repair or replace a defective unit, at our option, without charge for parts or labor.
The limited warranty is extended only to the original purchaser and is valid only

This cable adapter allows you to
create a PoC (PTT-Over-Cellular)
to Two-Way Radio gateway
using only an android cellphone
running the Zello app and a
two-way radio.
LNK-83-ZU model shown.
Other models may vary in appearance.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
The LINK cable uses VOX (Voice Operated Transmit) on both the radio and phone sides
of the link. Prior to using the cable, you should ensure that the two-way radio that will
be used in Gateway operation is programmed for VOX (Voice Operated Transmit)
operation.
For best results, you should program the radio so that any keypad beeps or other
audible notifications are disabled. Similarly, it is recommended that audible notifica-
tions for most apps on the phone that will be used in the gateway should also be
disabled. Any audio notifications that are not disabled could be transmitted over the
radio and/or PoC channels during LINK operation.
HOW TO USE THE LINK CABLE
To use the LINK cable, do the following:
1. Turn off the two-way radio that will be used in gateway operation and connect the
cable to the radio’s accessory port.
2. Plug the other end of the cable into the phone that will be used for gateway
operation.
3. Launch the Zello app. Go to Options > Push To Talk Buttons and make sure the VOX
button option is enabled as “shown.”
4. In Zello, navigate to the contact or channel that you wish make use for gateway
operation. Make sure the that the “VOX” wave icon is highlighted in blue (enabled). If
it is not, then tap on it to enable VOX operation.
5. Power on the two-way radio and select the channel or talk group that you wish to
use for gateway operation.
6. Enable VOX operation using the manufacturer’s instructions for doing so (normally
by pressing a pre-programmed button).
The gateway is now ready for operation. Communications received by the two-way
radio will be retransmitted onto the PoC channel, and vice-versa. However, you may
still need to adjust the volume on the radio and/or the volume setting on the phone
and receive amplifier setting in Zello to set the audio levels for best sound and
performance. Note that you also may need to adjust the VOX Sensitivity and/or VOX
Delay settings in the two-way radio using the manufacturer’s instructions.
