SETTING UP YOUR BATTERY BACKUP

A simple guide

How to Install: PSI Rechargeable Baery Units

for your Gateway

What you Need:

• (2) PSI Li-75 Power Supplies

• (6) PS36L EX Baeries

• PSI BGW320 Adapter Cable

• Oponal Baery Back Plate

Before you Begin:

Each Baery stack will provide up to 16 hours of backup power.

One baery stack will be connected to the Gateway to provide

automac backup and will need to be replaced with the other

standby stack as needed during an outage.

Keep standby rechargeable baery stack connected to power

source to maintain charge.

Please see the following page to build a “stack” or mount the

baeries and power supply on an oponal backplate.

Connect First Backup Baery:

Disconnect exisng black power supply

from the gateway and wall outlet

Stack three baery units and the

power supply on the backplane

Connect the rechargeable baery

stack to the Gateway using supplied

power cord.

Make sure the power supply is ON

and the Gateway is working

Connect First Backup Baery:

Connect the other three rechargeable baeries and the power supply to the other backplane and plug into an electrical outlet (not

controlled by a wall switch). Note: to get the best power available you should plug your baery stack int a wall receptacle.

How to Install: PSI Rechargeable Baery Units

for your Gateway: Build your baery!

Build a Stack:

Begin by unboxing the PS75. Slide the

backplate o the back of the main power

supply.

Slide the rst baery onto the back-

plate. Be sure to remove any protec-

ve covers from the baer prior. See

the instrucons provided with the PS75

for instrucons of how to slide the devic-

es together.

Slide the second baery onto the

rst baery, and slide the third

baery onto the second baery.

Next slide the power supply onto

the third baery.

Disconnect exisng black power supply

from the gateway and wall outlet. Hook

up the power cord, and the BTW cable to

the power supply.

Or Build the Baeries on the Oponal Back-

Begin by unboxing the PS75. Find the

backplate indicated in the gure above.

Slide the logo plate up, remove, and

keep it for later.

Slide all three baeries onto the back-

plate as shown above.

Slide the baery plate cover onto

and over two of the baeries.

Next slide the PS75 power supply

over the remaining exposed

baery

Make sure the power supply is loced into

place. Hook up the power cord, and the

BTW cable to the power supply.

How to Check & Replace: PSI Rechargeable

Baery Units

Important Informaon:

Each Baery stack will provide up to 16 hours of backup power. One baery stack will be connected to the Gateway to provide automac backup and will need to be replaced with other

standby stack as needed during an outage.

Keep standby rechargeable baery stack connected to power source to maintain charge.

Note: Baery backup unit will not power a cordless phone. I will only power a corded phone.

Replace Your Baeries:

Unplug baery from power supply

and Gateway.

Unplug one of the fully charged standby

baeries from its power supply and connect

it to the power supply and the Gateway.

Connect the old baery to the power supply from the previous standby

baery. Make sure the power supply is sll connected to the power outlet

and the outlet has power.

Check your Baeries:

Its important to check your baeries periodically to ensure full charge in case of a power outage. You baeries will automacally display the charge level when turned on. The power

supply will give an audible warning if the baery is low or not charging. Baeries will charge while connected to the Gateway. If baeries are exhausted, replace the baeries with the

standby units.
