Do not use this unit near water.
You must allow a minimum 10 cm or 4 inches of unobstructed clearance around the unit. Do not place the unit on a bed,
sofa, rug, or similar surface that could block the ventilation openings. If the unit is placed in a bookcase or cabinet, there
must be ventilation of the cabinet to allow proper cooling. Keep the component away from radiators, heat registers,
stoves, or any other appliance that produces heat.

The unit must be connected to a power supply only of the type and voltage speci ed on the rear panel. Connect the
component to the power outlet only with the supplied power supply cable or an exact equivalent. Do not modify the
supplied cable.
Do not route the power cord where it will be crushed, pinched, bent, exposed to heat, or damaged in any way. Pay
particular attention to the power cord at the plug and where the cord exits the back of the unit.
The power cord should be unplugged from the wall outlet during a lightning storm or if the unit is to be left unused for
a long period of time.
Immediately stop using the component and have it inspected and/or serviced by a quali ed service agency if:

Quick Start Guide
1. Front Panel View
SOURCE and POWER :
In menu mode, turn the knob to switch menu item.
Briey press to ON/Standby mode.
MUTE, MENU and VOLUME :
Brief press to Mute/Unmute.
Long press for more than 3 seconds to enter the Menu/exit the Menu.
In menu mode, turn the knob to switch item value.
Turn the knob to switch between inputs.
Turn the knob to adjust volume.

2. Rear Panel View
USB : USB slot is for connecting with the B Type to A Type USB 2.0 version cable to PC's USB port which is able to
send digital audio up to PCM 768KHz / DSD 512 and MQA.
IIS/DSD : With HDMI cable to transfer IIS and DSD data from source devices, Accept up to PCM 384KHz / DSD256 and MQA.
Do not connect to the HDMI output of Set Top Box or BD / DVD player.
Coaxial Inputs: Accept up to PCM 384KHz, DOP up to DSD 128 and MQA.
Optical Inputs: Accept up to PCM 192KHz, DOP DSD 64 and MQA.
AES/EBU Input: Professional digital input accepts up to PCM 192KHz, DOP DSD 64 and MQA.

7. Ground terminal : Chassis ground.
6. AC Inlet : Connect the supplied mains lead to the AC IN (115V or 230 V) terminal on the rear panel.

AC Voltage Selector : Make sure that the AC voltage selector switch at the bottom of the unit is switched
to the appropriate voltage for your country. All Lotus DAC5 SE are shipped with the switch set to 230V AC
in order to prevent accidental damage.

8. Remote Control
ON / STBY :Press to put the unit into standby mode or turn it on.
DISPLAY : Turn o / on display.
MENU : Press to enter setting mode or return to the previous screen.
SOURCE : Select the playback source, or navigate menu items in menu mode.
MUTE : Mute / Unmute audio.
VOL : Increase / Decrease volume, or navigate item value in menu mode.
Battery Replacement:
To change the battery, please remove the 4 screws and the bottom cover to reveal
the battery casing.

Turn on the DAC5 SE display will rst show PureAudio and Lotus DAC5 SE.
9. Start Up
Next, the usage status when the power was last turned o will be displayed. For example, the input is COAX 1,
the volume is 50, and the sampling rate is PCM 44.1KHz or other formats as shown below.

Use to activate the up or down conversion circuit when receiving PCM or DSD signals.

This means that the input source is converted to PCM or DSD and then sent to the D/A converter.
11- 2. DIGITAL FILTER
The Digital Filter function primarily changes characteristics outside the audible frequency, They cannot aect
changes within the audible frequency, You can choose the following digital lter.

12. Windows Driver install
12 - 1. System requirements
Please connect the DAC5 SE to the computer before installing the Windows driver.

2). Open the driver folder and click setup.exe the driver will installer, connect the unit along with the source device.

3). Follow the onscreen directions, Please allow 3 ~ 5 minutes for the installer to complete. On older computers, it may
take longer.
Note : During the setup the hardware device must be connect to your PC source device and when the message
appear to ask for disconnect and reconnect, follow the instruction and when nish doing so click on “OK”. The source
device should recognize the Pureaudio USB device and a message will show on the bottom.
1). Open the control panel from START and double click on the control panel then select add or remove pograms.
2). Select Pureaudio USB USBAudio Driver and click remove.
3). Click Yes to conrm the removal.

There is no installation require for Mac system however, a simple setting is require in order to allow the USB HD
Audio to be active.

15. MQA - Master Quality Authenticated
The DAC5 SE includes MQA technology,which enables you to play back MQA audio les and streams, delivering the
sound of the original master recording. The front panel display indicates if the MQA stream is detected.‘MQA’ or
‘MQA Studio’ indicates that the product is decoding and playing an MQA stream or le, and denotes provenance to
ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source material.‘‘MQA Studio’ indicates it is playing an MQA Studio le,
which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has been veried by the copyright owner. For

by such consumer protection laws and regulations. This warranty does not exclude, Limit or suspend any rights of

exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages or allow limitations on how long an implied warranty or
condition may last, So the limitations or exclusions described below may not apply to you. This warranty gives you

governed by and construed under the laws of the country in which the product purchase took place.
LIMITED WARRANTY
For a period of ONE (1) Year from the date of retail purchase by the original end-user purchaser (“Warranty Period”),
Pureaudio warrants (in) this product against defects in materials and workmanship, and (ii) that each product,
unmodied and under normal use and conditions, will substantially comply with Pureaudio ’ applicable written technical
documentation for the product. Pureaudio reserves the right to make substitutions and modications from time to time
in the specications of products sold by Pureaudio, provided that such substitutions or modications do not materially
aect overall product performance.
If a hardware defect exists and a valid claim is received within the Warranty Period, at its option and to the extent
permitted by law, Pureaudio will (1) repair the hardware defect at no charge, using new or refurbished replacement
parts, (2) exchange the product with a product that is new or which has been manufactured from new or serviceable
used parts and is at least functionally equivalent to the original product, or (3) refund the purchase price of the product.
Pureaudio may request that you replace defective parts with user-installable new or refurbished parts that Pureaudio
provides in fulllment of its warranty obligation. A replacement product/part assumes the remaining warranty of the
original product or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage for you.
When a product or part is exchanged, any replacement item becomes your property and the replaced item becomes
Pureaudio's property. When a refund is given, your product becomes Pureaudio's property.
