Installation Instructions for Nova Up/Down Suspension Modular
End Cap Power Connector

Section One: Connecting Channel Sections
1: Align the male pin carrier with the top female connector on the End Cap Power Connector.
2: Push the male pins completely in the female connector of the End Cap Power Connector and then lift the carrier up to
remove it.
3: Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the middle female connector of the end cap.

4: Align the channel assembly with the End Cap Power
Connector.

5: Push the channel assembly onto the joiners and male pins of
the End Cap Power Connector until they are properly mated.
6: Secure the channel by tightening the two #4-40 set screws
using a 0.05" Allen wrench.
7: Install the lenses and optional louver to the assembled
channel.

8: Remove the two Phillips screws from the sliding post.
9: Place the back part of the sliding post inside the back of the
channel and rotate it into place.
10: Place the other part of the sliding post onto the back of the
channel.
11: Ensure that the power cables are in between the two parts
of the sliding post.

12: Insert the two Phillips screws halfway into the sliding post
to loosely join the two parts.
13: Adjust the position of the sliding post by moving it across
the channel.
WARNING: To avoid damaging the coaxial cables electrical
connections, make sure that the end of the coaxial cables coming
out of the fixture is held with thumb before relocating sliding
post.

14: Tighten the two Phillips screws on the sliding post to
secure it to the channel.

NOTE: If cable is curled or kinked, straighten by holding between the shaft of a screwdriver and thumb and pulling the cable
through (see inset).

1: Split the end of the coaxial cables coming from the End Cap Power Connector.
2: For the 2" canopy, feed the cables through the knurled nut, 2" canopy and cord grip assembly respectively.
3: For the 4" canopy, feed the cables through the cord grip of the canopy.
4: Use the 18AWG hole of the wire stripper to remove 1-3/8"
of the outer insulation to expose the braided wire.
5: Use the 18AWG hole of the wire stripper to remove 1" of
the braided wire making sure not to nick the inner wire
insulation.
6: Use the 20AWG hole of the wire stripper to remove 1/8" of
the inner insulated wire.

Section Two: Installing the Canopy

NOTE: Omit this section if the connector does not come with a 2" or 4" Canopy. Refer to the other surface mount power canopies
instructions provided with the product.

7: Unscrew the coaxial connector covers and remove from the
connector assembly.

8: Using the provided 1.5mm Allen wrench, remove the M3
set screw from the coaxial connector assembly.
9: Using the provided 2mm Allen wrench to loosen (Do Not
Remove) the M4 set screw.
10: Slide the connector cover over the coaxial cable.
11: Place the ferrule over the 3/8" braided wire of the coaxial
cable.

12: Insert the coaxial cable into the coaxial connector until the wires of the center conductor are visible through the M3 set
screw hole.
NOTE: Ensure that the split in the ferrule is aligned 90° from the M4 set screw (see inset).

13: Use the provided 1.5mm Allen wrench to replace and
securely tighten the M3 set screw.

14: Use the provided 2mm Allen wrench to securely tighten the
M4 set screw until it squeezes the wire ferrule tightly to the
coaxial cable.

15: Replace the coaxial connector cover and tighten into
place.
16: Repeat steps 4 through 15 for connecting the other coaxial
cable.

NOTE: Ensure remote power supply wires are present in the
junction box. Refer to instructions provided with the power
supply.
NOTE: If using 2" Round or Square Canopy, refer to the
instructions provided with the canopy to install the junction box
with 2" plaster ring.
For 4" Canopy:
17: Feed the low voltage wires from the power supplies
through the crossbar center hole.
18: Mount the crossbar to the junction box holes with two
#8-32 screws.
For Both 2" Canopy and 4" Canopy:
19: Connect the red wire from one coaxial connector to a +24VDC power supply wire with a wire nut.
20: Connect the black wire of the same coaxial connector to the -24VDC wire of the same power supply with a wire nut.
21: Repeat steps 19 and 20 for the other coaxial connector and power supply.
22: Place all connections inside the junction box.

NOTE: Omit steps 23 and 24 if using 4" Round or Square
canopy. Adjust fixture height by following step 26.
23: Mount the cord grip assembly to the 2" plaster ring using
two #8-32 screws.
24: Place the canopy over the cord grip against the ceiling.
Secure it in place by tightening the knurled nut to the cord
grip. Make sure the knurled cap is not cross
threaded.

V25: Align the canopy with the crossbar and secure it using the
two #4-40 screws using a 1/16" Allen wrench.
26: If necessary for fine adjustment of the fixture height push
the cord grip tabs to slide the fixture up and down until
desired height is achieved. Release the cord grip tabs to
lock the coaxial cables in place.
