INTRODUCTION
The Proton Products InteliTHERM HTG400 handheld temperature gauge is a portal contact
(thermometer) temperature instrument designed for use on continuous cable production lines for bare
metal wire temperature measurement.
The temperature gauge is designed with a V-shaped wire slot which consists of one copper flange
and one constantan flange separated by a thin insulator on a rotary wheel. When the heated wire is
put on the V-shaped slot, a thermos electric voltage is generated between both flanges during the
contact and the temperature is determined by measuring the voltage.
Note:DO NOT use electrically-conductive detergent to clean the flanges and the rotary wheel.
Please use a dry soft brush to clean it if necessary.
SPECIFICATIONS

DISPLAY AND OPERATION
Display
GDC8310-1 segment LCD display with green LED back light
Temperature display format
If the measured temperature is lower than 100°C/°F, the temperature reading keeps one digit after the
decimal point, otherwise no digit after the decimal point.
Keyboard
Press the button to power on the temperature gauge. During the gauge power on, press the
button to reset the current temperature reading to the measured maximum temperature reading.
The gauge will be automatically switched off one minute after the last pressing on the button.
Press the button to switch the temperature display unit between centigrade degree and

CHARGING
The temperature gauge uses Li-ion battery as the power source. It usually takes 8 hours to have the
battery fully charged. The temperature gauge can be continuously used around 50 hours with a full
charge.
It’s recommended to use the specified charger or USB cable to charge the temperature gauge. The
charging voltage range should be 4.7V~5.2V and the charging current should be equal or greater than
500mA.
Charging via the USB cable
Unwind the USB cable, plug one end to the USB port on the bottom of the temperature gauge and the
other end to a PC or other standard USB port.
Charging via the specified charger
The temperature gauge can also be charged by the specified charger which includes 4 worldwide
adaptors: Australia/China, Europe, UK, and US/Japan. A micro USB to USB type-C converter is
provided since the cable end of the charger is not standard USB interface.
To charge the temperature gauge, plug one end with the required adaptor to the power supply and
the other end with the converter connected to the USB port of the temperature gauge.
