1 . PROGRAMMING
Denver softeners programming’s is very quick
and easy. The equipments are supplied
completely programmed from manufacturer’s
warehouses. It’s only necessary to make start-
up programming for system configuration. This
process is detailed as follows.
Timer description:
Denver softeners are equipped with an
advanced electronic timer. This timer is
equipped in the upper part of the cabinet.
Denver timers supply a lot of information about
the operation of the system. Moreover It allows
to adjust all the internal parameters of the
system .
Front part of the timer:
LCD Dispaly : It supplies information about the
softener. Depending of the stage in which the
system is the timer will supply different types
of information.
oSoftening: Information about softener
working.
o Regeneration: Current stage is showed
into the LCD display.
oProgramming: The display shows all the
internal parameters and allows to modi fy
it.
UP and DOWN keys: Pressing this keys the
parameters showed in the display are
modified. Inside the programming they allow to
modify the parameter in the display.
MENU key: Allows entering inside the internal
programming.
REGEN key: Pressing it for 5 seconds an
automatic regeneration is initiated. Inside
programming menu it allows to modify the
selected parameter and to confirm it after
modifications.
Programming blockage: After some seconds
without pressing any key the timer will be
blocked automatically. If anyone tries to
access internal programming the following
message will be showed.
To eliminate the blockage it’s necessary to press
MENU key for 5 seconds.
Start - up programming:
Denver softeners are configured to work with
delayed regenerat ions (02:00AM). This
configuration can be changed into the internal
programming.
1. Connect the power adapter to an adequate
power source. The timer will show service
position.
IMPORTANT: Sometimes, after connecting the
softener to the power supply, the foll owing
message will be sho w ed by the display.

This message indicates that the system is
placing itself in service position. If after ten
minutes this message stills in the display please
contact Technical Service.
2. Press MENU key for five seconds to enter
into the internal programming. By pressing
UP and DOWN keys the different
parameters can be selected, and pressing
REGEN key we can access to modify it
(selected parameter flashes). With UP and
DOWN key we can modify the selected
parameter and pressing REGEN key a final
time the parameter will be confirmed.
Parameters into the internal programming
are showed below:
Hour of day:
Languaje: Spanish or English.
Units: Metric system or US units.
Type of regeneration:
o Time initiated : Delayed regenerations
accord ing to selected frequence (Ex:
Softener will regenerate every three
days at 02:00AM).
oMeter immediate: Regenerations are
started after treating the programmed
volume of water.
oDelayed regenerations: Regenerations
are started after treating the
programmed volume of water at the
programmed hour.
oMixed regeneration: Similar to delayed
regeneration, but it allows to program a
maximum period of time without
regenerations. After this time the system
will start a delayed regeneration.
Note :For household applications mixed
regenerations are recommended.
3. System capacity: It’s necessary to program
the volume of water that can be treated for
the system. To calculate it please follow the
indications showed as folloes.

Exchange capacity: It’s the amount of
hardness that can be retained by the system .
This capacity varies depending of the softener
model. Different capacities are showed in the
table below.
Hardness: Total hardness of inlet water
expressed in French degrees ºHF.
Volume: Amount of water that coul be treated
for the system. THIS IS THE PARAMETER
THAT SHOULD BE PROGRAMMED INTO THE
SYSTEM.
Example:
A Denver softener with 15 litters Denver and an
inlet water hardness of 35ºHF.

2.6 must be programmed inside capacity
parameter.
HISTORIC MENU:
By pressing UP and DOWN keys simultaneously
we access to historical data about the operation
of the soft ener.
Regenerations:
To start an immediate regeneration it’s
necessary to press REGEN key for five seconds.
To cancel the current stage of the regeneration
it’s only necessary to press any key. It’s
important to remember that the stage could be
only cancelled when the motor of the valve is

stopped (the display will be flashing during the
movement of the motor).
That function is very important during start-
up processes.
2 . START - UP
Prior to initiate the start-up of the system is very
important to be sure that the installation of the
softener is correctly made according to local
regulations.
1. Check that inlet and outlet valves are
completely closed. Moreover confirm that
by -pass valve is opened to ensure water to
the installation during start -up p rocess.
2. Connect the power adapter to the power
source.
3. The timer will be placed in service position.
4. Press REGEN key during three seconds to
start regeneration.
5. After some seconds the system will be
placed in Backwash position.
6. Open inlet valve up to ¼ of it’s total
aperture. Water will start to enter into the
softener. Water flow at this moment should
be little to avoid damages to top nozzle.
7. When water comes through the drain with a
continuous flow open please open inlet
valve completely.
8. Some coloration (yellow or brown) could be
observed in drainage flow. That coloration is
originated by resin preservatives. It’s
necessary to maintain this position until
coloration disappears.
9. Close inlet valve for five minutes, all the air
trapped with the resin will float to the upper
part of the vessel.
10. Open inlet valve one more time for five
minutes more to ensure that all the air inside
the vessel has been removed.
11. Cancel the current stage of the regeneration
until refill stage.
12. Let refill stage end by itself. In this moment
the system will end the regeneration started
in point 4.
13. Start another regeneration. Wait until the
system is placed in Backwashing position
and cancel this stage by pressing any key.
14. The softener will be placed in Brining
position and will start to suction water from
the tank.
15. Check that the softener suctions water from
the tank.
16. Cancel the remaining stages of the
regeneration.
17. Open by-pass valve and fill the tank with
salt.
18. Start - up process has ended.
