stand with the Steel locking Pins and ghten the knobs.

 Slide Secon 5 into Secon 6 and join with ring pin.
 Install the pin at the rst join holes of the secons and bolt, washers and nut from side at
the second holes of secon.

This Ring Pin is to avoid the play in Jib.
This knob is for ghtening the Jib secons.
IMPORTANT
ASSEMBLING THE REAR FRAME
 Take the two 16mm thick rods and two 25mm thick rods.
Aach these rods altogether so that it makes a rectangle
and for this insert the 16mm rods into slots of 25mm rods.
 Aach the Allen bolts by screwing in with hand and ghten with Allen key at all the four
points to secure properly.
 Similarly insert all the secons one by one (small to the big) and install the pin and bolt ,
washers and nut to secure each secon.

 Align the threads of joysck plate with the threads of the 1mm rods and ghten the Allen
bolts with Allen key.
 Take out the two black tubes from the weight rod.
 Insert one L-Bracket and then the central black tube with washers at both ends into the
weight rod.
 Insert the second L-Bracket & the third black tube at the end of the weight rod.
 Detach the top screw from the frame from both sides.
 Aach the rod with L-Brackets with the rectangular frame and ghten the top screw. Then
screw-in the knobs at both ends.

 Aach the bigger weight rod with L-Brackets, for this insert the rod into one L-Bracket then
add the black tube with white washers at both the sides, insert the rod into the other L-
Bracket and then add the black tube. Tighten the nut and then aach the knob at the end.
INSTALLING THE REAR FRAME
 To mount the Rear secon, align the Assembly’s ‘L’ brackets to the tail of jib secon and in-
sert the bolt with washers through one end of the secon to the other. Slide the bolt
through and hand ghten.
 Add weights (Not Included) to the rear weight secon at both sides and ghten the weight
closer knobs to secure properly.
INSTALLING THE HEAD PLATFORM
 Install the Head Plaorm assembly (leveling arm up) to the end of the smallest secon with
the provided bolt, sha collars, washers and nut. Tighten all the Allen bolts and nuts to se-
cure properly.
NOTE: Add white washers as per requirement on both sides of jib secon so that there is no
play in between head plate & Jib secon.

 Connect the Head Plaorm Leveling Cable by hooking the turnbuckle ends .
INSTALLING THE STRESS CABLE
INSTALLING THE PAN TILT HEAD
 Aach the Pan Tilt Head with the Jib. There are 4
mounng holes on the pan lt as well as the jib plate.
Align the holes and aach it with the screws. Tighten the
wing nuts to secure properly.
 Adjust the mounng extension so that the pan motor is in the rear facing posion before
mounng.
 Install your cable starng at the camera end; leaving enough cable slack for the camera for
full pan & lt movement, you may need to add Velcro to loop the cable around the jib arm.
INSTALLING THE JOYSTICK CONTROL
 Install and hookup the pan & tilt joystick box on Jib Frame. Connect the wires with the Joy-
stick Control Box.
CABLES & CONTROL BOX
 Install the 12 volt DC power (4 pin XLR) in rear of Joysck Box.
Note: Any 12 volt baery may operate the PROAIM™ SR PAN TILT HEAD as long as the
connector mates and is #1 pin Negave and #4 pin Posive.
CAUTION: DO NOT USE A UNREGULATED POWER SUPPLY! IF USING A REGULATED POWER SUP-
PLY IT MUST PRODUCE LESS THAN 12 VOLTS. MORE THAN 24 VOLTS MAY CAUSE PERMANENT
DAMAGE.
