IMPORTANT:
Be sure to save all packing materials included
with the Ultimate Outlet as this will be required
if you ever need to ship the unit for service or
modification.

Overview
AC power is one of the most important and
most overlooked factors in consumer audio/
video and Home Theater Systems. More
often than not, the quality of AC power is
problematic and difficult to correct.
The Ultimate Outlet is designed to improve
upon conventional duplex sockets where
critical power is desired. Plug one into an
AC outlet, and it will provide clean, safe,
unrestricted AC power to electronic equip-
ment.

In a listening room, we recommend plug-
ging Ultimate Outlets into existing wall
sockets, thereby powering the entire A/V
system. For maximum improvement big
power amplifiers should each have a
dedicated Ultimate Outlet to ensure they
receive clean, safe, better sounding AC.
For video specific applications, we recom-
mend mounting an Ultimate Outlet in the
ceiling * or attic space above the projector
to feed a ceiling-mounted video projector.
The Ultimate Outlet can even be mounted
on the wall next to a duplex outlet to pro-
vide power for a system.
The Ultimate Outlet can also be used to
further enhance our own Power Plant AC
regenerators. When used before the Power
Plant the Ultimate Outlet will pre-clean the
power allowing the Power Plant to produce
a better signal. When used after the Power
Plant the Ultimate Outlet will serve to fur-
ther electrically isolate “noisy” components,
such as digital audio products.
The Ultimate Outlet provides full protection
from all surges and spikes which can be
carried over the AC power line. Each home
outlet can potentially damage connected
equipment by allowing this detrimental
power through the line. Traditional protec-
tion, found in many power conditioners and
power strips is often less than successful
because it requires a trade-off in perfor-
mance.

Quick Start Guide
1. Plug the Ultimate Outlet into the wall AC
outlet or power distribution device (such as
a Power Plant). Use the supplied cable or
an aftermarket power cable. For optimum
results we suggest the use of a PS Audio
xStream Power cable.
2. A small click should be heard as the
relay comes on-line. The Ultimate Outlet
will now provide power to components
which are plugged into it.
3. Plug in components or power distribution
devices into the Ultimate Outlet recep-
tacles.
4. Ensure that the blown fuse light does not
illuminate.
5. Enjoy the sonic and visual benefits the
Ultimate Outlet will bring to any system.

refer to the instructions included with the
Ultimate Outlet wall mount kit.
Rear Panel Layout
1. IEC Power Input
15 amp male IEC standard power socket
2. Blown Fuse LED
This LED will only illuminate when the pro-
tection fuse is blown. The Ultimate Outlet
will not pass current to components while
the LED is illuminated.
3. Fuse
The fuse is a 1 amp fast blow. It can be
removed by inserting a flat device into the
fuse holder and twisting couter-clockwise.
Front Panel Layout
Power Receptacle(s)
Depending on the type of Ultimate Outlet
purchased, the power receptacle will either
be a Spec Grade, PS Audio Power Port™,
European Schuko or UK receptacle.
The Spec Grade Standard, High Current
Power Port™, Schuko and UK Spec ver-
sions provide two power receptacles.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Ultimate Outlet replace the
need for a Power Plant?
The Ultimate Outlet is great for cleaning
electrical system noise and harmonics,
lowering output impedance, and providing
protection without limiting dynamics. But it
was not designed to fix low voltage, regu-
late power levels, repair the typical clipped
sine wave that comes out of a home outlet,
or convert wall voltage to balanced power.
Only a Power Plant can provide the benefits
of these refinements as well as generating
MultiWave™ for A/V systems.
Does the Ultimate Outlet provide isola-
tion between equipment?
The Ultimate Outlet provides a tremendous
amount of two-way isolation for your equip-
ment, however it is important to note
that any equipment plugged
into the Ultimate
Outlet’s two
outlets are
not isolated
from each
other.
It is accept-
able to place
multiple com-
ponents, both
digital, and
analog in one
Ultimate Outlet.
While you may
place multiple analog
components or multiple
digital components on its
output, for optimal perfor-
mance do not mix digital and
analog products on the same
Ultimate Outlet.
Is it possible to add more receptacles to
the Ultimate Outlet?
If more receptacles are necessary an
extension strip can be plugged into the
Ultimate Outlet. The protection and cleans-
ing benefits of the Ultimate Outlet will be
extended to the extension strip. We recom-
mend the use of a PS Audio Juice bar. It
is designed to deliver all the performance
of the Ultimate Outlet to all of the outlets in
the extension strip, without the restrictive
surge suppression used in many stan-
dard extension strips. PS Audio Juice Bar
Provides six additional outlets.
How much power can the Ultimate Outlet
deliver?
The Ultimate Outlet will provide as much
power as a wall socket can deliver, up to
15 amps. Most AC wall sockets in the U.S.
and Canada are limited to 1800 watts (15
amps).
Can I use an Ultimate Outlet with a Power
Plant AC regenerator?
The Power Plants are unmatched even by
themselves, but using one in tandem with
an Ultimate Outlet offers further benefits and
performance improvements. For example,
because the Ultimate Outlet is bi-directional,
it can prevent
digital
equipment
from contaminating the
output of the Power Plant.
Ultimate Outlets can be used on both the
input and the output of a Power Plant. If
placed before a Power Plant, the Ultimate
Outlet will pre-condition incoming AC. This
allows the Power Plant to perform better as
it is operating under more ideal conditions.
When placed between a Power Plant’s
output and the connected equipment, the
Ultimate Outlet is acting as an extra isola-
tion filter and ensuring that no additional
noise is being fed back into the Power Plant.
Experiment with both of these setups to see
what works best in your system.

Can I use an Ultimate Outlet with other
power conditioners?
While it is certainly acceptable to use an
Ultimate Outlet along with other power con-
ditioners, it is not advisable to do so without
careful evaluation. Our experience has been
that almost all power line conditioners soften
the dynamics of music and reduces snap
and clarity of the video presentation. This
is not always the case for every system, so
if you plan on using the Ultimate Outlet in
addition to an existing conditioner, take care
to make a proper evaluation. Do not simply
assume it will be better.
Can the Ultimate Outlet be used with bal-
anced power?
Yes. The Ultimate Outlet can accept either
single ended AC (this is what typically
comes out of a standard U.S. wall socket)
or balanced AC. Balanced AC can be
achieved by using a PS Audio Power Plant
AC regenerator, or a properly designed iso-
lation transformer.
Should the LED on the back plate illu-
minate?
On the back plate is a visual indicator to
display the status of the fuse. If the indicator
is NOT lit, the fuse is intact and the Ultimate
Outlet is functioning properly. If the indicator
IS lit, replace the fuse with the spare pro-
vided in the box immediately to ensure con-
tinued protection of all connected devices.
When is it necessary to replace the
fuse?
Installed in every Ultimate Outlet is a 1 amp
fast blow fuse. This fuse exists to protect
the surge protection circuit only and will not
affect performance of the Ultimate Outlet.
If there is a surge in your power line the
internal tranzorber will fire and protect your
downstream equipment from damage. The
Ultimate Outlet also uses MOV’s as a redun-
dant form of surge protection. In the unlikely
event of a major surge or spike (i.e., a light-
ning strike) the fuse may open to protect the
tranzorber and associated surge protection
devices while maintaining the safety of the
connected equipment.
Should you need to replace the fuse, there
are some important considerations. First
make sure the power is not connected to the
Ultimate Outlet. First, remove the AC plug
that feeds the Ultimate Outlet its power.
Second, replace the fuse with the exact
same fuse it came with. One should be
included with the unit. All models use a 1
amp fast blow fuse.
Can the Ultimate Outlet be mounted to
the wall or ceiling?
Yes, to obtain a mounting kit complete with
the mounting plate and necessary hard-
ware, please contact your local dealer or
call PS Audio for more information.
For safety reasons and to allow access to
the fuse, we do not recommend installing
the Ultimate Outlet in between walls or
behind drywall .
If you are evaluating the Ultimate Outlet in
your home, we would ask that you do not
mount it to the ceiling or the wall until you
have completed your in-home evaluation
and decided to keep the unit.

Warning
To prevent fire or shock hazard, do not
expose the unit to rain or moisture. To
avoid electrical shock, do not open the
enclosure. Refer servicing to qualified
personnel only.
To prevent electric shock, use a 3 prong,
grounded type power cable.
Any change or modifications not expressly
approved in the manual could void your
warranty.
Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions provided
with your Ultimate Outlet.
Retain the operating instructions for later
use and reference.
Unplug the Ultimate Outlet from the wall out-
let before changing the fuse or performing
any cleaning or service.
Do not operate the Ultimate Outlet near
water. Avoid placement near a water reser-
voir or excessive moisture.
When replacement parts are required, be
sure they are specified by the manufacturer
to have the same characteristics as the
original part. Unauthorized substitutions
may result in fire, electric shock, or other
hazards.
Do not operate with faulty or frayed power
cables.
Warranty and Service
Inside the U.S. and Canada
PS Audio’s warranty is 3 years parts and
labor, from the date of original purchase.
This means that we warranty the product
itself regardless of ownership, new or used.
Outside the U.S. and Canada
PS Audio has authorized distribution in
many countries of the world. In each
country, the authorized importing retailer or
distributor has accepted the responsibility
for warranty of products sold by that retailer
or distributor. Warranty service should
normally be obtained from the importing
retailer or distributor from whom you
purchased the product. In the unlikely event
of service required beyond the capability
of the importer, PS Audio will fulfill the
conditions of the warranty. Such product
must be returned at the owner’s expense to
the PS Audio factory. Contact your PS Audio
distributor or the PS Audio customer service
department for more information.
Service issues
Should your unit ever require service or if
you have any technical questions about the
Ultimate Outlet, you must either contact your
dealer (PS Audio if purchased direct) or your
PS Audio distributor. No equipment will be
received at our service facilities without an
attached RA number.
If purchased through an authorized PS
Audio dealer or distributor, the RA number
must be obtained by the dealer or distributor.
If the product was purchased from PS Audio
direct, this can be obtained by contacting PS
Audio directly.

Audio
The xStream
Audio interconnect
cables come in
either RCA or XLR
type connectors.
Both lines are
available in Plus
and Statement
models.
All versions offer
a triple shielding technique which virtually
eliminates all unwanted interference.
The Statement models provide more
copper per conductor. The XLR version of
the Statement cable is a double barreled
construction which individually shields each
conductor.
Speaker

banana plug easy.
A full set of each
end is included
in the box. Just
thread on the
desired connector.
The three avors of speaker cables,
Statement, Plus and Prelude, come in 6, 8
and 10 gauge OFC wiring respectively. A Bi-
Wire version based on the Statement cable
delivers the ultimate in performance for
speakers with multiple binding posts.
