Owners Manual M- Ped-SE
- For e-bikes and pedelecs with the BionX drive system -
Please read these instructions carefully before usin the M-Ped-SE device !
T e activation of t is device will void t e manufacturer's warranty.
Please note t e legal regulations: T is device is only to be used for sport or competition
purposes. Once t e M-Ped-SE system is activated, t e bike must not be used on t e road !
T e actual ac ievable speed depends on t e type of BionX system on t e bicycle.
Connectin the M-Ped-SE to the bike:
- Locate t e connector plug on t e BionX cable near t e Console or Motor.
- Remove t e s rink tubing on t e cable plug
- Disconnect t e cable (slide back t e connector sleeve on t e plug, t en pull t e connector
apart)
- Connect t e M-Ped-SE to t e bike cable plug.
- Press t e Start button on t e BionX Console.

After switc ing t e unit on, t e following information is displayed on t e M-Ped-SE screen:
- Firmware version (of t e M-Ped-SE )
- Limit: xx / Free : xx ( limit : xx = number of possible Bikes / Free: xx = Remaining bikes)
“OK“ Button:
With the OK button confirm or select
a function.
“ESC“ Button:
With the ESC button cancel an
operation.
“UP“ Button:
With the UP button scroll forward in
the menu.
“DOWN“ Button:
With the DOWN button scroll
backwards in the menu.

Main Menu:

T e default M-Ped-SE menu language is German.
To set it to Englis , press t e Up button to display Setup, t en press OK
Sprache will display. Press OK
Press t e UP button to display Englis , t en press OK
Press ESC to return to t e main menu
- Settin the maximum bike speed: (Vmax)
25 km / h
35 km / h
45 km / h
55 km / h
65 km / h
Custom settin
Select t e desired preset speed from t e menu by pressing t e UP button, or enter a specific
desired maximum speed (1 Km/ - 70 Km/ ) on t e keypad. Specific values can be entered by
pressing OK w en individ. is displayed (See: Entering a value)
After setting t e Vmax value and confirming wit t e OK - button, t e console will display
several process settings. T e unit will t en ask for confirmation. Press eit er ESC to return to
t e main menu, or OK to confirm t e setting. After pressing OK, t e system will power down
and turn off automatically.
If you want to perform anot er function (eg t rottle Vmax), press t e ESC button, t e
console will remain in CanSlave mode and t e main menu of t e M-Ped-SE will be displayed
again.
After t e power is off, remove t e M-Ped-SE unit and reconnect t e bike cable.
If an error occurs (eg wit a G1 Console) see troubles ooting below.

- Settin the throttle speed
If your BionX system as a "t rottle" feature, you can enter a custom Vmax value under t is
menu item. (See: Entering a value)
- Settin the KM odometer (milea e)
If you c ange t e BionX console you can set t e actual distance previously ridden by
entering t e desired KM-value on t e new console. (See: Entering a value)After successfully
writing t e value, t e console will automatically turn off.
Please observe the le al requirements: True Milea e must be specified when a bike is sold!
- Values
ON / OFF
Indicates ow many times t e bike settings ave been modified or "Switc ed", t e value is
displayed until any key is pressed on t e M-Ped-SE.
LadeZyk
Indicates ow many times t e battery as been c arged, t e value is displayed until any key
is pressed on t e M-Ped-SE.
- Wheel circumference
Read:
Reads t e actual stored W eel circumference in mm from t e Bike ECU
Chan e:
Write a personal W eel circumference in mm in t e Bike ECU
- Motor Temperature (s ows t e Motortemperature in t e G2-Console)
On:
Activate t e Function
Off:
Deactivate t e Function

T is is a function restricted to t e M-Ped-SE manufacturer and is password protected.
Note: misuse of this function will permanently disable the M-Ped-SE device!

Enterin a value:

Example: To enter t e value 357:
-Press is t e UP button t ree times until t e display reads 3
3x UP button ...

- Press t e Down button, and t e display will read 30
-Now press t e UP button five times until t e display reads 35
5x UP button ...

- Press t e Down button, and t e display will read 350
-Now press t e UP button seven times until t e display reads 357
7x UP button ...

W en t e desired value is displayed, press t e OK button, t e displayed value is accepted.
An incorrect entry can be reset by pressing t e ESC key.

Troubleshootin
Problems settin the "CAN slave mode " :
If you can not enable t e CanSlave mode by t e G1 Console, press and old t e On / Off
button on t e G1 Console from t e beginning of t e procedure "fixed" during t e activation
process.
Error messa es:
ErrorNr = 1 / Failed to set the CanSlave mode
ErrorNr = 2 / Failed to read the serial number
ErrorNr = 3 / Failed to write the Vmax value to the Console
ErrorNr = 4 / Failed to write the Vmax value to the Motor
ErrorNr = 5 / Failed to read the Vmax value from the Console
ErrorNr = 6 / Failed to read the Vmax value from the Motor
ErrorNr = 7 / Failed to write the Vmax value to theThrottle
ErrorNr = 8 / Failed to read the Vmax value from the Throttle
ErrorNr = 9 / Failed to read the KM value from the Console
ErrorNr = 10 / letter of the KM article
ErrorNr = 11 / Failed to read the number of ON / OFF cycles
ErrorNr = 12 / Failed to read the number of char e cycles
Limited Error / M-Ped-SE is married with another BionX system as the actual connected
If an error code is displayed, press the ESC or OK button. This will display the main menu.
Press on the OK - button, then repeat the desired process.

Information on Smart and Grace Bike’s:
- Connect t e M-Ped-SE as described above on your Smart or Grace bike.
-Select t e desired value and press t e OK button.
-T en press IMMEDIATELY t e buttons on t e console of your bike s ortly alternately.
Press all buttons s ort but do not old, t e order is not relevant.
If you observe t is, t e bike will not turn off and you can complete t e activation wit t e
M-Ped-SE wit out any problems.
Information on Diamant / Trek Bike’s:
For t e bike's manufacturer Diamant / Trek is a battery-powered version of t e
M-Ped-SE available w ic operates independently of t e power supply of t e bike.
